bootstrap 2 modal load image dynamically - image

I'm trying to load dynamically an image on a bootstrap3 modal.
See that in action.
When I first click on the thumbnail I get the source code of the image.
When I close the modal and click the thumbnail again it works fine.
My jQuery code:
jQuery('.featuredimglink').click( function(event) {
event.preventDefault();
jQuery('.modal-body').empty();
var title = jQuery(this).attr("title");
jQuery('h3.modal-title').html(title);
var img = (jQuery(this).find('img').attr('src')).replace('-150x150', '');
jQuery('.modal-body').html('<img src="'+ img +'" alt="'+ title +'" />');
jQuery('#myModal').modal({show:true});
});
My modal code:
<div id="myModal" class="modal fade" tabindex="-1" role="dialog">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal">×</button>
<h3 class="modal-title"></h3>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button class="btn btn-default" data-dismiss="modal">Close</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
I can also see that
jQuery('#myModal').modal({show:true});
fires an error:
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'modal'
RESOLVED
Just initializing the modal before the click function. Here is my final code:
var mymodal = jQuery('#myModal').modal({
show: false
});
jQuery('.featuredimglink').on('click', function(event) {
event.preventDefault();
jQuery('.modal-body').empty();
var title = jQuery(this).attr("title");
jQuery('h3.modal-title').html(title);
var img = (jQuery(this).find('img').attr('src')).replace('-150x150', '');
jQuery('.modal-body').html('<img src="'+ img +'" alt="'+ title +'" />');
mymodal.modal('show');
});

If you are using bootstrap for the modal dialog, you need to reference the bootstrap css and the bootstrap js file.
<link href="//netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.0.3/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
<script src="//netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.0.3/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
Then replace
jQuery('#myModal').modal({show:true});
with
jQuery('#myModal').modal('show');

Bootstrap modal not close after submit data through jquery ajax method

i wanna put data into database through bootstrap modal with ajax. But after submit data button on modal the modal not close automatically. How i can fix this.
Here is code of Bootstrap modal
<!-- Trigger the modal with a button -->
<button type="button" class="btn btn-info btn-lg" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#myModal">Open Modal</button>
<!-- Modal -->
<div id="myModal" class="modal fade" role="dialog">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<!-- Modal content-->
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal">×</button>
<h4 class="modal-title">Modal Header</h4>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<p>Some text in the modal.</p>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default" data-dismiss="modal">Close</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
This is ajax code
<script type="text/javascript">
***
SOme Code Here
****
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url : "YOu URL",
data: {},
success: function(feedback){
$('#feedback').html(feedback);
}
});
});
});
</script>
In your success method, you call to close the model by using
$('#yourModal').modal('hide');
Btw, it is advisable to do a http POST rather than a GET for submissions.
The syntax for modal closing seems fine. But I'm not sure if you are targetting right modal element. See if the target id on which you are triggering the modal close code is right. Hope it solves your problem.

jquery cookie issue - does not open modal window

I have small issue with jquery-cookie plugin, as you can see in functions.php , first I register script, then enqueue jquery_cookie_script, but does not work properly... I want to archive when user open website today, and scroll.Top() > 50% of window height, modal window will be opened. When close modal window by click on the X button, will not be able to open it again after refresh the whole page, only for 7 days.
You can see my code below, I need some help how to fix that issue, because does not work at all.
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$(window).scroll(function(event) {
var y = $(this).scrollTop();
var half_height = $(window).height() / 2;
if (y > half_height) {
if ($.cookie('modal_shown') == null) {
$.cookie('modal_shown', 'yes', {
expires: 7,
path: '/'
});
$('#modal').reveal();
}
}
});
});
in functions.php
function enqueue_custom_js(){
wp_enqueue_script('custom', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/js/custom.js',array(),time());
wp_register_script( 'jquery_cookie_script', 'http://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery-cookie/1.4.1/jquery.cookie.min.js',array(),time());
wp_enqueue_script( 'jquery_cookie_script');
}
add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts','enqueue_custom_js');
HTML
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="modal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog">
<div class="modal-dialog" role="document">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"><span aria-hidden="true">×</span></button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body text-center">
<span class="title_subtitle white">Hey babe!<br>Let's link up!</span><br>
<span class="get_off">Get 15% OFF</span><br>
<span class="first_order white">your first order</span><br>
<span class="arrivals white">new arrivals, contests and promos to your inbox</span><br>
<input type="email" name="email" placeholder="Email" required>

