I am new to iOS 7 coding and trying to create a custom web browser similar to Safari but with a few extra buttons.
I started off trying to add a UIToolbar to the TOP of the view only to discover this is (a) meant for the bottom and (b) does not allow for text fields. I then explored the search and nav bar objects with no luck.
Can someone explain to me what objects are used to create a toolbar on the TOP of a view, such as in Safari? Are objects, such as the next, back and search bar just put on the view and positioned or are they in some kind of container that I am not understanding.
Thanks for the help.

Problem
Using react native web, I am trying to allow for drag to work over a touchable opacity. This will allow mobile users to scroll by dragging over the touchable opacity.
Attempts
Since there are two touchable opacities within a single view, I have been trying to fix it for the view (parent) so that it works for the whole section. So, within the view tag, I have tried handles like: onResponderRelease, onResponderStart, onStartShouldSetResponder, onStartShouldSetResponderCapture, and a few others in an attempt to find something that works, as it seems those handles would fix issues for react native. I have assigned them to false and true, however none of those fixed my issue.
Question
How can I allow components to maintain their ability to be clicked, while also allowing users to click and drag (scroll on mobile)? Thanks for any help!
I am trying to get a Circular Icon of my Application Logo right in middle of tabbed bar menu's, I have 5 Tab Menu's where the third one i want it to look like this
trying to get this on Android & Ios
i have tried custom rendering by removing the padding but still not able to get the desired result, i found one solution updating icon using SetTabIcons Method but this method does not get trigger when we are working with bottom tabbed bar in Android, please suggest me something which can help me to get this for both android & Ios
I understand your problem here, i am not sure how to get that big button overflowing the tabbar but however have a look at this
https://devlinduldulao.pro/how-to-create-bottom-navigation-bar-in-xamarin-forms/
That's an open source project and the source code is linked at the bottom of page, you can tweak the animation (which i like very much) and use a customrenderer to render the center icon over a circle.
Have a look if that helps you in any way! :)
I'm currently working on my first iOS application to run on the iPad, and I've come across a problem. I have been asked to implement menu's similar to the ones in the default applications such as when you click on the "Calendars" button in the top left of the calendars app.
Only issue is, I cant seem to find a standard UI object that looks like these, with the arrow connecting the menu to the button etc. Is this a standard UI component that I should be able to use, or will I have to imitate them by creating a custom object?
Thanks for any help.
That is a UIPopoverController. There isn't an Interface Builder control for this. You need to create one programmatically:
UIPopoverController *popover = [[UIPopoverController alloc]initWithContentViewController:someTableViewController];
See the documentation for more information and sample projects, specifically ToolbarSearch:
Following up on this question: Kiosk Applications - OS X programming - Multiple monitors
I'm an iPhone programmer just starting out with OS X programming, and I'd like to know how I can present multiple views sequentially.
What I basically need to do is - Have a welcome screen with a button called "Click here to continue". Once the user clicks that button, it needs to completely replace the view with another view presenting a table view of options that the user can choose from.
I actually need to create a couple more screens, but any help on how to get this basic setup can help me get started. The problem I'm having is almost all the mac application source code available on Apple's website seems to be oriented towards single window applications popping up multiple windows for any additional tasks.
Thanks,
Teja
I enjoyed using M3NavigationView from Martin Pilkington http://www.mcubedsw.com/dev
Basically it pushes and pops NSViewControllers on a stack and allows you to animate between them. I am doing this for a quick setup wizard on an app I am working on.
Make a tabless tab view, and put each of your views into one of the tab view items. In Interface Builder, each tab view item will have a view automatically, so you just need to put all of the subviews for that tab into that view.
You can then switch tabs from code—e.g., in response to the “Next” button.
This feels like a dumb newbie question. I'm attempting to follow the Palm's online tutorial for developing a webOS app. I ran palm-generate and tried updating the generated index.html file to have a body with a bunch of content (the word "HELLO" repeated 400 times).
When I attempt to load that document in the emulator, I find that I'm unable to scroll the screen to read the rest of the text. I drag the screen, but nothing happens. The page scrolls just fine in the Palm web browser.
Is there a setting to allow users to drag my app to scroll it? I see documentation for a Mojo.Widget.Scroller, but that seems like it shouldn't be necessary for a simple web page with a bunch of text on it.

You can take anything that would normally be inside the tags and put that inside the scene HTML file.
OR you could just make a basic scene with a webview widget inside it that has your site as the source.
Unfortunately, the Scroller widget is needed for scrolling. The standard WebKit view that's shown in a card has no native scrolling ability, so the Mojo scroller widget implements the logic for displaying more content that can fit.
You can try this out by making a new project in the Ares IDE. Just add a Scroller and use the Maximize button to make it fill the scene. Then, add a HTML object to it, and add your HTML content to that object. You'll then have a nice scene which allows you to scroll through a lot of content.
