I have a problem I installed visual studio 2013, and I can not create any kind of project.
Method not found: 'Void
Microsoft.VisualStudio.Diagnostics.Assert.VSDebug.Log_Tagged (System.String, System.String, System.String, UInt32) '.
This problem is due to the old version of DLL in the files.Make sure that you have the latest assemblies deployed in the system. You can resolve it by installing the correct .NET Framework version. Please have a look here

I'm using Visual Studio Community 2017 Version 15.7.1 on Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.16299 32-bit, Windows SDK Version 10.0.17134.12 and C++/WinRT Version 1.0.180505.2. When I try to create a new project using any of C++/WinRT templates, I'm getting this error message:
Error: this template attempted to load component assembly

Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. For more

Is there an easy fix to this problem?
This error was caused by missing UWP SDK. My first installation of Visual Studio was configured for Desktop development with C++ workfload only, so UWP development workload components were missing. I added UWP development workload using Visual Studio Installer.
This error comes due to absence of UWP tools. For Visual Studio 2019, you simply have to go to Extensions>Manage Extensions>Online and search for "UWP Essentials" then download it for free. Close all Visual Studio windows and then when you open it again, the problem should be solved.
The easiest way to fix this is to install the whole UWP Essentials package. It contains a lot, but it gives you everything to fix the issue. Go to Tools > Extensions and Updates > Online and search for "UWP Essentials", and use the Visual Studio Installer to get it.
I have installed Visual Studio for Mac. I tried to create project, but Visual studio project gives error as shown in the picture.
How can i resolve this error?
I guess that I had the same issue. You need to install stable version of .net core sdk: https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/master/release-notes/rc4-download.md
I have visual studio C++ 6.0 and visual studio C++ 2010 express installed in my PC. My friend is able to compile the same project in his PC with visual studio 2010 express. But my PC throws and error
LINK : fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF
I do not want to uninstall visual studio C++ 6.0. I have to keep that for other projects. I can uninstall/install Visual studio C++ 2010 express.
Please help me to solve this compatibility issue.
thank you.
UPDATE [SOLUTION] :
I solved issue by changing .NET framework.
I checked that my PC had .NET framework 4.5 installed so I uninstalled it and installed .NET framework 4. And now I can successfully compile my project in visual studio C++ 2010 express.
I do not even need to set "Enable Incremental Linking" to "No
(/INCREMENTAL:NO)" without that also it is working.
Thank you all.

I have VS 2010 Ultimate Edition with SP1 installed. Recently, I have noticed that I cannot refer Microsoft.Pex (v 0.94.0.0) library from my project. All my previous project are broken due to this. Every-time I try to add the reference to Pex, it says the library is incompatible with .NET 4 framework.
I even tried adding it by manually browsing to location "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Moles\PublicAssemblies\Microsoft.Pex.Framework.dll", I still get the same error.
I can't remember what caused it? Did installation of VS-SP1 broke it? I have even tried repairing the Pex installation. The problem still persist.
There is a similar post at Can't reference Microsoft.Moles.Framework.dll in Visual Studio 2010 SP1, but the post did not helped either.
Running WinXP SP3, Visual Studios 2005, .NET 2.0. Recently upgraded machine from Office 2007 to Office 2010 sp1.
I had a project that referenced Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word and when I reopened it the reference was not found. I've checked the Office install CD and ".NET Programmability Support" is selected as installed. If I go to C:\Windows\assembly I see Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word Version 14.0.0.0 installed on the list.
When I go to Add Reference .NET tab, the only Office references I see are Microsoft.Office.Tools.Common, Microsoft.Office.Tools.Excel, Microsoft.Office.Tools.Outlook, Microsoft.Office.Tools.Word.
I can go to the COM tab and add Microsoft Office 14.0 Object Library to get the reference to Microsoft.Office.Core. However I have been unable to find a way to reference the Interop assembly.
Doing a file search on my machine for Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll also finds no matches.
I've repaired the Office install and still no luck. I also tried to install the PIAs directly, same behavior.
Could this be an issue with trying to use Office 2010's interop assembly with VS2005? I saw online that the directory the dll is found in is usually under Program Files\Visual Studios 10.
Any thoughts on what step I'm missing?
You can install Office 2010 PIA separately. Installer can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3508
