The Windows Phone Emulator wasn't able to set some properties on the virtual machine - visual-studio

I've installed Windows phone 8 SDK successfully and I have run the applications successfully on the emulators. Everything was fine.
Now I have updated my Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 for Windows Phone Version 2 to Version 4.
And I have downloaded and installed the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 Update 3 Emulators. Now I run the application in Emulator WVGA 512MB and the application running successfully.
Now when I try to run the application in Emulator Update 3 1080P, then I am getting the below error.
Please help me how to solve the above issue.
Thanks

WP 8 Emulator works on a virtual machine, so you should check virtual machine settings on Hyper-V. It seems that Emulator needs more memory and your computer has not enough.

Windows 8.1 dont have hyper-v - cant use Windows Phone Emulator

Lately i wanted to get into Windows Phone 8 development and i installed Visual Studio 2013 + Windows Phone SDK 8 + Visual Studio 2013 Latest update.
My system parameters are:
- 8gb ram
- Windows 8.1 64bit system
- Intel i5
The moment i try to run a Windows Phone project a dialog appears and it says:
Title - " Cant start the windows phone emulator"
Subtitle - "The Windows Phone Emulator requires Hyper-V.Your PC is missing the following pre-requisites required to run Hyper-V:
-Windows 8 Professional(64 bit)"
After i saw that i checked for how to upgrade Normal Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Professional.
With no luck i tried to find out more about to install Hyper-V with the BIOS configuration with no luck as well.
Usually i develop on Android with Eclipse(with the Emulator) so i can't understand the reason why a emulator of Windows Phone can't run on my system.
P.S
I dont have Hyper-V feature in the Windows Feature list to Turn off/on
Thanks heads up for each answer! :)
The error is saying you need Windows 8.1 x64 Pro or Enterprise to be able to install Hyper-V. You can still develop phone apps in the edition of Windows 8.1 you have but you must debug on on a windows phone the emulator will not be available
System Control -> Programms and Functions -> "Activate or deactivate Windows Features" (in the left bar)
(freely translated from my german win8.1)
There you can activate Hyper-V if it is inside your Windows-version. Then try to restart VS2013 and start the emulator. I had to "deactivate" my Hyper-V and activate it again for some reason. Then it worked.
Good Luck! :)
The Windows Phone 8 emulator is a special Hyper-V image. It cannot run on other virtualization technology.
Without the emulator, the alternative option would be to use an actual device.
you can use a virtual machine to deploy windows phone 8 OS. Your System processor does not support hyper-v so, you can install win phone 8 on a virtual machine. you would found this link helpful.. check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WANk_XaovqM
Step which i followed; ( I already have windows 8.1 64-bit machine )
Enabled 'Virtualization / Hardware assisted virtualization' in bios. [ https://www.google.co.in/search?q=enable+virtualization+in+bios&oq=enable+virtual&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l5.5117j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8 ].
Hyper-V option came in 'windows features' after I did this step.
Later, I Became a member of Hyper-V admin group.

VisualStudio 2013 Express phone emulator - device not found

Step1: Installed VisualStudio 2013 Express for Windows along with
Update 2.
Step2: Created a blank Windows Phone App.
Step3: Deployed the app to the Emulator 8.1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB.
The Emulator Displays with the message 'Windows Phone is Starting'. Times out after about 5 minutes with the following error messages:
Error: DEP6100: The following unexpected error occurred during
bootstrapping stage 'Connection to the device':
Error: DEP6200: Bootstrapping 'Emulator 8.1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB' failed.
Device cannot be found. App deployment failed. Please try again.
Hyper-V Manager shows the phone emulator running when the app is deployed to the
Phone Emulator.
Running my existing phone 8.0 apps with VisualStudio 2012 Professonal through the
phone emulator stopped working after installing VisualStudio 2013 Express with Update 2.
I get this error:
Windows Phone Emulator is unable to connect to the Windows Phone
operating system:
The phone did not respond to the connect request.
Some functionality might be disabled.
Tried running as administrator and repairing VisualStudio 2013 Express with no effect of this problem.
Anyone having similar issues ?
I solved this problem just now. Please take all windows update. Reboot, and check again for any remaining update. This was a bug earlier as well so microsoft fixed it in first update of windows 8.1
Then check any remaining extension update for your visual studio 2013. update there as well.
Try opening a sample app, it should work.
Regards
Kajal
I had same problem . first i fixed it with:
Updating windows
Uninstall / install Windows Phone SDK 8
Remove and add Hyper-v again ( maybe it is not necessary )
But problem came back and instead of previous solution i fixed the issue with :
going to windows firewall and then click on "restore defaults"
Open Hyper-V manager. Look at all the emulators that are running and turn them all off.
Then open visual studio and deploy your app.
This will start a fresh instance of Emulator.
I had the same problem with VisualStudio 2013 Professional and the latest Windows Phone 8.1 SDK and emulators (as of December 2014).
In my case I fixed it by changing the virtual switch 'WinPhoneEmulatorSwitch' in Hyper-V Manager from 'Internal network' to 'Private network'.
I found this solution at pekari.wordpress.com
I had your same problem and after many attempts resolved it this way:
Deactivate Hyper-V (and restart computer);
Go in the Device Manager and open the Network Adapters, here uninstall everything with the name "Hyper-V...", this will allow us to reactivate Hyper-V without any conflict;
Enable Hyper-V (and restart computer);
Finally launch the emulator (if it is the first time you launch it you will have to wait 5-10 minutes, so be patient and wait for it to load all apps it need).

