I'm hoping to add a flag to my menu-bar application.

Is there a Unicode character for each country's flag?
How would I add an image to the menu bar? What are the dimensions, resolution, and supported image types?
No there is not a Unicode character or emoji for each flag at this time.
You can set the image of the NSStatusItem instance and change it using setImage:
It's a fairly flexible class and you can do other things also for this.
One note, you should take pains to ensure yours is not confused with the input menu. That would be bad for users.

What I want to accomplish:
I need a checkbox with a title text that dynamically wraps and breaks on multiple lines depending on a dynamic width established by the parent view. I need a solution that I can use in IB and that will display there as it's shown at runtime. I'm using XCode 13.1, working in a XIB-File targetting MacOS.
What I'm doing:
I create an NSButton in IB. In the attributes inspector I set its style to Check, under "Control" I choose Word Wrap for "Line Break" and finally I set a very long text as the title such as Asd Asd Asd lit tle words and many of them asd asd lit tle ones.
What's happening:
When setting up the button as described above (case 1) and shrinking its width, it will be displayed - in IB and at runtime - like this:
When manually adding a line break to the title as suggested in this similar question by pressing Option + Enter (case 2, here after "them") the title starts wrapping correctly and all the other necessary breaks are generated:
However this solution is not applicable for my case since it only works for a static width, but my checkboxes need to adjust their width dynamically as described above.
Without that additional manual line break it's most interesting that apparently the checkbox is already reacting and changing its position according to the new wrapped height of the title while the title text itself is just clipped by the bounds of the control instead of being displayed in a wrapped fashion.
What I'd expect:
I'd expect the title to wrap in case 1. Since it doesn't: Is this a bug or a feature? How can I make case 1 work and get the title to wrap dynamically depending on its length and the width of the button? Do I just need to set another attribute in the inspector I missed so far? Or is there only a programmatic solution?
To answer the question why I don't use an appropriately short label: Don't ask me, I'm just a developer following specs & reqs and unfortunately I don't have a saying on what would be a good length of text here.
The credits for this answer goes to #Willeke's comment: "AppKit doesn't support multiline checkboxes." The interesting behaviour of the checkbox in case 1 suggesting otherwise seems to be just a glitch or bug.
What I ended up with: I opted for a workaround. I'm placing a checkbox-button (with Image Position "Image only" in IB) right beside a multiline-label, putting both in a custom view, adding the necessary constraints. With a few positioning adjustments I know have a solution that looks exactly like a singleline checkbox, that I can copy-paste in IB and that is solved by Autolayout - in IB and at runtime - without any additional code.
I'm working on adding support in my app for full-height sidebars, as introduced in macOS 11.
The trick is, when the window tab bar is visible, I want to turn the full-height sidebar off. The two don't mix well when the sidebar content is different in each window, as it is in my app. See Xcode for an example of what I want to do (View > Show Window Tab Bar). See Preview for an example of what I want to avoid (open two multi-page PDFs and put them in a single tabbed window).
What's working:
I observe the window's tabbedWindows property, and toggle the fullSizeContentView flag in its styleMask accordingly. Thus the window's style updates as needed when I hide and show the tab bar.
What's not working: I need to have a sidebarTrackingSeparator item in my toolbar in order to have some items above the sidebar. But when fullSizeContentView is off, that item appears as a plain separator. I don't want it to be visible at all in that state.
There isn't a straightforward way to hide a toolbar item, especially if it doesn't have a view, which it turns out this one doesn't.
I tried removing the separator item and re-adding it when the window state toggles, but that leads to Cocoa throwing exceptions, complaining that only one tracking item can be registered at a time. This would seem to be a bug, but Xcode manages it somehow.
So how can I properly toggle my window and toolbar state without having that visible separator?
It looks like I've solved the problem by saving the separator item when I see it in toolbarWillAddItem, and then returning it from toolbar(_:itemForItemIdentifier:willBeInsertedIntoToolbar:) to avoid having a new instance created. That way, removing and re-adding the item works without having exceptions thrown.
The last little snag was to not remove and re-add the separator blindly. The window state may have been preserved across app launches, so I needed to not make assumptions about how the window would initially appear.
I am using SWT tables in my project and there are few columns which are having longer strings which are not completely visible by default (for ex. path to a file location). Though I have tooltip to show the content and using mouse we can increase the column width to see the complete value.
Is there a way to do it with only keyboard usage?

The following answer is based on my experience under windows. It can be different for other OS.
I'm afraid that there's no keyboard-only default way to adjust the size or reorder the column in a table, tree view or list view.
This is true not only with SWT but also with all other frameworks based on native win32 such as wxWidgets.
You must provide a keyboard-only way to resize and reorder columns yourself. here are a few ideas implemented by some applications:
Provide an option somewhere in the application that opens a dialog box with a checkbox list of the different columns. Ctrl+Up/Down to swap two items. Check/uncheck an item with spacebar to make the column visible or invisible.
Make the headers focusable. Use Shift+Left/Right to resize, Ctrl+Left/Right to swap two columns. Application key / Shift+10 opens a context menu where you can check/uncheck columns to show/hide and an option to open the column selection dialog box.
Some screen readers allow to do it by simulating mouse operation in some way. For example, use Jaws cursor, click lock on a header, release lock on the header to swap with.
But it's quite complicated, not always reliable, and thus very rarely actually used.

Unfortunately, I don't think it exists.
I want users entering data across multiple tabs to be able to see at a glance whether and where they have validation errors / fields not populated. I can indicate errors for the selected form in the form body, but for unselected tabs I want to use red color and/or a red icon in the tab to indicate if it is failing validation.
I see various posts explaining how to use a custom renderer or effect to set tab text color for all tabs or selected/unselected tabs (e.g. here, here, here modifying the framework itself and here). However, the posts I've seen do not show a way to change the color of a SPECIFIC tab. In this case I want to either change the color or add/remove an error icon that would show beside the Title in the tab header based on the validation results for the page accessed via the tab. Is that possible?

I also found this - seemed more promising because it does seem to change tabs based on their positions or title rather than just on whether they were selected or not, but it seems to be dependent on using bottom tabs, which I'm not doing.
I also have found this, and element.Children[i] does get me the ContentPage from which I can determine what color I want the tab's test to be, and it's possible that the tab variable that's returned by activity.ActionBar.GetTabAt(i) somehow gives me access to update the tab's text color, but I'm not seeing any method or property that seems promising - basically I still don't see how to get access to the UITabBarItem so I can call SetTitleAndAttributes on it to set its text color. (Also, if I declare the tab variable by its type of Android.App.ActionBar.Tab instead of using var, I get a note saying that type has been deprecated. It seems upon investigation that the whole ActionBar class has been deprecated. But how can that be when it still exists as a property of Android.App.Activity, which is not deprecated?)

In XUL, how do you draw a menu (or any other content) where the title bar normally is?
This picture is NOT an XUL app, but it illustrates what I'm trying to accomplish:
Notice how the menu at the top is in-line with the min/max/close buttons.
In the Mozilla developer reference, I see that there is a drawintitlebar attribute for the <window> element. However, setting this to 'true' doesn't change anything that I can see.

The answer is essentially the same as in this question - there is no easy way. You cannot just put something into the title bar, you have to replace the OS-provided title bar by your own. So you use chromemargin="0,-1,-1,-1" attribute to remove the usual title bar and you put <xul:titlebar> as the first element of your window. It should contain the usual minimize/maximize/close buttons (these will look correctly if you use the right -moz-appearance styles). Then you will be able to put a menu into the <xul:titlebar> element. But you will need lots of code and styles to ensure that your windows look like native windows on all operating systems.
