So I was planning on releasing an paid app on Google Play Store as a private person and was therefore about to setup a Google Play Merchant Account.
The deal with the adress put an end to it though. Will my full name and home adress be visible to the buyers of the app in the reciept or in any other way?
I am fine with "company" e-mail adress and name but my personal information?
I never recieved Scarlett Johanssons home adress and phone number on the receipt when buying the Don Jon blu-ray, not even Joseph Gordon-Levitt's..
Is it me who misunderstood what is being shared when selling an app on Google Play Store?
Thanks in advance

I have a Google Adsense account, I'm using it to show ads on my websites, also I'm using Admob to show ads on my applications. Everything is working fine as I have successfully verified my ID and Address with PIN and receiving money. And now I want to publish my applications on Google Play Store so I visited website to buy console account, it's written that google may ask to verify my identity and if failed money won't be refunded. My question is that after buying it, will google ask me to verify my identity with my photograph and government ID ?
They usually do not try to verify you, but usually it happened when you want to get payment for IAP (in app purchases) inside your apps.
Then they will ask for government ID (I recommend using passport), and will ask you to add a bank account to receive your money, it will take couple of days then they will verify you.
Do not worry it is normal process, the nonrefundable part is the 24$ you pay to open Google Play Developer account.
They may ask you to verify your phone number (it depends on your country, this is not done in all countries)
I am developing a cross-platform app that will eventually be on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play store. My app is free.
I understand that a user does not have to a credit card (or any payment method) to have an Apple ID and use the App Store and download apps).
I was helping an Android user install our app from the Google Play Store (in beta not in production yet) and it said the user needed a payment method. This particular user does NOT want to associate his credit cards or a debit card with is account. I think we will have more people with this concern.
Research indicates that Goole Play does NOT require a credit card or any payment. If so, then why did it ask this user for a payment method?
The Google Play Store does not require users to have a payment method. In any dialog prompting for this, there is a "Skip" option.
As a Google Play Store publisher, do I get charged to purchase my own app assuming I am using the same Google ID as the administrator of the Google Play Store entry?
After chatting with tech support # Google. It appears it is not possible and developers/test must either side-load or pay for the app in order to test it from the Play Store.
Google has no support for "app promo codes" like Apple App Store and up until now does not have the support for making an app free temporarily.
I don't have a URL to sell apps on the google Play Store, but it won't let me submit. What do I do?
This could be done by adding Google Play website url to your account :D

Even if you do not have a website of your own, you can definitely sign up as a Google Play merchant. Since the Play Store will be the website that will host your apps you can use https://play.google.com/store as your Business website on the registration page.
You can simply add your facebook account URL or your developer page on Google play.

This is very embarrassing: a few months ago I registered my a credit card to my Google account to enable Google translate in an application I am developing. Since then, Google has been happily billing my card, but I have never received an email invoice and when I now log in with the account I think I used, I see the Translate API disabled in the API Console and I can't find any billing tab.
I've searched my emails and electronic receipts but can't find any confirmations connecting a particular Google account (I have about 10 for different clients and projects). Is there any way of working back from the key and find the corresponding Google account? Any other suggestions? It's kind of bad form to not sending some email to confirm a credit card charge of ~$100 a month...
I ended up tracking down the account. It was a gmail account and all the receipts had been emailed to that account too obviously.
