backup Android, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Ubuntuu Folders to the same server - windows-7

i know this question is not typical for stackoverflow, but maybe some of you are willing to help me managing my backup strategy. i want to upload certain folders from my android device, windows 8.1 tablet, windows 7 notebook and ubuntu on my workplace. the best strategy for me would be the following as i figured out:
android folders should be backed up with the condition:
2 hours after i plugged the phone in for charging
same condition for my windows 8.1 tablet:
backup the folder 2 hours after i plugged in for charging
my windows 7 notebook should backup:
every time after restart
same condition for ubuntu:
backup every time after restart
i appreciate every idea that brings me further to mange this, especially for apps that could help me on windows and ubuntuu. google didnt help me a lot yet.
Best regards and sry for my bad german english

Alright, since no one has answered, it's actually pretty easy. I've literally just done this with my sisters Windows Phone 8.1 (Nokia Lumia 909) - use MicroUSB cable, make sure the phone is unlocked (i.e. you can see the "Live Tiles") and Ubuntu should mount it automagically. It'll show "Phone" as a drive, go into that and you'll see the following folders: Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Ringtones, and Videos.

Internet Explorer times out when using Windows 8.1 VM

When using my virtual machine, I'm trying to gain access to the Internet, but unable to get IE to start, when clicking the icon it doesn't react. I've done some research and a couple of hours troubleshooting, but no luck. It does appear to be a problem for some, but they don't have the exact same problem I do.
Here's what I've come across while troubleshooting:
1) OS is windows 8.1 32-bit, but my host machine is 64-bit, because of this there might be compatibility issues. Not much more on this though, no explanation on whether that is the problem at all.
2) My network settings could be wrong, but I'm attached to a bridged adapter, my IP's match for both VM and Host, and I can access the web when I use a web browser app (but the app that can't download anything, so I can't download google chrome or the necessary files I need to study).
3) Others say that the problem is Windows 8.1 itself. That VMs just don't work as they should like Windows 7.
I clicked to uninstall Windows explorer, but it seems it doesn't exist, and it doesn't have an icon on the home screen.
Could it be that the .iso I downloaded did not have IE included?
The original need for the VM was to test Docker containerisation for a report. Should I scrap the whole idea and try for Windows 7 64-bit instead? That's all I can do if I can't find a solution.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

BootCamp drivers, lost $WinPEDriver$ folder, how to create it

I have an macbook air 2012, I recently installed Windows 10 in it using bootcamp.
I also downloaded the bootcamp drivers, and a folder named "BootCamp" and "$WinPEDriver$" were created in my Windows10 bootable usb. I was able to use it to install Windows10 and use it.
Then due to space issues I deleted the Windows partition, thinking I can always reinstall it, if needed.
Now I wish to reinstall it, but when I took a backup of the bootcamp drivers, I only backed up the "BootCamp" folder, I forgot to backup the "$WinPEDriver$" folder. Without "$WinPEDriver$" folder, Windows10 get installed without the drivers. When I try to manually start the setup.exe in BootCamp folder, it quits saying "$WinPEDriver$" folder is missing. So I created a empty folder named "$WinPEDriver$". With this the driver installation does proceed, but everything except the Broadcom_Bluetooth_Driver are getting installed. I tried to install the Bluetooth driver alone manually, that also didn't help.
So my question is,
Is there a way were I can download the "$WinPEDriver$" folder alone from Apple site. I live in a place where bandwidth is very low, so downloading another 2 GB of drivers will take 3 more days, and may also get interrupted frequently.
Or can I create the "$WinPEDriver$" folder manually, just as BootCamp Assitant creates it.
Or Is there a way to download the bluetooth drivers alone from apple site.
My bluetooth chipset information is Broadcom USB 20702A3.
Thanks.
Just create a blank folder called '$WinPEDriver$'and it'll work, I know you've probably sorted it by now but i thought i'd leave this here in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
I was able to download Apple bluetooth for windows drivers from a Parallels KB article on titled Unable to use Apple Bluetooth USB Host Controller in Virtual Machine
As for the "$WinPEDriver$" it is included in the newest version of Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5769 although it is still large at 542.3 MB it is not the 2 GB you feared it would be.
The download includes both the BootCamp and $WinPEDriver$ folders.
Good luck!
Incase anybody needs this when you open up Bootcamp Assistant below the 'Action' tab there is a download button to install 'Windows Support Software'. You can download from there and plug in to the Windows by using flash drive or hard disk and make the setup.

