How to add floating window to my silver light dynamically? - ajax

I have list of Activity in my Database which shows in treeview nodes in Ajax, after clicking each nodes it calles different webpart and add to my Ajax screen App.
Want to know is it possible to do the same thing with silverlight floating window?
which I want to show task on treeview, and by clicking node invoking childwindow or floatingwindow in silverlight.
In Ajax we have webpart URL which by passing the url we can add it to main page.
Anybody can help plz.

Yes, the same sort of thing can be done in Silverlight.

Yes it is possible,
If you want to open a child window when clicking a node, this how you need to show up your child window,
ChildWindow cw = new ChildWindow();
cw.Show();
add this to your node click event, in order to capture the childwindow properties you can add a closing event and do whatever you want.

Replace a view in splitter window during runtime in mfc vs2010

I would like to know a way to change the view of a particular pane in a splitter window.
It should be something like an explorer window. Where on click of any tree branch on left side of window right hand side view updates.
Similarily i would like to update my view. On click of any tree node a new pane should be displayed at the same position overriding the previous pane.
sample code would be highly appreciated
Do you really need to replace view or just change what view displays?
By replacing view I mean use different window; for example: replaced CEdit derived view with CFormView derived.
Could you please explain in greater detail what you are trying to accomplish?

Flex Components are not getting refreshed

Hi We are using Flex 4 in our project on UI side. On loading the application dashboard, we get a set of pods. We click on a pod and the pod view opens. This pod view contains datagrid with the first column as a hyperlink. When you click on hyperlink another screen opens which is our module screen.
This module screen has a SUBMIT button on top and a couple of datagrids. Now we load data in the grids using RemoteObject. The parent container for each of the grid is a WindowShade Component.
Now our requirement is that the user can make modifications in one or both of the grids and click SUBMIT. Depending upon which grid the user has modified I want to make the corresponding Window shade as read only. IF the user modifies both the grids, I need to make both the Window Shade components as read only and disable the SUBMIT button. The user should be able to see this change immediately on click of SUBMIT without closing the screen or navigating away from the screen.
When the user opens screen for the first time, we get some statuses from backend and Depending upon these statuses, I make the Window shades as read only and enable/disable the buttons. When I click SUBMIT, I still hit the backend and get the status but no enabling/disabling of buttons or window shade happens.
I have written the logic for enabling/disabling in the updateComplete method of my mxml file for which swf is created.
the updateComplete gets called when user opens screen for the first time.It does not get called when the user clicks SUBMIT. why is it so?
I have tried using Loader and SWFLoader to load my SWF file as below but it is not working either.
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("com/citi/risk/credit/maintenance/view/widgets/CRCMaintenanceModule.swf");
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
loader.load(request);
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Two things you may want to consider:
1) In short, FlexEvent.UPDATE_COMPLETE is an event that gets dispatched has completed rendering itself (gone through a Flex component life cycle). This could happen once, or many times depending on how often the component changes and it's state needs to be re-rendered.
The frequency/timing of this event will vary based on the object that is dispatching it. For example a container that is being resized will dispatch this numerous time. A label that never changes may only do it once.
Instead, you should consider adding a "creationComplete" (FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE) event listener. "creationComplete" only happens once, you can add the listener to any object that contains the submit button.
2) When you click submit, the object you've added the "updateComplete" listener to probably hasn't changed enough to go through Flex's component life cycle. So no event is dispatched.
The answer to why this doesn't happen actually depends on which object you have added the event listener to.
Have you tried using a "click" handler on the submit button, so you could disable the appropriate elements when the button is clicked? Again, the "click" event will happen only once, unlike "updateComplete" ;)

How i Scroll web browser control in wp7

i want to swipe webbrowser Control which is on pivot item ,each pivot item
has a web control .i want to swipe with web browser control .
but i don't have any idea.but swiping is necessary in my project .is there any method to doing this if yes then please send me sample code for this ..
This is a bind if you have some different sections of HTML you want to display in a Pivot. If you are targetting WP7 Mango it might be possible for you to convert your HTML to RTF and then use a RichTextBox instead of a WebBrowser. However if your HTML is fairly complex, this probably isn't going to work for you.
Alternatively you could place your WebBrowser in a pivot item with a transparent Rectangle above it in the Z-order. Make sure that Rectangle swallows any gestures and doesn't pass them through to the WebBrowser control - that way you will be able to swipe left and right on the WebBrowser to get the pivot to move.
Next you can use the GestureService on this transparent rectangle to recognize vertical pans/swipes and taps to take you to a full page view of your WebBrowser content. In this full page view you would have a fully interactive WebBrowser control.
You have an issue with competing gestures. Try setting the WebBrowser control to IsHitTestVisible to false. This will mean that you'll be unable to manipulate or scroll the content of the WebBrowser control though.
shanu: if you still need it, check my recent answer at: WP7 Pivot control and a WebBrowser control
There's a bit of info on how to "hack into" the webbrowser and what to do, to (almost) prevent it from stealing your swipes. If you are insane/masochistic enough to try that approach I described there, then in addition to that eventhandling and other configuration/detection, you will have to drive your pivot manually via relevant pivot.selectedindex++/-- on H-swipes detected with your handlers (or you can separate blocking and observing with gesture listener, that may sometimes result in the code being a bit cleaner). I also think you will have to be careful with the selectedindex near to the page ranges. I dont know how pivot behaves if you order it to go further than you page count, and I dont know either if it will animate correctly, if being on the last page you order it to go "wrap around" and go to page 0 via selectedindex=0. It may get "crazy" and rewind back instead of going forward in a circular fashion.. you will have to experiment with that

How do I build a toolbar in my title bar?

I have to implement a custom toolbar for my application, where a button will be placed on the side of exit, maximize and minimize buttons.
I tried to work with the toolbar element on XCode, but it always put elements below these buttons and not on the side.
App Store application implement this feature, like you can see in this image.
One solution is to start with this open source code (https://github.com/indragiek/INAppStoreWindow) to give you the correct title bar style, and then position buttons in the titlebar.

How to keep list view control on top of other window?

I am working on a sample which contains list view to display list of names in the data base. Once the application is launched list view will be invisible. After clicking on some button I am making it to visible. If I make it to visible the control bellow the list view are also visible. And I have button bellow that control, once I hove on the list view the button also displays over the list view.
Please let me now how to solve this problem.
It sounds like you have child windows on top of each other in a dialog. Use ShowWindow(SW_HIDE) to hide the windows that are 'underneath'. So when you make the listview visible, hide the button that is underneath.
On the windows desktop, application windows will properly hide other windows that are underneath one another, but in a dialog, different styles are used, and you have to be careful not to let controls overlap or they can draw on top of each other. Instead you need to hide the ones that you don't want to be visible.
