Cloo not working in Windows 8.1 Pro - cloo

When I try to run Clootils in Windows 8.1 Pro, it crashes. Event Viewer has this error:

If I try to run it in Debug configuration in VS 2013, it dies the same way. I put a break on line 70 in MainForm.cs:
object[] availablePlatforms = new object[ComputePlatform.Platforms.Count];
and then it stops there; but if I try to Step Into or Step Over, it dies with the same error as above in Event Viewer.
I upgraded the projects to .NET 4.5 and rebuilt, but to no avail: same error.
I have "OpenCL 1.1 support for Intel Core processor family" installed. My laptop is an i7 CPU.
My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M.
Clootils worked fine on the same hardware when it was running Windows 7 Pro.

The installation of Intel OpenCL on my laptop must have been corrupted, because when I uninstalled and re-installed the latest version, the above problem disappeared.

VS Code Stop Support for Yosemite Mac OS 10.10 as Electron fails

I was using VS Code on Mac OS 10.10.5 Yosemite, without problems but even though at VS Code's site there's a claim that it works on version 10.10+, it seems there was a change because after I installed and linked it to Anaconda, first it failed to load and now is also giving an error when I opened Electron, inside the package it returned this

so it seems they quietly discontinued support for Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite ...
When I tried to open the app using the finder I got an alert saying 'this is an application for Mac OS 10.11 an onwards ...', among other things.
I downloaded the Jan2021 older version of VS code and was able to successfully download and launch it. https://code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_53
I have tried several version by now and can safely say that:

From what I can tell, this issue is not consistently reproducible across different Macs running the same macOS version but it is common enough that it is creating problems. How do I fix this?
For reference, a couple of issues reported in electron-releases discusses the cause and solution for this problem: #34 and #30.
In short, this problem occurs when a build is using an older version of the MacOSX10.12 SDK where the availability macros are incorrectly indicating availability of the kSecAttrKeyTypeECSECPrimeRandom symbol on target os versions where it is not. This causes non-weak linking to be used for the symbol, effectively making it required, and thus causes failure on systems where it is missing (i.e. systems prior to 10.12 - Sierra). The solution for us was to use a corrected version of the MacOSX10.12 SDK, such as the one provided with Xcode 8.3.3, when building our releases.

Xcode 6.3.1 quit unexpectedly

I'm getting an error Xcode 6.3.1 quit unexpectedly whenever Xcode is opened. This was working fine till last night. I have tried restart system but didn't worked. Reinstalling won't be feasible approach since I have downloaded simulator and documentations (approx 8GB of data).
Below is details of error :

Remove any 3rd party plugins that you had installed with xcode and it should work fine.
This is probably because of DYKeyedUnarchiver.h. So remove it, restart system and try reopening xcode.
Now, it's working fine. Simply kept system shut-down for sometime. Maybe shutdown have reset all settings of Mac.

Ruby gives "Ruby interpreter (CUI) 1.9.3p545 [i386-mingw32] has stopped working

I'm trying to get Ruby working on a new Windows 8.1 machine. I've downloaded and run rubyinstaller-1.9.3-p545.exe from http://rubyinstaller.org/downloads/, selected the option for it to set the path in the environment, and everything seemed to install just fine. But when I do ruby -v I get a popup dialog with the error

How do I get Ruby working on this computer?
Edit: I need it pretty urgently, so in the absence of responses I'm going to try a factory reset on the computer and starting again from scratch.
I had the same problem with rubyinstaller-2.2.3, and then rubyinstaller-2.0.0-p645 on Windows 10 machine. What helped is switching to x64-compatible installer (rubyinstaller-2.2.3-x64 in my case).