Register Windows Phone 7 as developer phone

I am running win 8.1 x64 and have followed this guide because I tried to resolve this message:
I have found this kb article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2468307
I have also closed zune, deleted the certificates and restarted zune. which did not help
and also tried to add a copy of the certificate to the trusted ones, as listed in the kb article.
I am becoming desperate. The ipoverusbsvc is running fine. I did register a windows phone 8 device and have this error also at an other windows phone 7. So it is just my pc and windows phone 7 devices. Have tried an htc trophy and lumia 800 the lumia 920 (wp8) works fine.
The lumia 800 has an active sim in it. the trophy does not (I think) Is it required to have zune logged in (live id)?
edit I have read somewhere that you do not need to launch zune! When I navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.1\Tools\WPConnect\x64
and run WpConnect.exe it gives this message:
Failed to connect to the device. Ensure that the device is completely booted and
is connected to the PC. (0x80070103)
But the phone is booted, swiped away the lockscreen... When I run phonereg.exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0\Tools\Phone Registration it tells me to verify that ipoverusbsrv should be up and running, which is up and running.
I also added zune to the firewall exceptions and followed these steps on the device: http://forums.wpcentral.com/developers-corner/211829-visual-studio-stopped-connecting-wp7.html
edit 2 I tried to install win 7 in a virtual pc to test if it works on that os. But I got a message that the wp sdk 8 cannot be installed on win7. it was packaged with the visual studio 2012 express for windows phone...
The device that wanted to be registered as a developer device should be logged in with a Microsoft Live account. If you can download any application from marketplace this means that phone is logged in.
Could you try again registering your device with another usb port or another micro usb cable?
The answer was to run Windows 7 in a virtual machine with Zune. It does not work on Windows 8.1 with Zune. You cannot register a Windows Phone 7 with windows 8.1
When I run phonereg.exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
SDKs\Windows Phone**v8.0**\Tools\Phone Registration
Your problem is "v8.0". I tried on a Windows 8 (not 8.1) machine running this file -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.1\Tools\Phone Registration\PhoneReg.exe
and it worked like a charm. Note the "v7.1" in the path.
I tried to install win 7 in a virtual pc to test if it works on that
os. But I got a message that the wp sdk 8 cannot be installed on win7
Correct, but irrelevant. If you want to register a WP7 phone you need to use the WP7.1 SDK
Might be a bit late, but perhaps others try to register their phone in the last minute just like me:
Windows 8.1 Pro Update (= latest version as of today)
Control Panel → Program and Features → Turn Windows features on or off → .NET Framework 3.5
Zune 4.8
Windows Phone SDK 8.0
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0\Tools\Phone Registration
I registered one phone with SIM inserted, one without.
I registered one phone with Windows Live ID, one without.
I registered one phone as Zune sync guest, one as full partner.
I registered one phone with Windows Phone 7.5, one with 7.8.
Windows Phone SDK 8.1 did not work for me.
Windows Phone SDK 7.1 did not work for me, even not in Windows 7 Ultimate (not required because the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 comes with SDK 7.1 actually). My Microsoft Account has two-step verification enabled. Now, these phones are listed in my Windows Phone Dev Center.

Windows Phone emulator won't start with a "Another Virtual Machine Manager is running." error

I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone (with SDK 7.1.1 update) and I'm trying to debug but when the emulator tries to launch, it gives me this error:
Another Virtual Machine Manager is running. Close the other Virtual
Machine Manager, wait for some duration, and relaunch the Emulator.
Anybody know what's going on? I'm running this on a physical machine (not on a VM)
Do you have the Intel (R) Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM). that's installed with the latest Android SDK?
If you have installed this component is the Windows Phone 7 emulator will spit out that error, to resolve it you have to uninstall it and reboot.

Windows Phone 7 emulator - won't run in a virtual machine, workarounds?

Macbook Pro 2011 i7 13". Mac OSX 10.6.7, bootcamp partition running Windows 7. Am running a 240GB SSD and 8GB ram, the computer is more than fast enough to run Visual Studio 2010 in a VM.
If I run Visual Studio from Bootcamp it works fine and develop my apps. Reboot into OSX and fire up the same partition using Parallels in either window or coherence mode I get the message:
Windows Phone Emulator is doing a complete OS boot...."
and the emulator, closes. I've found a few threads and posts about this:
https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/593422/windows-phone-emulator-shuts-down-computer
http://forums.create.msdn.com/forums/p/68634/481915.aspx#481915
Windows phone 7 takes forever to deploy
I understand it's not officially supported but if there is a workaround it would be amazing as I'd prefer to "live" in Mac OSX and just use Windows for Office and Visual Studio. I like this working model.
Any workarounds, any advice?
Windows Phone Emulator is a virtual machine, and you can't run a virtual machine inside another one...
Its not likely that you can do this as inside the emulator is Virtual PC, another virtual machine. It would be quite taxing to run a VM inside a VM.
