Glad to know that you chose Jmeter, which i love, for your load testing requirements.
Please refer to the tutorials below to get some basic idea.

I'm using VS2013/CodedUI and my palybacksetting is as follow:
Playback.PlaybackSettings.LoggerOverrideState = HtmlLoggerState.AllActionSnapshot;
I also have a 3rd party tool that I have integrated to my code that does some action that codedui can't...Iw an to be able to log those steps into the ActionLog.html file with where codedui capture the actions and screenshot.
I searched a lot but didn't find anything on how we can achieve this.
thanks in advance for any help
I posted a response over here: Writing Custom HTML Logs
It sounds like there's not a good way to do this. You can get the path to where the html file lives and write a custom logger from there. I'm not sure it'd be safe to try and write to it while your test is executing, but perhaps once your test is complete.
This is Naresh. Seems this blog is really helpful for the beginners and all.
I have chosen Jmeter for Perf. testing web-based application and it is build with the environment - Microsoft dot net(Asp.net 3.5 with C#). Would Jmeter helps me?
I have done some sample recordings, for e.g login and search.
Scenario1 - Login
Here I have recorded for login and then parameterized with CSV config file.
And executed later.
As I do not much hand on exp, do I need to add anything to the above config to run it perfectly. For e.g. adding HTTP cookie manager or ?????
How to run the concurrent users?
Scenario 2:
Here, I have logged in - login.aspx is recorded
given a search - search.aspx is recorded
results will be displayed right below the search in a tabular format - (same)search.aspx is recorded
I want to run this for 100 simultaneous search(s). I understood how to pass the CSV file.
I am sure there is some thing needed to be done for executing this scenario.
Do I have need to do Data correlation, if yes? how to do this?
Do I need to add HTTP cookie manager or HTTP cache manager......
Please help guys, would be grateful :)
Naresh
Yes you must add the HTTP Cookie manager and HTTP cache manager
I am writing an automated test script. So far, Selenium has helped me. Now,I have a test case where I should tamper the request and add a parameter and then submit the request. I did it manually by using tamperdata.
I want to automate this test case now. The problem is, selenium is not recording my actions of adding a parameter and then submitting the request. I understand selenium is a record-playback kind of tool. can some one confirm me if it cannot record tamper data or am doing wrong?
If it cannot, how do you people automate these kind of test cases.
Selenium really is not designed for such a type of work. If a regular user can't make a tampered request (without Firebug etc.), then Selenium usually can't, too. Anyway, you can have FireBug: How do I run Firebug within Selenium WebDriver (Selenium 2)?. Controlling it, that's where the problems come - and I don't think it's worth the research.
One way to do this could be HttpUrlConnection in Java, making and sending the request in Java ... see those SO questions: How to send HTTP request in java?, Using java.net.URLConnection to fire and handle HTTP requests
I wrote my own FaceBook library that uses actual Curl requests, not libcurl.
Is there a way to test it? I'm asking this because most solutions involve using something like fakeweb which as far as I can tell will not work here.
The existing code can be found on my github page.
One approach would be to use a different host/port in test mode (eg localhost:12345)
Then in your test run a sinatra or webrick servlet on that port that you configure to respond to the requests your code should be making
You could mock Request.dispatcher with an expected behavior, pretty much like Fakeweb would do.
There are a few examples on this file, specially https://github.com/chrisk/fakeweb/blob/master/lib/fake_web/ext/net_http.rb#L44.
When running your tests/specs, monkey-patch the run method of your Request class to hook into the Marston VCR library. See the existing library_hooks subdir for examples and ideas on how to do this -- the fakeweb implementation is a good place to start.
VCR works well with live services like Facebook's because it captures interactions "as is", and VCRs can be easily re-recorded when the services change.
I'm running into problems with your library, however. You need to require the cgi and json libraries; it also looks like it requires a Rails environment (it's failing to find with_indifferent_access on Hash).
I want to use selenium test to cover my rails project ! but i just find little documents on selenium test . I want someone to give me some documents for selenium test of all types !like website ,pdf ,text etc. you can sent them to my gmail liwh87#gmail.com ,or write under the question.
