As our projects are growing very fast, we are interested in features of Visual Studio 2013 like Profiling and IntelliTrace, which our current IDE (Visual Studio 2008 standard) can not offer.
However, we are not interested in a MSDN subscription. According to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Visual_Studio#Editions_feature_grid
we need the ultimate edition.
According to this link (which was already hard to find)
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/mseea/en_US/list/VisualStudio/parentCategoryID.66235500/categoryID.66235600
the ultimate edition is only available with MSDN.
Does "MSDN integration == full" of the first link imply that vs 2013 ultimate is only available with a MSDN subscription?
Only VS Professional is available with or without MSDN, all other versions include a MSDN subscription

I try to install Entity Framework Power Tools for Visual Studio 2017 but it does not see Visual Studio 2017. What should I do?
I have a "preview" build published here: https://github.com/aspnet/EntityFramework6/pull/154#issuecomment-267394589 and the EF team plans to release sometime "soon"
UPDATE I have now released a VS 2015/2017 version on VS MarketPlace

I am trying to find a way to turn the comments I generate in Visual Studio using /// into HTML. It appears that GhostDoc Pro will do this for me. And all that GhostDoc Free will do, is generate the comments in Visual Studio.
From what I can tell based on their website is that all GhostDoc Free does is generate the exact same comments that you can do in Visual Studio. The only difference is pressed Ctrl Shift D opposed to ///.
I doubt such a popular free extension to Visual Studio can only do what Visual Studio already does, and that I am just misunderstanding their website. So in addition to doing what Visual Studio already does, what does GhostDoc Free do?
I am trying to determine if I need the Pro version to externalize my documentation, but I am also curious if the free version actually does anything.
I'm with SubMain, the company that makes GhostDoc. I wanted to list the things that the Community (free) edition of GhostDoc does over the built in Visual Studio but there is actually way too many enhancements to cover. So, instead, I thought I would link to the product edition comparison so you could pick the features in the GhostDoc community column that are relevant to your needs - http://submain.com/ghostdoc/editions/?show=expandall
Thanks!

I've problem in installing xamarin on visual studio 2013 it close when the started launch?!?
It say unhandled exception and visual studio restart.
Have you tried running the installer as administrator?
This is possibly not relevant in your case, but you should also realize that you need to have a "Business" level license of Xamarin to run the Visual Studio tools. Look at the pricing matrix here:
https://store.xamarin.com/
I ran a 30-day free trial of Xamarin business and was able to integrate in Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate.

I am using Windows 7 32-bit OS. I want to install Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010.
Please share any links which provides the free full version of these softwares.
Thanks a lot for your time..
Well, you'll find all the steps explained once you buy the software packages. :)
But till then, you can download the free Express Editions as well.
I'm not sure if older versions are still available, but be careful if you're trying to download them from third party sites.

Whats the "real world" difference between Visual Studio Ultimate and Premium?
The comparison table here summarises the differences between Ultimate and Premium - not the inclusion of some extra features at Ultimate level (e.g. lab management and full architecture and modelling model).
Biggest difference is the crippling price of Visual Studio Ultimate.
IntelliTrace
Historical debugging can be very useful
Ultimate also has additional architecture and testing features.
