If I want to find post has comment, it's like
Post::with('comments')->has('comments');
In my case, I have a comments table, only has one reply for each comment, therefore, the structure is
comments table
id
name
comment_id
Comment model
public function reply() {
return $this->hasOne('comment', 'comment_id');
}
If I want to find topic
Comment::whereNull('comment_id');
But if I want to find out comment has reply
Comment::whereNull('comment_id')->has('reply');
It will be empty, how to find out comment has and not has reply by this structure
You're missing the return in your relationship:
public function reply() {
return $this->hasOne('Comment');
}
You may also find you need to define the foreign key:
public function reply() {
return $this->hasOne('Comment', 'comment_id');
}

I'm having a problem while creating a Forum with Laravel 5.7
I want to have these three models: User, Category, Thread and Post. The problem is that i don't how to define one of my Thread model relationships.
This model has a creator:
public function creator()

return $this->belongsTo('App\User');
}
...it has a series of replies:
public function replies()
{
return $this->hasMany('App\Post');
}
...and, finally, participants:
public function participants()
{
return $this->hasManyThrough('App\User', '???')
}
I should get the thread participants through its replies but it don't know if i should put the post class like this:
public function participants()
{
return $this->hasManyThrough('App\User', 'App\Post')
}
...or if this is an special case with some considerations. Any help?
Since posts acts as a pivot table, a BelongsToMany relationship is the better choice here:
public function participants()
{
return $this->belongsToMany('App\User', 'posts');
}
I wanted to get data which is related to an id and I used the find($id) method to get those data, now I wanna get data from two tables which have one to many relationship.
How can I get data which is related to the same id from two table?
I try to this way but it hasn't worked:

Why you dont use with() I have simple solution but maybe not best solution:
Post::with('pets')->where('id',$id)->first();
Maybe below code is work to i dont test it:
Post::with('pets')->find($id);
Of course you should have comments method in your Post Object:

You need to first define a relationship between your Client model and Pet model
So, in App\Client, you would have the following relationship:
public function pets()
{
return $this->hasMany(Pet::class);
}
and in App\Pet, you would have the following relationship:
public function client()
{
return $this->belongsTo(Client::class)
}
You should then be able to do this in your Controller:
public function show($id)
{
$post = Client::with('pets')->find($id);
return view('pet.shw')
->withPost($post);
}
and accesses your relationship like this in the pet.shw view:
foreach($post->pets as $pet) {}

I have relations like : a secteur has many sections, a section has many users, so a user belongs to a section and a section belongs to a secteur.
In Secteur model
public function sections()

In Section model

Now i'm trying to get all the users who belongs to a secteur, for that i need to retrieve all sections from the secteur and all users who belongs to all sections i've got.

Eloquent has a hasManyThrough relationship which may be what you want.
On secteur, you can add this:
public function users()
{
return $this->hasManyThrough(User::class, Section::class);
}
As the docs state:
"The first argument passed to the hasManyThrough method is the name of
the final model we wish to access, while the second argument is the
name of the intermediate model."
You can also pass keys as additional arguments if you need to, but the ones you're using above look like the defaults and if they are you can omit them.
This is the case I have
$user = User_picture::where('is_main','=',1)->where('user_id','=',Auth::user()->id);
This means a user has many pictures but there is only one picture that has is_main value 1.
I tried this.

This doesn't return anything but an error that says it should be an object. Can anyone help me out with the case?
HasMany is meant to return a collection since it is a one to many relationship method.
If you only want to return one result, you should use HasOne with conditions. To define conditions, you use where() not find(). Find() is only used to match the model's primary key.

What I am trying to do is the following:

But It says its null, it works till $company->Income->IncomeUnitSale but after that doest't show any relation.
Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong?

hasMany relationships will always return an Eloquent Collection object. If there are no related records, it will just be an empty Collection. hasOne and belongsTo relationships will always return either the related Model, or null if there is no related model.
Because some of your relationships are hasMany, you have to iterate the returned Collection to be able to go further. So, instead of $company->Income->IncomeUnitSale->IncomeUnitSaleUnitPrice, you have to:
foreach($company->Income as $income) {
foreach($income->IncomeUnitSale as $sale) {
echo $sale->IncomeUnitSaleUnitPrice->price;
}
