I am using xcode 6
answer:
I immigrate to xcode 5 and it works fine
Xcode 6 is in beta. If you can determine a reproducible test case, please file a bug report, and attach the files that make it hang or crash.

Xcode 9 builds on any code change or any keystroke. I'm using Version 9.1 (9B55)
This sometimes happens if you are using storyboards with #IBDesignables. To fix the issue, select a storyboard and uncheck Editor > Automatically Refresh Views.
This happens because IBDesignable's re-compile your code so that they can properly render their views in the storyboard.
I am trying to create a Table View Controller in my storyboard and when I change from "Dynamic Prototypes" to "Static Cells" Xcode stops responding until it eventually crashes.
What I tried so far:
Re-installing Xcode;
Clear Xcode folders under ~/Library (including DerivedData);
Creating in a new project (still crashes);
Ask a colleague to create a Table View Controller with static cells in the same project. He can do it on his computer. I can see the Table View on my computer and even edit rows, but I cannot add sections.
Tried both Swift/Obj-C projects, with or without Core Data;
I am using XCode 6.1.1 (6A2008a), the same as my colleague.
Please help! Thanks!
Yes , I have faced similar problem .please try with Xcode 6.3.x or later version .
Not a fix but may help some. I noticed this was only happening to me when I had two windows of my current project open. Was reworking a storyboard, so I had the old and new side by side. When I closed the windows of my project that I was not currently editing, Xcode did not crash. With more than one window open, editing a Static Table View would crash Xcode EVERY time.
I found a temp Fix. I also noticed that my dock isn't working fine (I can drag and drop things into it or in it). So I rebooted the mac and this fixed the dock problem, I tried quickly in Xcode and it worked. I guess it's something with Mac OS not just Xcode
I need to add a storyboard to my app for the iPhone5 - as the autoLayout doesn't work for this project.
I created a storyboard from scratch and abandoned it (and deleted the file) when I realised I should have just copied and renamed the existing mainstoryboard file.
The problem is, that when I run the simulator as an iPhone 5, I still get the old deleted views. i have tried cleaning the project etc as suggested here in other posts. I have also checked to see if the old storyboard was saved anywhere silly - and it is not there.
Any idea what is happening?
I have a big problem: Whenever I'm in storyboard and Ctrl-Drag from a button into its .h file, give a random name and click enter to create an action, Xcode crashes - always.
I already restarted Mac OS, reinstalled Xcode, made a new storyboard from scratch, but it all doesn't help, the error doesn't change the tiniest bit.
Has anyone any idea what is wrong with my setup?
Edit:
I solved it. The problem was: The header view for the ViewController, which contained the button, was toggled to an iOS library header (.h) file. So Xcode tried to write into a write-protected library .h file and therefore crashed.
I Ctrl-Dragged the Button into a correct in-the-project header file and it worked flawlessly.
Since I'm totally new to Xcode I didn't recognize that the file wasn't autogenerated from Xcode but prewritten and an iOS library file.
With Xcode 3 in Interface Builder you were able to upscale an iPhone XIB file to an iPad version. However in XCode 4 I cannot find a way to do this. I would really prefer not to have to create the XIB again from scratch. Is there a way to do this like there was in Xcode 3?
This has been asked a few times, and unfortunately it seems (or rather, it's sure) that the option (Create iPad Version Using Autosizing Masks) has been removed from Xcode 4.
You will need to copy/paste the UI elements, and re-link them to your code.
OR: You are now allowed to install both Xcode 3 & 4 (simply choose a different folder to install it to). Since the nib files' format did not change, you can upgrade them in Xcode 3, and copy the converted files back into Xcode 4.