<a data-dismiss="modal" title="No thanks, I don't need a Promo Code">No thanks, I don't need a Promo Code</a>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
I found a solution that works properly
jQuery( document ).ready( function( $ ) {
$(document).on('scroll', function() {
var y = $(this).scrollTop();
var half_height = $(window).height()/2;
if (y > half_height) {
$(document).off('scroll');
if ($.cookie('pop') == null) {
$('#modal').modal('show');
$.cookie('pop', '7');
}
}
});
});

bootstrap 3 modal breaking on AJAX response - mvc4

My bootstrap modal footer just doesn't show up.
Main View
<div class="modal fade" id="ModalId">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" data-dismiss="modal">Log</button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<div id="form">
<div id="ModalBodyId">
#Html.Partial("PartialViewName");
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer"> // this part doesn't show up
<button type="button" data-dismiss="modal" onclick="SaveNow()";>Edit</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Here is what loads the partial view into the modal. I had to add the below code for the validation to work. The validation works fine now, however i do not see the button which is contained inside the modal footer.
$("#ModalId").click(function () {
var form = $("#ModalBodyId").closest("form");
form.removeData('validator');
form.removeData('unobtrusiveValidation');
$.validator.unobtrusive.parse(form);
$.ajax({
url: "/ControllerName/ActionName",
type: "GET",
data: $("#ModalBodyId").serialize(),
cache: false
});
});
If i remove the #Html.Partial("PartialViewName"); from modal-body then the modal-footer shows up.

Bootstrap 3 - How to load content in modal body via AJAX?

As you can see here, I have a button that launches a modal. Setting an href url for the button this url is automatically loaded into modal by Bootstrap 3.
The fact is this page is loaded into modal root (as said in the bootstrap 3 documentation for modals usage). I want to load it into the modal-body instead.
Is there a way to do it via attributes (not javascript)? Or what is the most automatic way to do it?
P.S. I remember in Bootstrap 2 the content was loaded in the body, not the root.
This is actually super simple with just a little bit of added javascript. The link's href is used as the ajax content source. Note that for Bootstrap 3.* we set data-remote="false" to disable the deprecated Bootstrap load function.
JavaScript:
// Fill modal with content from link href
$("#myModal").on("show.bs.modal", function(e) {
var link = $(e.relatedTarget);
$(this).find(".modal-body").load(link.attr("href"));
});
Html (based on the official example):
<!-- Link trigger modal -->
<a href="remoteContent.html" data-remote="false" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#myModal" class="btn btn-default">
Launch Modal
</a>
<!-- Default bootstrap modal example -->
<div class="modal fade" id="myModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"><span aria-hidden="true">×</span></button>
<h4 class="modal-title" id="myModalLabel">Modal title</h4>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
...
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default" data-dismiss="modal">Close</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Try it yourself: https://jsfiddle.net/ednon5d1/
Check this SO answer out.
It looks like the only way is to provide the whole modal structure with your ajax response.
As you can check from the bootstrap source code, the load function is binded to the root element.
In case you can't modify the ajax response, a simple workaround could be an explicit call of the $(..).modal(..) plugin on your body element, even though it will probably break the show/hide functions of the root element.
I guess you're searching for this custom function. It takes a data-toggle attribute and creates dynamically the necessary div to place the remote content. Just place the data-toggle="ajaxModal" on any link you want to load via AJAX.
The JS part:
$('[data-toggle="ajaxModal"]').on('click',
function(e) {
$('#ajaxModal').remove();
e.preventDefault();
var $this = $(this)
, $remote = $this.data('remote') || $this.attr('href')
, $modal = $('<div class="modal" id="ajaxModal"><div class="modal-body"></div></div>');
$('body').append($modal);
$modal.modal({backdrop: 'static', keyboard: false});
$modal.load($remote);
}
);
Finally, in the remote content, you need to put the entire structure to work.
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal">×</button>
<h4 class="modal-title"></h4>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
Close
Button
Another button...
</div>
</div><!-- /.modal-content -->
</div><!-- /.modal-dialog -->
In the case where you need to update the same modal with content from different Ajax / API calls here's a working solution.
$('.btn-action').click(function(){
var url = $(this).data("url");
$.ajax({
url: url,
dataType: 'json',
success: function(res) {
// get the ajax response data
var data = res.body;
// update modal content here
// you may want to format data or
// update other modal elements here too
$('.modal-body').text(data);
// show modal
$('#myModal').modal('show');
},
error:function(request, status, error) {
console.log("ajax call went wrong:" + request.responseText);
}
});
});

