Whwnever i open up a new tab in firefox, the page loads a delta search (search engine) page which comprises of various ad's. How can i remove it from firefox. It is not showing up in extensions and addons also.
Thanx in advance.

Although this isn't exactly about programming, here's some things you can try to do to fix it:
From here
First of all, go to Control panel and uninstall the following apps:
Delta
Delta Toolbar
BrowserProtect
Yontoo
Then, reset the following preferences:
browser.newtab.url
browser.startup.homepage
extensions.BabylonToolbar_i.newTabUrl
Or if you have nothing to lose,
simply click HELP > Troubleshooting information and reset Firefox back
to the default.

This just started to show up on my Windows10 machine. No browser is open. The down arrow includes a "feedback" option that goes to a .cn website. (I don't understand mandarin!) Right clicking does nothing.
How do I make this go away? Is this machine infected?
This is probably something that got install with another package. They often have a checkbox that says install(some crap) and we just click accept without noticing that small checkbox.
You can probably find out what it is by screening trough your running process. Find and destroy that executable. check your mscongif as well.
and you should probably get an Anti Virus.

Firefox did an update on itself. I have now found the checkbox to stop that. But the latest version (57) has a not-so-charming feature. When I open a new tab, I get some wierd page like an ad for facebook and a bunch of other crud. I've tried two add-ons to make new tabs be a blank page, neither works. How can one open a new tab and get a blank page?
New tab page, options button at upper right corner. Customize display.

I'm a long time user of the "Tree Style Tabs" add-on of Firefox. As a matter of fact it is the reason why I use Firefox
Firefox automatically upgraded to their new version, Firefox Quantum. Now there's an annoying bar of tabs across the top which is redundant because the Tree Style Tabs also puts the tabs on the left.
Is there a way I can disable tabs on the top bar? If not, is there a way I can go back to an old version of Firefox and not have it update to Firefox Quantum?
Through further research I realized that my question is a duplicate of the one posted here.
The answer there worked for me, though it was a bit of a pain (requires creating a text file in a magic place, and the first time I tried I put it in the wrong place). It would be nice if this was a configuration option provided in Firefox's menus.

Normally is when a file named with your username is created. You need just to delete it and it'll be ok. It is located in your Users folder. Follow one of these links if you don't find its location: first link and second link.

I am using extensions added from the official websites like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/extensions/ , https://chrome.google.com/webstore.
If the answer is Yes, is there any way to find out which plugin causing trouble.
Question related to 'browsing speed': Does browsing speed depend on the browser? is not talking about browser plugins
If you believe the problem might be caused by any single specific extension, you disable/enable your extensions to find the culprit. There is an add-on for Firefox that does this. It's called Extension Conflict Troubleshooter for Firefox and can be found on AMO.
