I have a form and it reads another js file which has ajax. and then the formauthentication file in php.
now the response
is
"hasError":true,"errors":{"lastname":"lastname</b> is required.","firstname":"firstname</b> is required.","email":"e-mail</b> is required
notice the hasError is true.
now i am reading this through google chrome. how do i read this value on the webpage itself.
i want to use if hasError is true then do something. but i cannot and don't want to touch the ajax js file but in this page itself.
ajax code in a js file code
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
headers: { "cache-control": "no-cache" },
url: callingFile + '?rand=' + new Date().getTime(),
async: false,
cache: false,
dataType : "json",
data: 'ajax=true&'+params+'&token=' + static_token ,
success: function(jsonData)
{
if (jsonData.hasError)
{
var tmp = '';
var i = 0;
for(var error in jsonData.errors)
//IE6 bug fix
if(error !== 'indexOf')
{
i = i+1;
tmp += '<li>'+jsonData.errors[error]+'</li>';
}
tmp += '</ol>';
var errors = '<b>'+txtThereis+' '+i+' '+txtErrors+':</b><ol>'+tmp;
$('#opc_account_errors').slideUp('fast', function(){
$(this).html(errors).slideDown('slow', function(){
$.scrollTo('#opc_account_errors', 800);
});
});
}
this is the ajax and this goes to an authentication.php file and returns a response
and works accurately as you have seen
hasError is true

I have a form with some fields and file upload, rendering as a partial view using ajax in asp.net MVC. when submitting the form, I want to pass all the data to the controller. But if I use $("form").serialize(), it is not passing the selected file to the controller. So I am using formData() to pass the data to the controller. Till this point, everything works fine.
But after adding captcha using CaptchaMvc, it not reaching the controller. Even if I enter valid captcha, it is invalid in the controller.
This is how I send data to the controller using the ajax and formData
var data = new FormData();
var vidFile = null;
if ($("#FileUpload")[0].files.length > 0)
vidFile = $("#FileUpload")[0].files[0];
data.append("detail", $("#detail").val());
data.append("name", $("#name").val());
data.append("FileUpload", vidFile);
$.ajax({
url: "/home/submitData",
type: "POST",
contentType: false,
processData:false,
data: data,
success: function (response) {
if (response.success == true) {
} else {
}
}
});
Is there any way to pass the captcha as well to the controller?
Why can't you validate using different controller function, as follows:
At the time of submission, validate the captcha first, and depending on the result, call another controller function to submit data or show the error.
var submitData = function(){
var data = new FormData();
var vidFile = null;
if ($("#FileUpload")[0].files.length > 0)
vidFile = $("#FileUpload")[0].files[0];
data.append("detail", $("#detail").val());
data.append("name", $("#name").val());
data.append("FileUpload", vidFile);
$.ajax({
url: "/home/submitData",
type: "POST",
contentType: false,
processData:false,
data: data,
success: function (response) {
if (response.success == true) {
//Success
} else {
//Submission failed
}
}
});
}
var validateCaptcha = function(){
$.ajax({
url: "/home/validateCaptcha",
type: "POST",
data: $("form").serialize(),
success: function (response) {
if (response.success == true) {
submitData();
} else {
alert("Invalid Captcha entry");
}
}
});
}
$("form").submit(function(e){
validateCaptcha();
});
Still stack in these code. On any browser desktop working fine, but when try use chrome on my android, can't post value from ajax datastring.
jQuery(document).ready(function()
{
jQuery(".button").click(function()
{
var product = jQuery(".products").val().split('|')[0];
var nomortujuan = jQuery(".nomortujuan").val();
var pn = parseFloat(document.getElementById("val[pin]").value);
var dataString = 'method=sendMessage&message='+product+'.'+ nomortujuan+'.'+pn;
var web = 'ajax.php';
jQuery.ajax ({
type: "POST",
url: web,
data: dataString,
cache: true,
beforeSend: function(html) {
document.getElementById("hasil").innerHTML = '';
jQuery(".flash").show();
jQuery(".flash").html('<div style="float:left;"></div>');
},
success: function(html){
jQuery("#js_process_request input, #js_process_request select").attr('disabled',false);
jQuery(".flash").hide();
jQuery("#hasil").hide();
jQuery ("#hasil").append(html);
return false;
}
});
});
});
Maybe this problem
jQuery ("#hasil").append(html);
remove spacing to fix it
jQuery("#hasil").append(html);
I am getting this following error. i am trying to upload the file to the server.can somebody please suggest something

