Yammer API - missing messages - yammer

We have developed an application to extract data from Yammer using the Yammer APIs. We're authenticating using the verified admin's credentials. According to the data export CSV file we know that there are some 25K messages in the network, but we only get 10K messages via the API. Initially thought that the difference was private messages, but the missing messages are a mix of private and public messages.
The API call we are using is: https://www.yammer.com/api/v1/messages.json . We are using the 'older_than' parameter to scan through all the messages.
In the end we had to query the missing messages individually but that is not a very efficient process.
Any ideas about what we could be doing wrong, or why the APIs are missing to many messages?

I'm experiencing the same issue. Even by respecting the API Rate limits there are some messages that are not retrieved. By using /api/v1/messages/about_topic/ I can get them all.
The issue is not linked to the age of messages. Most of the missing ones a quite new.

You can't download all messages via the API call you're using.

If you attempt to iterate over messages you will hit some limits. These limits are technical in nature and you would need to revert to the search API to find much older messages. Unfortunately you will have to put up with these limitations if you are dealing with the free version of Yammer as the data export is only available with the paid version.

Getting messages per subaccount using the Mailchimp API

I was looking at the Mailchimp API documentation because I want do an implementation where I list all the messages per subaccount. This doesn't seem possible. You get all the messages from every subaccount. Same if you use a webhook. The subaccount API options seem very limited.
I'm using the Mailchimp Transactional PHP lib. I tried using the messages->search() method where I set senders param but that doesn't really capture everything linked to the subaccount. It would be great if you could add a subaccount param to the messages->search() method. You can filter afterwards by looping through every result and checking the subaccount but that seems like a crappy workaround.
Anyone have another workaround? I see there is no way to report bugs or feature request on their Github? Or know how to contact the developers?

How to find messages in google spaces using chat.api

I want to be able to pull all text messages from a google chat space.
I'm looking at the spaces.messages.getbut it assumes you have the ID of a message. In similar programs (MS Teams), you can call an endpoint to list all message ID and then call the message API to extract the contents of an ID. However, google chat has no such API.
Has anyone come across a way to do this?
This is currently not possible
There is already a respective feature request on Google Issue's Tracker.
I recomment you to star it to increase visibility and hope that it will be implemented soon.

Extending YouTube API Quota with limited funds

With a simple java program, I send GET requests using YouTube Data API specifically videos.list, in order to get the public metadata of a video and store it as .json files.
For my universities research, we have to do this with all available YouTube video IDs provided in the Youtube-8M Database.
Therefore, I would like to know if there is a way to extend the available quota for requests (I already know about the billing option, but I am a student and my university is small).
I have read the YouTube API terms, which states that only one project per client may be used to send such requests with the necessary API Key.
If I understand it correctly, even my simple java code is such a client.
In some other Stack Overflow questions about extending ones daily quota with API Keys, some suggested creating multiple accounts or projects.
Is this a legal option or not? Or is there another possibility to get a higher quota for simple requests used in research like I do right now?
If you go to the Google Developer console where you enabled the YouTube API. the second tab is called quota
Click the pencil next to which ever quota it is that you are blowing out. A new window will pop up with a link called apply for higher quota.
Fill out the form to apply. To my knowledge you do not have to pay for additional YouTube quota but it can take time to get approved. Make sure you comply with everything on the form.
I have never heard of the one project per client term. Technically you can run your application using different API Keys it should work fine. Technically there is nothing wrong with creating additional projects on Google Developer console. You don't need to go as far as creating another Google account.

Yammer does not return every message in group

Using the following endpoint with the group id and the older_than paging parameter
https://www.yammer.com/api/v1/messages/in_group/[group_id].json?older_than=[msgid(19)]
This does not return every message in that group... it skips messages!
This is a paid network that I am testing, the API is pretty much useless if it does not provide all the messages. Can anyone confirm this limitation!
Using the 'older_than' parameter to try to get all messages isn't going to work:

Assuming you're trying to do some sort of analytics, have a look at the Yammer Data Export API.
There is a similar question : Yammer API - missing messages
The ansnwer is the same and his not acceptable !
When using /api/v1/messages/about_topic/ I get messages not returned by
/api/v1/messages.json
or
/api/v1/messages/in_group
My script respect the API Rate limits and the missing messages are not older than others.
There is something wrong in the API and it must be fixed.
My company is paying for Yammer and expect a reliable API.
If you want all messages inside a group, use below mentioned REST API without all parameters. Then it will list all messages present inside that particular group.

Sending request to Google not using Contacts API

I was checking the API reports for Contact, Calendar and Tasks. I was surprised to see that the number of requests for Contacts API is 0 for last 28 days. However we synced thousands of contacts with Google everyday. Please refer screenshot attached.
From the stats it seems that the requests we are making to Google is NOT using Contacts API.
Overview of our application's google integration:
Our application is built on Ruby on Rails.
We are using 'google-contacts' gem (https://github.com/varunlalan/google-contacts) for syncing contacts.
We authenticate user using 'omniauth-google-oauth2' gem (https://github.com/zquestz/omniauth-google-oauth2).
OAuth 2 scopes include - "userinfo.email, userinfo.profile, https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/"
Any reason why it is not making use of Contacts API or requests not being showed up in the reports?
Any help or inputs would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
just wanted to add that we're facing the same issue.
We've been using the Contacts API heavily (and we even got a 503 due to, it seems, exceeding the maximum requests/second) and yet the dashboard and the reports show 0% usage... which makes it a bit difficult to plan ahead!
After further investigation we have also seen that the per user quota is fixed at 10/user/second despite any changes to the config from the API console.
Also, the parameter quotaUser which is meant to enable developers to manage their quota more effectively is ignored.
