I'm using the context menu plugin for jqgrid. I know how to remove a menu item if not needed (ContextMenu plugin - Example 3).
Is there a way to show the menu item but to disable the action? Like in every other program if an action is not available in a specific context?
Thanks for your anwsers in advance. :-)

I need to display a context menu when a user right clicks on a report
and the user can perform an action on the rows selected. How to achieve this?
I can see there is already an action button on top of an interactive report. Can we customize that?
There's no built in way to do this. I see a few options:
You could hack together your own actions. You would add a Dynamic Event on mousedown on your report, then some Javascript to handle the action.
If it doesn't have to be a right click option, you can add a custom menu to a report. Here's one way of doing it. http://hardlikesoftware.com/weblog/2015/07/13/apex-5-0-custom-menus/
Also, if using the Interactive Grid is an option, that menu can also be customized. See: http://hardlikesoftware.com/weblog/2017/01/24/how-to-hack-apex-interactive-grid-part-2/
If you're willing to use a commercial Apex add-on product, I have used the FOEX add-ons with great success. However, it's not cheap and it would require changing your report to use their report-style (which we like). Then you can add a context menu that's maintained via the Shared Components -> Lists.

I'm just a user, not a shill or employee...
Is there any way how to get menu item after this menu item has been saved in backend of the joomla (2.5) application. I mean something like event after save of article or category (onContentAfterSave) but after save menu item.
Thanks,
Looking at the com_menus/controller/item->save() or the com_menus/models/item->save() methods there are no trigger events that you could work with.
If you can provide more details of what you want to do with it there may be another way to solve your problem.
Currently, I am working on asp.net mvc2 project which has a view containing three dropdown controls. I am also using jqGrid for displaying the data in the application. The jQGrid is displayed with buttons called Add,Edit,Search in the footer section. I need to disable and enable the Search button dynamically. If the user selects any item from dropdown1 and dropdown2 then I need to disable the Search button and in case the user selects any item from dropdown3 then I need to enable the Search button.
I am new to jQGrid implementation. Can anyone help me with some sample code to handle the above functionality.

I would recommend you to read the answer and another one. The answers shows how one can hide/show or enable/disable buttons from the navigator bar. You can use onSelectRow or beforeSelectRow callback to disable/enable/hide/show the navigator buttons dynamically.
Iam have some problems with a drop down menu. I have asigned a drop down menu to the menu item "test 1". But when iam on the default page it wont show the drop down menu, when i hover the item. It only works when click on the menu item "test 1".
I need the dropdown menu to be showed, no matter witch page you are watching.
Can some one help me? I guess it is a simple styling, but cant seem to figure it out.
You can see the website here
What module are you using for the menu system?
You may try using a different menu extension that the one being used currently.
It may be a CSS issue.
I have downloaded this template to my joomla 2.5.6 and I'm trying to create a horizontal menu. I have created menu and module that should be displaying that menu. I have set position to user3 (as I've read that is the default position for horizontal menu), but nothing showed up.
The only positions I can see my menu on are "search" and "top-panel".
Can anybody please guide me how to find what may cause the problem?
EDIT: I have renamed the menu to "menu1" and so did with "menu type" and it has showed up. Why? Where's any logic?
Thank you !
Make sure you have set on which pages to activate the menu:
You can find these settings in the module manager > your menu
check the positions using ?tp=1 at the end of your url
log in to your joomla backend.
go to article manager and create an article..
go to menu manager and create a new menu, select your article which will me mostly a single article if you have created others then choose others, such as featured article or others,
then on the same page on required setting choose the article you have created.
save and close..
now go to
module manager,
go to the menu or content menu or horizontal menu,
down below there will be menu assignment,
choose the menu and show to it all pages..
hope this will help you..
