In Sublime Text 3, I'm trying to insert a snippet inside of a snippet, aka
ul[TAB]
which produces

|

with the cursor nested between the elements.
Now, what I'd want to do is be able to expand another snippet inside of this snippet, aka
ul[TAB]li[TAB]
rendering

|

once again with the cursor nested between the elements, unfortunately as part of snippets in sublime text 3, [TAB] brings you to the next anchor point, in this case, exiting the tag. I find this feature incredibly handy, but in this case, a PITA. The above listed keystrokes would render:

li
|
with the cursor after the closing tag.
Is there a way to exit out of the snippet, so that I can then enter a new snippet?
You can specify the position of the cursor using $0, example:
<snippet>

$0

<tabTrigger>ul</tabTrigger>
<scope>text.html</scope>
</snippet>
I recommend taking a look at the excellent Emmet plugin, as it makes scaffolding of nested HTML tags pretty easy.

The method of writing a code element in Asciidoc is by writing an element enclosed in the grave accent(`):
`var`
And, the method to show a link is:
link:www.awebistelink.com[var]
I am attaching an image to show these two on a website that renders Asciidoc
Image Displaying the output in an asciidoc document
When I am trying to show a link highlight of a code element inside an inline code by writing:
`link:www.awebistelink.com[var]`
It renders perfectly fine on Asciidoc Please see it here
But on the website, it doesn't show any link, and simply shows a code element like as if we declared it simply as
`var`
The correct way to make a link label appear in monospace is to apply the backticks to the label itself, not the link.
Using your example, the markup should be:
link:www.awebsitelink.com[`var`]
I found the answer,
it should be
`link:www.awebistelink.com[var]`
I still don't know how it worked but now it works just fine as intended.
I'm putting together some TiddlyWiki templates, and I've run into something that would be nice to have, but I'm not sure whether it's actually possible.
I have some tiddlers that I'm including in another tiddler using the tabs macro. Each tiddler has one of two tags associated with it. I'd like to append a snippet of text to the caption in the tab view, based on which tag is associated.
I don't have a strong preference for whether this is done by adding some kind of callback to edit the caption on save, something that somehow calculates the desired caption on the fly, altering the invocation of the tabs macro to recalculate the caption on render, or somehow causing the templates to calculate the caption field.
I haven't found anything promising going through the documentation, but maybe I just haven't figured out what's relevant to my issue. I find that happens a lot.
Like, I'm sure I can write conditionals based on whether the tags exist, but I can't see any way to interpolate text into the caption field based on any kind of computation whatsoever.
For reference, here are my current macro invocations:
<<tabs [list[]] state:$:/state/tabPeriod template:PeriodTemplate>>
<<tabs [list[$(currentTab)$]] state:$:/state/tabEvent class:"tc-vertical" template:"EventTemplate">>
<<tabs [list[$(currentTab)$]] state:$:/state/tabScene template:"SceneTemplate">>
All of these lines are from different templates, that just pull a list of tiddlers and template-transclude them into tabs using the provided template. Currently, the tabs are captioned with the tiddler caption, if defined, and fall back to the title. I'd like to alter the caption, ideally without inserting too much boilerplate into the tiddlers.
I figured out what I need to do differently: I defined a custom macro based on the tabs macro, added the logic, and now it works fine. I basically just changed the current contents of the caption logic to:
<$set name="tv-wikilinks" value="no">
<$transclude tiddler=<<currentTab>> field="caption">
<$macrocall $name="currentTab" $type="text/plain" $output="text/plain"/>
</$transclude>
<$list filter='[<currentTab>tag[light]]'>
○
</$list>
<$list filter='[<currentTab>tag[dark]]'>
●
</$list>
</$set>
I'm not sure if I'm using the list widget correctly, but it works.
I have a CKEditor widget resembling a tab-module.
As editables I have defined a span.title and div.content.
When I am in editing mode inside a span.title and then paste something using CTRL+V, the span gets broken and I have two spans. As if it gets divided on whatever position I paste.
When I am in editing mode inside a div.content and then paste something using CTRL+V, the contents of the clipboard are correctly inserted into that div.
Is it because span is an inline-element and div is a block-element and CKEditor doesnt allow pasting into inline-elements?
Can I somehow change this behaviour?
CKEditor allows pasting of block and inline elements (keep in mind that content filtering (ACF) can be used which also affects pasting) so it is probably not the issue in this case.
I would also make sure that the content which you are trying to paste does not contain any HTML which may cause the behavior you described.
If you could provide widget HTML/template or code which you are using I will be glad to investigate this issue in more depth.
I had this issue when trying to have a element as an editable. Trick was to tweak the CKEDITOR.dtd properties.
// This prevents the pasting from splitting parent element.
delete CKEDITOR.dtd.$removeEmpty.cite;
// This tells the editor to allow editing in this element.
CKEDITOR.dtd.$editable.cite = 1;
I imagine this would affect the behavior of all elements in any editor currently loaded. Not ideal in all cases for most elements, but for our requirements for a blockquote/pullquote widget, the element is only allowed inside our
elements in any editor.
CKeditor apparently automatically creates matching end tags when you enter a start tag. Is there a way to turn this behavior off?
I have a situation where I am creating two blocks of text in an admin program using CKeditor, then I'm using these to paint a page with the first block, some static content, and then the second block. Now I've got a case where I want to wrap the static content in a table. I was thinking, No problem, I'll just put the
tag in the first block and the
tag in the second block, and the static content will be inside the table. But no, CKeditor insists on closing the table tag in the first block.
In general, I can go to source mode and enter HTML directly, but CKeditor then decides to reformat my tagging. This seems to rather defeat the purpose of having a source mode. (I hate it when I tell the computer what I want and it tells me, No, you're wrong, I know better than you what you want!)
CKEditor produces valid HTML. Valid HTML has to include both - start and end tags. There's no way to change this behaviour without hacking editor. Note that even if you'll force editor to produce content without one of these tags it will then try to fix this and won't do this as you expect. E.g. load:

foo

And you'll completely loose this table so only regexp based fix on data loading could help. In the opposite case:

foo

You'll end up with paragraph wrapped with table, so it's better. But what if someone would remove this table from editor contents?
Therefore you should do this integration outside editor - prepend table to contents of one editor and append to contents of second one. You simply cannot force editor to work on partial HTML.
I tend to use lines of hashes and dashes for formatting and breaking up code files (e.g., CSS files):
/* -------------------------------------------------------------------
* Layout Styles
* -----------------------------------------------------------------*/
In vim I would use the command 80a-<ESC> which would insert 80 - characters from the location after the cursor.
I've poked around in the Sublime documentation, but haven't come across a good way of replicating the above vim command in subl. Vintage mode does not include support for this command sequence.
Is there a corresponding command that does something similar in Sublime or would a static snippet be the simplest solution?
I don't think there is any repeat character possibility. To do this with any character I think would require a plugin, but the basic functionality of inserting a big comment block can easily be achieved with a snippet:
Go to New Snippet through the menus and add this code:
<snippet>

/* -------------------------------------------------------------------
* $0
* -----------------------------------------------------------------*/

<tabTrigger>comment</tabTrigger>
</snippet>
then save the snippet in your Packages\User folder, as something.sublime-snippet. Should work straight away, you just have to type comment (or whatever you change it to..) then hit tab, then actually write your comment title.
