I am trying to run a website from my computer using Spring Tool Suite (STS). Using pivotal tc Server I can access this website that I made by running the server and using localhost:8080 as a url.
My laptop contains other software that is permitted to only run in the laptop and it is needed to run my code in Spring tool suite.(School policy to SSH's into another computer to get access to my database; it is a requirement)
How would I be able to access that website that is running in my laptop that uses pivotal tc Server. Please assume I know nothing about IP address and DNS. Also, assume that I can move my laptop around like a mobile device.

I’m an absolute beginner when it comes to setting up a Jenkins environment but I have just installed Jenkins on a MAC v10.15.5 using home-brew and would like the capability to:
Open a web browser
Login to Jenkins from any machine on any network
Trigger a job.
I’m able to do this using a different machine on the same network but unable to do this using a machine on a different network. I changed the "httpListenAddress" value within the jenkins-lts.plist file to 0.0.0.0 to allow the web interface to be accessible from anywhere as mentioned at https://www.macminivault.com/installing-jenkins-on-macos/ but apart from that I’m not sure where to go from here.
I’ve heard about Apache Tomcat but not sure if it's necessary for what I need to do. If anyone can provide instructions / safe approaches about how to login to the Jenkins environment on my MAC from any network that would be appreciated.
To get jenkins web interface use $JENKINS_HOST_IP:8080 (by default jenkins uses port 8080) and then make first-run-configure.
Login to Jenkins from any machine on any network - it depends on network topology, what is used in your organisation. So, to reach jenkins host from any network where should be allowed traffic from/into network where jenkins host is placed.
Trigger a job - where are a lot of triggers you can use. Take a look at official documentation here
I have developed a Jooby-Application which is hosted on a netty server. I can access the application on localhost and tests were fine. Now I want to make the app accessable over internet and dont know what is the best way to reach this goal?
The complete application is hosted on a Windows Server, because it uses Excel. (Read/Write over Apache POI. For macros it has to be Windows) Should I try to connect the running netty-server with IIS or can I just forward the requests from outside to localhost? The last mentioned approach propably is a bad idea regarding security issues.
It works with reverse proxy over IIS. I had to install some features like Application Request Routing and URL Rewrite. Then I can start the jooby application (netty server) as usual on a specific port at localhost and set a reverse proxy to it.
I am not sure why being on a window is necessary, anyways, Netty is just a Java network programming framework, it can run on any platform where Java is installed.
You need to host a server, you can buy a VPS, install windows as OS, install Java, you can run your application as you like.
What I understand is you need to test it, for that you can use any port forwarding service like https://pagekite.net/support/intro/features/ to enable "world access" to localhost
I have the following setup in my DEV environment which is running on Windows 10 (which should be irrelevant).
Homestead with Virtual box to develop my Laravel applications
on my local OS I have a IBM Domino server running as dev1.mydomain.local
I'm trying to access the REST API on the Domino server from my Laravel installations. At the moment I'm getting 404 errors when trying because the domino server is not available from within the VirtualBox of Homestead.
Here is the network configuration of the homestead virtual box
Both webservers Domino and nginx on the virtual box are running on standard ports

How can I make that possible?
UPDATE:
It just came to me that I am able to access the Domino server with LDAP, so perhaps changing the http and https port of the Domino server is already the answer...
I will test that and then get back here...
Changing the Port of the Domino server to 8080 enable me to access the server's REST API
dev1.mydomain.local:8080/api/data/
The connection to the local machine seems to be enable through the VirtualBox's second network adapter and the my call to the REST API got confused with the 2 web servers listening to the same port on localhost(127.0.0.1)
Update
although I was kind of able to connect to the server using the address above, still left me with the problem that authentication wasn't possible. In order to do so (and I have not the slightest idea why), I had to change to the local IP address of my PC to access the REST services

I wanted to set up a simple go server in a webhost. I acquired a domain mydomain.com and hosted it using Bluehost. Now, going through the Go tutorial, I went through this example http://tour.golang.org/#59 and it works fine on my machine. Now, instead, I want to make the HelloWorldServer work when I call mydomain.com:4000 or some other port.
What I did was ssh to my server at bluehost, install go there, then compile the server and run. But then I try to access mydomain.com:4000 and it is not found. I also tried to change "localhost:4000" to just ":4000". any ideas how to make it work ?
Any help or pointers are appreciated. (some more details: it is a shared-hosting account)
This is due to the firewall on your BlueHost server not having ports (including 4000) open on a shared hosting account, Firewall Port Restrictions
If you want to do some simple (and not so simple) web hosting, why don't you look at Google App Engine
This is a bit complex - so here we go.
I am developing a mobile web application using asp.net mvc and I need to test it locally on my iPhone. So far I have the first iteritaion of the site running on my local dev laptop. I created a virtual dir for the site under IIS 7 on the same machine. I deployed the site to that folder from VS2008. I open a browser and entered "" and the site cam up just fine. I am runnig a home network with locked down WIFI and both the laptip and my iPhone are on the network. So now I want to test with the iPhone but the site won't come up when browsing to "". I have another machine that is also on the network and I get this error message when attempting to browse to the site:
"Website (laptopname) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts"
I have a feeling that this has something to do with IIS setting and \ or application pools but have not been able to find anything relavent goolging. Any help appreciated.
There are some possibilities:
iPhone is not able to resolve your laptop by name. Try using the IP address of your computer in the URL instead.
The firewall on the laptop is blocking inbound connections from other machines. Check your firewall.
The IIS Website is configured with a host header localhost so it won't respond to requests to other hostnames. Check the binding for the Web site in the IIS Manager.
To eliminate possible network issues, you can create an ad hoc WiFi network on your PC and connect to that network to test.
Check that Allow Anonymous Access is set for the site
I suspect you are not alone, as I had this exact problem. I developed a small port opener I called "SharpProxy" that may make your local testing much easier.
