I'm trying to build Android project on my 64-bit kubuntu linux and encountered the error
message:
error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
running apt-get install libstdc++6 told me that this library is allready installed on my machine and its up to date. Now I'm trying to find out where it is so I could update my path and tell adb where to look for it.
Tried ;/$ find libstdc++6 and which libstdc++6 and they both failed to find it.
A similar question suggests to use bash in order to find libstdc, but it implies
the library is under \usr\lib which is not my case. I tried "ls \usr\lib\std* " and got "No such file or directory" as a reply.
What else should I do?

I'm trying to build snappy, but I end up getting the error
error while loading shared libraries: libatomic.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
When I go look in /lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/8/ I do find a file libatomic.so
Which has the contents
INPUT ( /usr/lib64/libatomic.so.1.2.0 )
then if I go looking in /usr/lb64/ only these files exist
libatomic_ops_gpl.so.1
libatomic_ops_gpl.so.1.1.2
libatomic_ops.so.1
libatomic_ops.so.1.1.1
I try doing yum install libatomic_ops.x86_64, it says nothing to do. That is the only package that comes up when doing yum search libatomic.
I'm confused with how to solve this issue. Thanks!
For what it matters, this is a redhat 8.6 machine.
This was solved by running dnf install gcc, this updated gcc and allowed for yum install libatomic to work
I've recently replaced Win10 by Linux Debian 11.2 on my PC (hence I'm a newbee in Linux). Now, not all programs are available as deb-Files.
I tried to compile source code - here a synthesizer ams-2.2.0 - from a tar.gz files (after unzipping into a separate folder) with steps (as written in the INSTALL.TXT to this source, and obviously usual)
./configure
make
make install
I get a bunch of error messages for missing files, when running ./congigure most resolved by installation of missing packages, but at last it fails with error message:
checking for QTCore Qt5Gui Qt5Widgets >= 5.0... no
configure: error: cannot find Qt5 library >= 5.0
(hope to get all written correctly, because I can't copy from the terminal ... Ctrl-Shift-C doesn't seem to work)
I checked the installation in synaptics and found that Qt-Version is 5.12. So what's wrong here?
I'm afraid to have this error message everytime I try to compile different source codes.
You need to install libqtcore and libqtwidgets with development headers, they are in qtbase5-dev package.
sudo apt install build-essential qtbase5-dev qtchooser
I was trying to build existing Dlang project on my home Mac. But I am getting this error. I haven't find anything about it.

Can somebody pls help?
I am using these:
MacOS 10.15.4
DMD64 v2.091.1
DUB 1.20.1
Thx to Adam D. Ruppe.
It looks like there was a problem with previously installed version of dmd.
Solved by:
brew uninstall dub
brew uninstall dmd
delete /Library/D directory
brew install dmd
brew install dub
I'm trying to compile miniSAT on Kali Linux 64 bits but I keep getting the error message:
fatal error: zlib.h: no such file or directory
I have read that there might be a linking problem that makes the compiler unable to find the header files, but I'm new to Linux and do not know how to solve that.
You should install the development support files for zlib, try:
sudo apt-get install libz-dev
Other package names: zlib1g-dev.
If you've already zlib library, make sure you're compiling your code sources with -lz. See: missing zlib.h in ubuntu.
Install zlib from it's source, solve my similar error.
Download last version from this then:
configure
make -j4
make install
When I try to make Glade in MSYS2, after navigating to the folder and typing in ./configure it starts to install but then hits an error and terminates:
"checking for itstool . . .no"
followed by:
"configure: error: itstool not found"
I read here that it might have something to do with Python packages not being installed?:
https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-osx-users-list/2014-August/msg00018.html
Please help this noob get Glade up and running! :)
Cheers,
The MSYS2 folks provide a repository full of packages built for you (itstool is there). So you just want to install Glade. pacman -Ss glade will search for packages and install it with pacman -S ... (I am not on Windows to see exact name).