A simple way to use modals is with eModal!
Ex from github:
Link to eModal.js <script src="//rawgit.com/saribe/eModal/master/dist/eModal.min.js"></script>
use eModal to display a modal for alert, ajax, prompt or confirm
// Display an alert modal with default title (Attention)
eModal.ajax('your/url.html');
$(document).ready(function () {/* activate scroll spy menu */
var iconPrefix = '.glyphicon-';
$(iconPrefix + 'cloud').click(ajaxDemo);
$(iconPrefix + 'comment').click(alertDemo);
$(iconPrefix + 'ok').click(confirmDemo);
$(iconPrefix + 'pencil').click(promptDemo);
$(iconPrefix + 'screenshot').click(iframeDemo);
///////////////////* Implementation *///////////////////

function ajaxDemo() {
var title = 'Ajax modal';
var params = {
buttons: [
{ text: 'Close', close: true, style: 'danger' },
{ text: 'New content', close: false, style: 'success', click: ajaxDemo }
],
size: eModal.size.lg,
title: title,

create an empty modal box on the current page and below is the ajax call you can see how to fetch the content in result from another html page.
$.ajax({url: "registration.html", success: function(result){
//alert("success"+result);
$("#contentBody").html(result);
$("#myModal").modal('show');
}});
once the call is done you will get the content of the page by the result to then you can insert the code in you modal's content id using.
You can call controller and get the page content and you can show that in your modal.
below is the example of Bootstrap 3 modal in that we are loading content from registration.html page...

How to popup modal only when the Ajax function finish execution in bootstrap jquery?

I have a Ajax function like this:
function generate_summary() {
var summary_input=document.getElementById('summary_input').value;
var email_notify=document.getElementById('email_notify').value;
var num_sent=document.getElementById('num_sent').value;
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "/summary/",
data: {summary_input:summary_input, email_notify:email_notify, num_sent:num_sent},
success: function(data){
$('#modal-body').html(data)
}
});
}
I have href like this:
<a onclick="generate_summary()" href="#summaryModal" style="text-decoration:none;" id="summarize_btn" role="button" class="btn btn-success offset3" data-toggle="modal">Summarize</a>
Modal looks like this:
<!-- Summary output popup -->
<div id="summaryModal" class="modal hide fade" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-hidden="true">×</button>
<h3 id="myModalLabel">Summary</h3>
</div>
<div class="modal-body" id="modal-body">
<textarea disabled id="summary_output" name="summary_input" rows="15" class="span5"></textarea>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button class="btn" data-dismiss="modal" aria-hidden="true">Close</button>
<button class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button>
</div>
</div>
Modal is a popup when summarize button is clicked.
The output from the server is placed on:
<div class="modal-body" id="modal-body">
<textarea disabled id="summary_output" name="summary_input" rows="15" class="span5">{{ summary }}</textarea>
</div>
Ajax function, modal everything is working fine. But the modal is load so quickly and the function only returns the value after 10-15 secs. I want to show the popup modal and the summary at the same time. How can I do that?
to use jquery dialog you will have to reference jquery.ui js and css files in your project.
first make the summaryModal a jquery dialog:
$("#summaryModal").dialog({ autoOpen: false, buttons:
{
"Save": function () {
if (!confirm("Do you want to save the changes?")) {
return;
}
//Add your logic to save.
$("#summaryModal").dialog('close');
},
"Cancel": function () {
$("#summaryModal").dialog('close');
}
}
});
After that when you click the summarize_btn make the ajax call and load the content in the dialog:
$("#summarize_btn").click(function () {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "/Home/About",
success: function (data) {
$("#summaryModal").dialog("option", "height", 500);
$("#summaryModal").dialog("option", "width", 500);
$("#summaryModal").dialog("option", "title", 'Modal Title');
$("#summaryModal").dialog("option", "modal", true);
$("#summaryModal").dialog('open');
$('#summaryModal').html(data);
}
});
});
the summaryModal div will look like:
<div id="summaryModal" class="modal hide fade" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
</div>
