So, let's say I want to make screenshot and post it on Twitter. SLComposeViewController is blinking when presenting.
UIImage *image;
UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions(self.view.bounds.size, NO, [UIScreen mainScreen].scale);
[self.view drawViewHierarchyInRect:self.view.bounds afterScreenUpdates:YES];
image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext();
UIGraphicsEndImageContext();
SLComposeViewController *compose = [SLComposeViewController composeViewControllerForServiceType:SLServiceTypeTwitter];
[compose addImage:image];
[self presentViewController:compose animated:YES completion:nil];
The behavior occurs only when "afterScreenUpdates:YES", "afterScreenUpdates:NO" makes no blinking.
Why does it blink? I test it on iPhone 5.
I know this is a bit old but here is what worked for me:
Set afterScreenUpdates:NO

So I had a full working solution in iOS7 that displays a LoginViewController via presentViewController in the AppDelegate's didFinishLaunching.
Basically I am doing something like this:
UIViewController *backgroundViewController = ...
self.window.rootViewController = backgroundViewController;
[self.window makeKeyAndVisible];
[self.window.rootViewController presentViewController:loginViewController
animated:NO ...]
In iOS8 I see a jump. First I see the backgroundViewController then after about 1 second or so the login appears.
So, how can I prevent this jump in iOS8?
I am seeing that are a ton of developers with this kind of problem but still didn't find a solution.
Also a hack (for now), but just one line of code
Add the view of the view controller you're presenting to the window before presentation
UIViewController *viewController = [[UIViewController alloc] init];
[viewController.view setBackgroundColor:[UIColor greenColor]];
// Temporary iOS8 fix for 'presentation lag' on launch
[self.window addSubview:viewController.view];
[self.window.rootViewController presentViewController:viewController animated:NO completion:nil];
If you are presenting a navigation controller than add the navigation controller's view instead of its top view controller.
I have a quick hacky fix:
//Make a screenshot of the ViewController first, or use a real image if you want
__block UIImageView *fakeImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image];
fakeImageView.frame = vc.view.frame;
[self.view addSubview:fakeImageView];
[self presentViewController:vc animated:animated completion:^{
[fakeImageView removeFromSuperview];
fakeImageView = nil;
}];
It is not good for long term, but can quickly fix this issue without changing too much code.
Waiting for better solutions.
You can set the window to an instance of a temporary controller.
self.window.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; //do some styling etc.
self.window.rootViewController = [LoginViewController new];
[self.window makeKeyAndVisible];
From the set controller (LoginViewController) you can push your real login controller with the desired transition. Once the login sequence is over you can make a transition from the login controller to the default application root view controller.
[UIView transitionWithView:[AppGlobal sharedApp].applicationWindow
duration:0.75
options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionFlipFromLeft
animations:^{
[AppGlobal sharedApp].applicationWindow.rootViewController = [AppRootViewController new];
} completion:nil];
I have also faced the same problem in iOS8 and I found this solution:
ABCViewController *obj = [[ABCViewController alloc] initWithNibName:#"ABCViewController" bundle:nil];
CATransition *transition = [CATransition animation];
transition.duration = 0.4;
transition.timingFunction = [CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionEaseInEaseOut];
transition.type = kCATransitionMoveIn;
transition.subtype = kCATransitionFromBottom;
transition.delegate = self;
[self.navigationControler.view.layer addAnimation:transition forKey:nil];
[appDelegate.navigationControler obj animated:NO];
obj = nil;
I hope this solution can help you!
This should work:
call [loginViewController view]
Before presenting it.
I currently have a mp4 video converted from a gif playing at app launch, but using a video stops playing music and has problems with airplay devices connected.
Anyways what i really want is showing my gif on app launch. But i can't seem to get the gif to "play" it only shows one frame, how do i make it play the whole gif ?
My current code:
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
// Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib.
// Show Animation;
NSURL *url = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:#"Launch" ofType:#"mp4"]];
LaunchPlayer = [[MPMoviePlayerViewController alloc]
initWithContentURL:url];
LaunchPlayer.view.frame = self.view.bounds;
LaunchPlayer.moviePlayer.movieSourceType = MPMovieSourceTypeFile;
LaunchPlayer.moviePlayer.controlStyle = MPMovieControlStyleNone;
LaunchPlayer.view.tag = 1;
[self.view addSubview:LaunchPlayer.view];
[LaunchPlayer.moviePlayer play];
[[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self
selector:#selector(LaunchFinish)
name:#"MPMoviePlayerPlaybackDidFinishNotification"
object:nil];
}
Although I don't see how the code you posted has anything to do with using a .gif, you its sticking to the first frame because iOS will not run an animated .gif. However, you can export each frame of your animation as a separate image and animate them like this.
-(void) viewDidLoad
{
imageView.animationImages = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:
[UIImage imageNamed:#"myImageFrame1.gif"],
[UIImage imageNamed:#"myImageFrame2.gif"],
[UIImage imageNamed:#"myImageFrame3.gif"],
[UIImage imageNamed:#"myImageFrame4.gif"], nil];
imageView.animationDuration = 2.0;
imageView.animationRepeatCount = 0;
[imageView startAnimating];
}
In my little example here. i used a UIWEBVIEW called webView and had spinning-loader.gif added as a resource. The image can me put anywhere in the project as long as its added. This showed the gif as well as made it animate. Hope this helps.
NSString *pathImg = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:#"spinning-loader" ofType:#"gif"];
NSString* webViewContent = [NSString stringWithFormat:
#"<html><body><img style='width:85;height:85;' src=\"file://%#\" /></body></html>", pathImg];
[webView loadHTMLString:webViewContent baseURL:nil];
webView.scrollView.bounces = NO;
webView.scrollView.scrollEnabled = NO;
webView.opaque=FALSE;
[webView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
I'm new to Xcode. This is probably a very simple question to you, but I wonder if anyone can help me.
What I want to do is to load an image in a customised UIImageView, when clicking the image, the imageview will change to another image. When I run the simulator, there are no error messages, but the second image does not load after clicking.
I've declared a UIImageView subclass dragView. In the dragView.m, I have such codes:
-(void) touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event
{
[self changePicture];
}
-(void) changePicture {
NSString *path = [[NSHomeDirectory() stringByAppendingPathComponent:#"Documents"] stringByAppendingPathComponent:#"Red Flower.png"];
self.image = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:path];
}
By the way, I have enabled the interaction. Many thanks!
You probably need to tell the OS to update the view by calling [self setNeedsDisplay:YES].
i would like to open camera in my tab bar app..
i have open the camera but i could not taken the picture because i didnt find the camera symbol in that screen so please tell me how i can i show the camera button(for capture) in camera view? i am also tested it in my iPhone. camera opened but i could not find any button to pick the image.. how can i got if?
Thank You..
code is
picker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
picker.delegate = self;
picker.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
[Delegate presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES];
use
[self presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES];
instead of
[Delegate presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES];
hi am doing an iphone twitter app with json and i am wondering if it is possible to set the
cell.accessoryType to a image in UITableView? or possible move the image to the right hand side...any clues?
Sure. Just use the accessoryView property of UITableViewCell and assign a UIImageView:
UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:#"fileNameOfYourImage.jpg"]; //or wherever you take your image from
UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image];
cell.accessoryView = imageView;
[imageView release];
No need to use imageview, just provide this for simple arrow.
cell.accessoryType=UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator;
