last row of uicollectionview is not visible while scrolling - scroll

I created UiCollectionView programmatically. This is my code snippet...
UICollectionViewFlowLayout *layout=[[UICollectionViewFlowLayout alloc] init];
collectionV=[[UICollectionView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 500) collectionViewLayout:layout];
[collectionV setDataSource:self];
[collectionV setDelegate:self];
[collectionV registerClass:[UICollectionViewCell class] forCellWithReuseIdentifier:#"cellIdentifier"];
[collectionV setBackgroundColor:[UIColor greenColor]];
collectionV.scrollEnabled = YES;
[self.view addSubView:CollectionV];
My problem is I could not see the last row while scrolling. Anybody help me to fix it.
Thanks in advance.

Activity Indicator will not go away

I am using the following code to show an Activity Indicator while some data is loading. The problem is that when I try to hide it again. The Activity Indicator stays put. The screen lightens a bit but that is it.
To show it:
self.overlayView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds];
self.overlayView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:0 green:0 blue:0 alpha:0.3];
self.activityIndicator = [[UIActivityIndicatorView alloc] initWithActivityIndicatorStyle:UIActivityIndicatorViewStyleWhiteLarge];
self.activityIndicator.center = self.overlayView.center;
[self.overlayView addSubview:self.activityIndicator];
[self.activityIndicator startAnimating];
[self.tableView addSubview:self.overlayView];
To hide it:
[self.activityIndicator stopAnimating];
[self.overlayView removeFromSuperview];
Try to add your overlayView to the superview of your tableView :
[self.view.superview addSubview:self.overlayView];
I figured it out with a combination of stackoverflow questions. Here is my code to show the UIActivityIndicatorView
-(void)loadView {
[super loadView];
self.overlayView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds];
self.overlayView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:0 green:0 blue:0 alpha:0.3];
self.activityIndicator = [[UIActivityIndicatorView alloc] initWithActivityIndicatorStyle:UIActivityIndicatorViewStyleWhiteLarge];
self.activityIndicator.center = self.overlayView.center;
[self.overlayView addSubview:self.activityIndicator];
[self.tableView addSubview:self.overlayView];
[self.activityIndicator startAnimating];
}
Here is the code to hide it. It looks like putting the code in the loadView event made all the difference.
[overlayView removeFromSuperview];

Active buttons in scrollview

I have a source code where the main screen has 10 buttons (images buttons), each button is linked to sql database with tableview items, in the XIB I select which tag for each button, 1, 2, 3, 4..
I want make these buttons to scroll, how to do so?
I tried to convert the view into scrollview, then I have deleted the images, and created buttons in the scrollview, but now I do not know how to link each of the button to its tag in the tableview?
below is what I used:
#implementation mainViewController;
#synthesize master;
#synthesize model;
(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated{
UIScrollView *scrollview=[[UIScrollView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,320,480)];
scrollview.showsVerticalScrollIndicator=YES;
scrollview.scrollEnabled=YES;
scrollview.userInteractionEnabled=YES;
[self.view addSubview:scrollview];
scrollview.contentSize = CGSizeMake(320,960);//You Can Edit this with your require
scrollview.pagingEnabled=YES;
UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[button addTarget:self action:#selector(aMethod:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchDown];
[button setTitle:#"Show View" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
button.frame = CGRectMake(80.0, 210.0, 160.0, 40.0);
UIImageView* imageview1 =[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"c1#2x.png"]];
imageview1.frame=CGRectMake(18.0, 18, 285,50);
[scrollview addSubview:imageview1];
UIImageView* imageview2 =[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"c2#2x.png"]];
imageview2.frame=CGRectMake(18.0, 78, 285,50);
[scrollview addSubview:imageview2];
UIImageView* imageview3 =[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"c3#2x.png"]];
imageview3.frame=CGRectMake(18.0, 138, 285,50);
[scrollview addSubview:imageview3];
UIImageView* imageview4 =[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"c4#2x.png"]];
imageview4.frame=CGRectMake(18.0, 198, 285,50);
[scrollview addSubview:imageview4];
Assingn a tag to the button when you create it:
[buttonName setTag:1];
[buttonName addTarget:self action:#selector(aMethod:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchDown];
Then use:
-(void)aMethod:(UIButton *)button {
if ([button tag] == 1) {
...do something...
}
}
Hope this helps.

