jmeter null pointer exception after a few successful samples - jmeter

I have a jmeter test plan that logs into a site simulates some ajax requests, simulates hiting a couple of random pages and then loops.
The problem is that after a few succesful samples I start getting null property can't be cast exceptions:

It looks very similar to the following issue that was apparently solved in 2.11

i had similar problem when i was useing:

After several time works then returned errors ( also on clients machines)
then i changed to:

Now , test are working witnh no erors

How to represent or monitor java.io.InterruptedIOException timeout?

We are getting the Caused by: java.io.InterruptedIOException: timeout exception in the logs from the server. However, the server is not giving the response code to us.
I am looking for the standard practice for the timeout monitoring to be followed in Splunk or Appdynamics to plot the graph for number of timeouts being received per second.
Shall we add the error code like 408 in the exception at client side or we should plot the graph for on basis of text "timeout" count with over the time.

ElasticSearch randomly fails when running tests

I have a test ElasticSearch box (2.3.0) and my tests that are using ES are failing in random order which is really frustrating (failed with All shards failed exception).
Looking at the elastic_search.log file it only showed me this

Any idea what's going on? So far my research only told me this is most likely due to corrupt translog -- but I don't think deleting translog will help because the test drops the test index for every namespace
ES test box has 3.5GB RAM and it's using 2.5GB heap size, CPU usage is quite normal during the test (peaked at 15%)
To clarify: when I said failing test, I meant error with the weird exception as mentioned above (not failing test due to incorrect value). I did manual refresh after every insert/update operation so value is correct.
After investigating ElasticSearch log file (at DEBUG level) and the source code, turns out what actually happened was that after index is created, the shards are entering RECOVERING state and sometimes my test tried to perform a query on ElasticSearch while the shards are not yet active -- thus the exception.
Fix is simple - after creating an index, just wait until shards are active using setWaitForActiveShards function and to be more paranoid I also added setWaitForYellowStatus
It's a recommendation use ESIntegTestCase to do the integration test.
ESIntegTestCase has some helper method, like: ensureGreen and refresh ... to ensure the Elasticsearch is ready to continue testing. and you can configure node settings for test.
if use Elasticsearch directly as a test box, it maybe cause various problems:
like your Exception, this seems it's recovering shards for index
derp_test.
even you have indexed your data into index, but when you immediately search will fail, since cluster need flush or refresh
...
Those most problems can just use Thread.sleep to wait some time to fix :), but it's a bad way to do this.
Try manually refreshing your indices after inserting the data and before performing a query to ensure the data is searchable.

There could be another reason. I had the same problem with my elasticsearch unit tests, at first I thought the problem root cause is somewhere in .Net Core or Nest or elsewhere outside of my code because the test would run successfully in Debug mode (When debugging tests) but randomly failed in Release mode (when running tests).
After lots of investigations and many try and errors, I found out the problem root cause (in my case) was Concurrency !! or on the other hand Race Condition used to happen
Since the tests run concurrently and I used to recreate and seed my index (initializing and preparing) on test class constructor which means executing on the beginning of every test and since the tests would run concurrently, race condition were likely to happen and make my tests fail
Here is my initialization code that caused tests fail randomly when running them (on release mode)

the code above used to run on every test concurrently. I fixed my problem by executing initialization code only once per test class (once for all the test cases inside the test class) and the problem went away.

then you have 2 options. The first (and much easier if it applies
to you) is to use the LengthPrefixedBinaryTCPClientImpl. If this
applies to you, that is, if your responses are always the same fixed
sizes, you can simply set the tcp.binarylength.prefix.length property
and go about your business.
If that is not the case, then your other option is to extend
org.apache.jmeter.protocol.tcp.sampler.TCPClient. It may help to get in
touch with the client team of this proprietary protocol, because after
all, they have implemented something that works. You'll probably have
to extend it to look something like LengthPrefixedBinaryTCPClientImpl
read N bytes. Although, this runs the risks of reading too many or too
few bytes. If your application server ever miscalculates the size of
it's output, you suffer the consequences by getting another timeout or
leaving extra bytes in the buffer and reading them on the next iteration
(and then cascading errors).

com.ibm.websphere.jtaextensions.NotSupportedException thrown under load

I have an application containing 4 MDB's each of which receives SOAP messages over JMS from MQ. Once the messages have been received we process the XML into an object model and process accordingly which always involves either loading or saving messages to an Oracle database via Hibernate.
Additionally we have a quartz process with fires every minute that may or may not trigger so actions which could also read or write to the database using Hibernate.
When the system in under high load, i.e. processing large numbers 1k + and potentially performing some database read/writes triggered by our quartz process we keep seeing the following exception be thrown in our logs.

Could any body help to shed come light on what com.ibm.websphere.jtaextensions.NotSupportedException means. The IBM documentation says
"The exception is thrown by the transaction manager if an attempt is made to register a SynchronizationCallback in an environment or at a time when this function is not available. "
Which to me sounds like the container is rejecting hibernates call to start a transaction. If anybody has any idea on why the container could be throwing the message please let me know.

If you really need high load I would remove the Hibernate layer between your app and the database. Without Hibernate you have less moving parts and more control.
That is the only advice I can give you.
If anyone was interested it was a thread that was trying to sync the transaction when the transaction had timed out.
I had assumed that if the transaction timeout then the thread would have been killed however this was not the case.