url: uploadURL,

$("#status1").append("File upload Done<br>");
}
});
status.setAbort(jqXHR);
}
contentType: 'multipart/form-data',
processData: false,
type: 'POST'
make sure you check your contentType
I have the following (working) code for loading and parsing text files:
$(document).ready(function(){
var parse_file = function(url) {
var ret = null;
$.ajax({
async: false,
url: url,
dataType: "text",
success: function(data) {
// parse 'data' and set 'ret'
}
});
return ret;
};
var file_url = "./file.txt";
var ret = parse_file(file_url);
// ...
});
However, if I put it into a cakephp's view file, it doesn't work anymore.
data contains a html-file with a cakephp error, that there is an undefined index.
I'm trying to make a simple AJAX call to the Justin TV API, which seems to be failing consistently.
When making the AJAX call with url1, the console reports Object { readyState=4, status=200, statusText="success"}, yet it falls into the error function of the AJAX call. When visiting the URL with my browser, I notice the returned data is [{ ... json ...}].
When making the AJAX call with 'url', the call passes, entering the success function. I notice the returned object is { ...json... }.
How do I get a valid JSON object out of the AJAX request for url1?
Here's a snip of what I'm doing:
var url1 = "http://api.justin.tv/api/stream/list.json"
var url = "https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams/";
channelNames = "";
for (channelName in streams)
{
channelNames = channelNames + ',' + channelName;
}
channelNames = channelNames.slice(1);
console.log(channelNames);
console.log(url1);
$.ajax({
url: url1,
type: 'GET',
crossDomain: true,
dataType: 'jsonp',
data: { channel : channelNames },
success: function(data)
{
console.log(data);
if(data.streams.length > 0)
{
$("#streamStatus").html("<ul class='zebra'>");
for(i = 0; i < data.streams.length; i++)
{
stream = data.streams[i];
channel = data.streams[i].channel;
listItem = "<li id='stream"+i+"'>";
streamName = "<span class='name'>" + streams[stream.name.slice(10)] + "</span>";
viewers = "<span class='viewers'>viewers:" + stream.viewers + "</span>";
gameName = "<div class='game'>" + ((channel.game != null) ? channel.game : "No Game Specified") + "</div>";
listItem += streamName + viewers + gameName + "</li>";
screenCap = "<div class='screenCap' style='display:none;'>" + channel.screen_cap_url_small + "</div>"
$("#streamStatus ul.zebra").append(listItem);
$("#streamStatus ul.zebra").append(screenCap);
//console.log(channel);
}
$("#streamStatus").append("</ul>");
}
},
error: function(data)
{
console.log(data);
}
EDIT: Here is the working solution...
var url1 = "http://api.justin.tv/api/stream/list.json"
var url = "https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams/";
channelNames = "";
for (channelName in streams)
{
channelNames = channelNames + ',' + channelName;
}
channelNames = channelNames.slice(1);
console.log(channelNames);
console.log(url1);
$.ajax({
url: url1,
type: 'GET',
crossDomain: true,
dataType: 'jsonp',
jsonp: 'jsonp',
data: { channel : channelNames },
success: function(data)
{
...
},
error: function(data)
{
console.log(data);
}
You're passing jsonp as the dataType in the ajax call. They're not interchangeable.
As you've noted yourself, the data returned from url1 is JSON, not JSONP: JSONP requires wrapping the returned JSON data in a javascript function call.
A mismatch like this between dataType and the data in the response body will always cause the ajax call to fail.