Resize the UIViewController View

I am new in iPhone/Ipad Application development and Just learning the UIViewController, UIView etc with Xcode and while using uiviewcontroller want to resize but my tricks logic are not working. please let me know if you have any Idea with this.
Thanks
i think your are looking like this.
(IBAction)buttonPressed:(id)sender
{
menuView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"bgground.jpg"]];// i used 1 view name is menuView
UIViewController *menu =[[UIViewController alloc] init];menu.view = menuView;
[menu setModalTransitionStyle:UIModalTransitionStylePartialCurl];
[self presentModalViewController:menu animated:YES];
[menu release];
}
After resize try this code
UIViewController* view = [[UIViewController alloc] init];
[self presentModalViewController: view animated: NO];
[self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated: NO];
[view release];

InputAccessoryView of a UITextField

I need to stick a toolBar with a UITextField inside to a keyboard.
What if I make the whole toolBar (which I think is the textField's super view) the inputAccessoryView of its textField?
I mean like this:
textField.inputAccessoryView = toolBar; // textField is inside the toolBar
I've been trying on this but I have not made it work yet.
Anyone can help?
Or is there another way to achieve what I want?
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[self createAccessoryView];
[textField setDelegate:self];
[textField setKeyboardType:UIKeyboardTypeDefault];
[textField setInputAccessoryView:fieldAccessoryView];
}
- (void)createAccessoryView
{
CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0.0, self.view.bounds.size.height, self.view.bounds.size.width, 44.0);
fieldAccessoryView = [[UIToolbar alloc] initWithFrame:frame];
fieldAccessoryView.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackOpaque;
fieldAccessoryView.tag = 200;
[fieldAccessoryView setBarStyle:UIBarStyleBlack];
UIBarButtonItem *spaceButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemFlexibleSpace target:nil action:nil];
UIBarButtonItem *doneButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemDone target:self action:#selector(done:)];
UISegmentedControl* segmentedControl = [[UISegmentedControl alloc] initWithItems:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:NSLocalizedString(#"Previous", #""), NSLocalizedString(#"Next", #""), nil]];
[segmentedControl addTarget:self action:#selector(segmentAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged];
segmentedControl.segmentedControlStyle = UISegmentedControlStyleBar;
[segmentedControl setMomentary:YES];
UIBarButtonItem *segmentButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithCustomView:segmentedControl];
[fieldAccessoryView setItems:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:segmentButton, spaceButton, doneButton, nil] animated:NO];
[segmentButton release];
[spaceButton release];
[doneButton release];
[segmentedControl release];
}
When are you setting the property? You may be setting it after the view has already loaded.
Try setting it in
- (void) viewDidLoad

Xcode - UILabel is not changing value on viewDidAppear

Hey everyone, I have a iPhone App I am creating. It uses a uitableview and that goes to a detail view.
Now on the detail view I have a scroll view, and all the data (XML) comes into it fine, each time, no issues.
My UILabels in my scrollview do update with the correct data, but, they keep adding subviews on top of each other to keep adding label after label and it all looks mumbo jumbo.
I have tried everything to try and remove the subviews such as:
for(UIView *subview in [scrollView subviews]) {
[subview removeFromSuperview];
}
AND
[[scrollView subviews] makeObjectsPerformSelector:#selector(removeFromSuperview)];
So I am stumped, I got no idea what is happening. Any help? I have been searching Google for ages and agesm, but keep finding the same answers that don't work :(
Any direction to sites that might help that you know of will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Here is what I have in my controller that loads all the scrollview and labels:
- (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated {
// Create the scroll view for this view
UIScrollView *scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.frame];
scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(320, 270);
[scrollView setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 198, 320, 170)];
// Do the labels for the text
UILabel *dates = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:scrollView.bounds];
dates.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
dates.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:12];
dates.text = round_date;
dates.tag = 1;
[dates setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
[dates setFrame:CGRectMake(10, 10, 280, 22)];
[scrollView addSubview:dates];
[dates release];
// Add the content to the main scrollview
[self.view addSubview:scrollView];
[scrollView release];
}
Ok, the reason for this is that viewDidAppear will get called every time you present the view.
If you do this is
-(void) viewDidLoad;
instead.
To make sure you can access them later you might want to keep a reference to them in your UIViewController
-(void) viewDidLoad {
scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame];
[self.view addSubview:scrollView];
}
and define it in your header file with:
UIScrollView *scrollView;
