Downgrade Xcode 5 to Xcode 4.6.1 - xcode

I have been trying to research a way that I would be able to revert back to Xcode 4.6.1, I can't seem to find a solution.
I've seen that in the past people have downgraded their Xcode.
Is there a way that I can downgrade Xcode 5 back to Xcode 4.6.1?
I have older versions of apps which clients do not wish to upgrade. However I still need to make amendments to theses applications. I need them to remain the same.
Is there any way that I can downgrade Xcode?

Move Xcode 5 to the Trash. Download and install Xcode 4.6. You can download older versions of Xcode from the following URL:
https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action
You can also have both Xcode 4 and 5 installed. You will have to rename your existing Xcode 5 app from Xcode to another name like Xcode5 before you install Xcode 4.6 in the Applications folder.

I followed your instruction to downgrade xcode 5.1 to xcode 4.6.1. The steps seems to work, however, when I try to install the command line tool, the Components tab of the Downloads preferences panel shows "No components are available". How do I get the command line tool to show up in the component panel?
Before the downgrade, with xcode 5.1, I did "xcode-select —install" to install command line tool. I assume it has been removed when I dragged the xcode 5.1 to the trash.

Xcode version in App Store and in Xcode do not match

I am having a strange issue. I need access to Xcode 10 to test my app. So I downloaded and installed the latest version of Xcode from the App Store to my Mac. I have confirmed this in the App Store:
See in the top left in the above image, version 10.1 of Xcode is installed.
But to my frustration when I open Xcode it still is version 9, as shown in this screen shot:
See just below the Xcode logo it says version 9.4.1
What is going on? I tried restarting my computer again but the Xcode version is still 9.4 when i open xcode. Is there somewhere I can choose to use version 10 of Xcode?
You might have possibly installed multiple xCode applications in your system.
Option 1:
Select Finder -> Applications
Check if there are multiple xCode applications.
Option 2:
Go to your project folder.
Right click . xcodeproj or .xcworkspace file -> Open With
This will show all the xCode applications installed in system.

After installing Xcode 7, Xcode 6.3 shows errors about converting to Swift 2

After installing Xcode 7 to play with Swift 2 in Playgrounds, I've got a weird problem:
when I open an existing Xcode 6.3 project with Xcode 6.3, it throws lots of errors about conversions to Swift 2.
This project was just cloned from the repository and hasn't been opened with Xcode 7 yet.
So my guess is that the Xcode 7 install messed up the Xcode 6.3 installed tools or something like that, but I have no idea how I could start to fix this.
I certainly don't want to open and upgrade this big project in Xcode 7 at the moment, but I do need to open it in Xcode 6.3 and Swift 1.2 to continue work on it.
Thanks to Leo's comment, I was able to clean the caches and derived data, and these errors went away.
But then Xcode refused to build the project's included frameworks (SQLite.swift and SwiftHTTP) even after cleaning everything and rebooting.
I had to uninstall them manually, clear the "build phase" and "target" fields where they appeared, then use CocoaPods to reinstall them.
After that, my app compiled again properly in Xcode 6.3.
Click on product in menubar
Click Clean
Then try reBuild project by click on play botton
it works for me

Uninstall xcode 4.5 (iOS 6)

Just realised I've made a mistake of updating xcode 4.5 (iOS 6) as it causing problems.
How to uninstall xcode 4.5 (iOS 6)? safely? as iOS 6 is beta. I want to go back to xcode 5.1.
iOS6 is no longer beta. So if you installed Xcode 4.5 from the store, you already have the release version of Xcode 4.5. If not, get it from the store.
If you want an older version of Xcode, look here.
There are cases where you may not want to upgrade to the latest version of Xcode.
In my company there are still customers with iPhone 3 that are running iOS 4.2.1 and Xcode 4.5 won't generate code for it. Xcode will generate for 4.3 upwards.
Surprisingly I have an iPhone 3 (A1303) that has been upgraded to iOS 6.0 and Xcode won't generate code for that either.
So, for those that do need to downgrade, you use the link that #leo posted to get hold of the dmg for the version of Xcode you want (4.4.1 probably) and mount it. You then find the existing Xcode (in your application folder) and drag it to the waste bin, then drag the downgraded Xcode to the application folder. You may need to re-install the command line tools, if you use them. Make sure you get the version for your Mac's OS.

XCode 3 -> 4 confusion

I've just upgraded from OSX 10.6 -> 10.8. I had XCode 3.2.6 installed and I installed 4.5 through the appstore. I appear to have both versions installed now (which I don't mind) but I'm lost as to where everything lives now, /Developer doesn't seem to have anything new in it.
Also, my commandline tools like svn have stopped working now, they are not found. I know XCode 4 has newer and better tools (newer SVN, Git, etc) but how do I get it set up nicely? I thought cmd-line tools were part of the XCode 4 installation.
Uninstalling 3.2.6 is fine if needed, I just want to avoid clashes.
To answer your specific questions, Xcode 4.5 is in your Applications folder. It is packaged as a single app instead of using the /Developer folder. Xcode 3.2.6 is in your /Developer folder. You can keep both versions installed.
Xcode 4.5 does not install the command line tools initially. You can install them from Xcode's Downloads preferences. You can also install them by choosing Xcode > Open Developer Tool > More Developer Tools.
I'd look up any transition guides for moving from Xcode 3 to 4. There are lots of different features, so it may take a while to get used to the new layout and where Xcode puts things.
Try these links for starters:

how to fix old xcode installations on mac

I had xcode 3.2.something. and iwth ios sdks 3.0-3.1-....4.1 and 2 iphone simulator sdks.
Now i installed xcode 4.0 with ios sdk 4.3 something like that.
Now all my previous applications cannot be launched nor on device nor on simulator because there's not a single old sdk available.
so next i reinserted the original cds containing macosx and xcode and reinstalled the first xcode i used, but now there's not one ios sdk available at all.
i've been surfing the net for hours now, andi have a couple of questions:
1)have i had to uninstall the xcode 3.2.x before installing xcode 4?
2)how to uninstall applications on mac??? just to make sure that the answer i've found is the correct one.
3)how can erase the traces of all previous xcodes and their sdks in order to install the original one, now that i learned how to install different xcode versions side by side.
4) now what do you think i should to recover? do i have to back up everything and reinstall mac from the beginning?
thank you
So, your questions:
1. Have I got to uninstall XCode 3.2 before installing XCode 4? - No, you don't, but the XCode installer will overwrite your old copy by default. When installing the newer version of XCode and the iOS SDK you must specify a different install directory (eg, create a new folder in the root of your drive called 'Developer 4' for XCode 4.
2. How can I uninstall XCode? - Normally on a mac you would just drag your application to the trash, but it's a little more complicated with XCode. Refer to the instructions at this link: http://pushkararora.com/how-to/how-to-uninstall-xcode-completely/
3. How can I erase all traces of all previous XCodes? - see the answer above for question 2 :)
You can obtain old versions of the SDK from various unofficial online sources if you need to roll back to iOS 3 SDKs. However, it may not be all that much work to move your apps over to the 4.x SDKs.
ok it turned out that at the beginning i was using xcode 3.2.4 with ios sdk 4.1
The xcode that comes with mac osx only targets mac sdk. No iphone support
So i got xcode 3.2.4 setup from a backup (you can find it online) and installed and this should work
And now i have 3.2.5 using sdk 4.2 and targetting all till 3.0
and also xcode 4.0.2
