Exception in executing publishing in VS2013 - webforms

I have a asp.net web forms template with individual accounts without any modifications. When I try to publish this application to my web server I'm receiving the following error:
Exception in executing Publishing: Cannot load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Web.Azure.Contracts, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture neutral, PublishKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Has anyone else ever received this error? I'm getting the error message after I right click on my project and select 'publish'. I've done some googling but haven't found any solutions.
I'm not sure if it matters, but the version of VS I'm using is Visual Studio Professional 2013 and my webforms project is .NET 4.5
Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need to install Windows Azure SDK for .NET (VS 2013) by following these steps:
Go to http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/downloads and on click the
“VS 2013 Install” link under .NET category
Download and install the Windows Azure SDK installer which uses
Microsoft’s WPI (Web Platform Installer)

Please try these steps:
1) Launch regedit as Administrators
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{7C0FFAB0-CD84-11D0-949A-00A0C91110ED}\1.0-->Right click-->launch Permissions -> Advanced
Ensure the Owner is SYSTEM
System and Administrator have Full Control to keys and subkeys.
Meanwhile, please check if you have specialized anti-virus, app-blocker, or GPO phased permission software installed that maybe be denying access to this key.
3) then do a reboot and after that, try to temporarily disable the anti-virus software and then run VS Installer as administrator to repair your installation.
In addition, if these does not work, please reinstall VS2017(please install the VS2017 15.9 which is the latest VS2017 version) under this link.
After you uninstall VS2017, please check if you have this: %programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\resources\app\layout\InstallCleanup.exe.
If so, please launch it from an admin command prompt with a -full param: InstallCleanup.exe -full
If not, please manually delete the %programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer folder
And then insatll VS2017 under my link and please remember to run it as admin.
Hope it could help you.

Cannot install Visual Studio 2017 due to Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration package install failure

I cannot install the above mentioned package, which is requied to proceed the Visual Studio install. I checked on Microsoft's forums for solution but no luck.
I unchecked read-only checkbox in the root of the directory, also manually recreated x64 and x86 folders. The permissions on the users are as they should be also the cleaner app didn't help. I am using the 1809 Windows edition. The current VS version is 15.9.4.

I contacted the Microsoft support over chat, but didn't get any further. I was told to try to install an earlier release. I ended up formatting my SSD and installing all the software all over. It luckily succeeded. I am providing a vslogs overview of the error, before the format.

Develop an Azure Service Fabric Application with Visual Studio 2017 for Mac

my team is creating an Azure Service Fabric application using ASP.NET/Dotnet Core. Whenever I try to import the project into my Visual Studio 2017 for Mac I get the error
Error while trying to load the project '.../Project.sfproj: Unknown solution item type'
The solution contains several projects, some with a csproj (which I can open just fine), and some with a sfproj, that cause the problems. I can't even browse them in VS2017:
I can run msbuild from the shell (get some Compiler errors, but that's fine), but cannot manage to load the project into my IDE. I guess I'm missing the Service Fabric SDK, but that is not available for mac afaik. I managed to pull some jars from the vagrant image, as described here but that doesn't help me in a ASP.NET/Dotnet Core application.
Unfortunately, this feature is currently not available. If anyone wants it, vote for it on the visual studio user voice page.

visual studio 2017 publish error

Using WebDeploy to publish to an Azure Web Site fails with error:
Error The target "GetCopyToPublishDirectoryItems" does not exist in the project.
Visual Studio 2017 RC - latest download
I created an empty ASP .net Core web project with 4.61 .net version
I created an empty Library with 4.61 .net version
I added the library as a dependency of the web project
I rebuilt the project
I published with web deploy - and got the error
I am using Windows 10
The same happened on a friend computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Looks like this is a known issue with a fix forthcoming. The following Github issue page has several workarounds:

Error on Installation of MVC3 at Windows 7 -32 Bit Operating System

I want to run MVC 3 on my Windows 7 32 Bit machine. I have Visual Studio 2010 and I can create ASP.NET MVC2 projects there. But now, I want to install MVC 3 in my machine. So,
I tried the online installation using Web Platform Installer from http://www.asp.net/mvc/mvc3 link. After installation, I didn't find the ASP.NET MVC 3 Web Project Template in my Visual Studio 2010 Project Templates.
So I again downloaded the Offline Installer from same link. But I got error when I ran the installer. Clicking on the Log file I got:
OS Version = 6.1.7600, Platform 2
OS Description = Windows 7 - x86 Ultimate Edition
CommandLine = h:\temp\ext6142\setup.exe
Using Simultaneous Download and Install mechanism
Operation: Installing
Package Name = Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 3
Package Version = 3.0.11209.0
User Experience Data Collection Policy: Disabled
Number of applicable items: 6
Exe (h:\temp\ext6142\VS10-KB2465236-x86.exe) succeeded.
MSI (h:\temp\ext6142\AspNetWebPages.msi) Installation failed. Msi Log: Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 3_20110118_142652087-MSI_AspNetWebPages.msi.txt
Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation. " (Elapsed time: 0 00:01:39).
After installing from web platform, I didn't check the selected .NET Framework Version in Visual Studio Project Template when I wanted to create a new project in MVC 3. Default .NET Framework was 3.5 in the visual studio of my machine. So MVC 3 project template wasn't showing in the project templates.
And, without uninstalling the existing MVC 3, when I again wanted to install MVC 3 from offline installer, I got the error I mentioned in my question. It may happened because either performing same installation or the file was corrupted at the time of downloading or any other issue.
Later, after uninstalling MVC 3 from control panel, I again run the web platform installer to install the MVC 3 and this time I check the selected .NET version. I selected .NET Framework 4 and MVC 3 project template is now appeared in visual studio's project templates.
My computer had trouble uninstalling an older MVC3 RC. Fix:
Remove the trailing backslash from the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ASP.NET\4.0.30319.0\Path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ASP.NET\4.0.30319.0\Path
Uninstalled the old version of "Microsoft ASP.NET Web Pages".
Add the trailing backslash back to those keys.
Install MVC 3.
Full uninstall instructions:
http://drew-prog.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-uninstall-microsoft-aspnet-mvc-3.html
In any case it's good idea to download the offline installer. The web one doesn't care about error messages, and just shows success.
In my case it was c# async CTP that was blocking the installation - the offline installer at least told me so:)