Deploy to Windows Phone 7

New to Windows Phone 7 development.
I am using Windows 7 32 bit pro
I am using VS2010.
I connect my WP7 mobile.
I can see the files in Windows Explorer.
I create a New W7 project. I select deploy to device.
I get this error:
"Zune software is not launched. Retry after making sure that Zune software is launched"
Zune is installed.
It seems to be running?
It still does not deploy.
I Google around.
All the answers are to select the Emulator instead.
I don't want the emulator. I want to use the device.
What else can I check?
I found that on Google:
http://dhakshinamoorthy.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/getting-almost-started-with-windows-phone-7-1-development/
Αt some point says:
" Now build the project, if everything goes right you will get an error. “Zune software is not launched. Retry after making sure that Zune software is launched.”, and please do so. Also make sure, you don’t have any keypad lock on your phone device. Also make sure the phone is not pin locked."
So in my opinion the problem is that your phone is locked and Zune can't access your device.

WP7 SDK tools can't find device

Just went through hell today reformatting my laptop and redownloading Visual Studio for Windows Phone and I've been getting this ridiculous error all day. When I try to deploy my project on my HTC Radar 4G, I keep getting Error
Failed to connect to the device. Ensure that the device is completely booted and is connected to the PC.
I registered my device from work about a week ago and was able to deploy a little sample app I made shortly after that, but now none of the SDK tools seem to know what my phone even is.
It started 2 nights ago when I was at work and plugged the phone in and was unable to deploy anything to it, figured it was my work pc or some of the bum USB cables we have so I went home and tried on my personal laptop and still no go.
I've seen a lot of people on forums having this problem and a million snake oil solutions like rebooting the phone, rebooting the computer, unplugging, replugging, reinstalling, and deleting certificates, but nothing is working.
Anyone have any ideas why this phone won't deploy anymore? I haven't tried a hard reset yet because I have a lot of contacts and stuff to backup and it would be a huge hassle for something that probably won't work.
I don't recommend using Zune to connect to the phone for development purposes. It has worked on and off for me in the past.
You should use The Windows Phone Developer Tool Windows Phone 7 Connect Tool. Then turn off the Zune option that tells it to open automatically when you connect the device. It should work good after that.

Test website in Internet Explorer using Mac [duplicate]

This question already has answers here:
Is there a IE tester for mac? [closed]

Closed 10 years ago.
I'm a webmaster that use mac platform to develop. Can someone suggest me the best way to test my website with IExplorer using a Mac? There're some virtualizer such as parallel, crossover, wine and so on, can someone suggest me the best for this purpose?
Or some other workaround is appreciated (i really don't need an entire copy of windows, only to test my websites on IE6 and IE7 using my mac)
First: Look at the question linked to in the comments. If you just need to see what a site looks like, browsershots.org will do the trick. But if you need to fully test and debug, you need Windows. But that can be done too:
Purchase Parallels Desktop
Download free Windows virtual machines directly from Microsoft made specifically for this purpose. You can rename the .exe self-extracting archives .rar instead, and unpack with anything that can extract RAR files
Import the resulting virtual machine image into Parallels, and you're done
Just know that many of the Windows images are huge. You'll need something like 40GB free to download, unpack and convert the Windows Vista and Windows 7 images (once you're done, you can of course toss a bunch of stuff out again)
Edit: Oh, yeah, forgot to mention: The Windows images last about 3 months at a time before they lock down completely, and you have to download a fresh copy. Microsoft obviously isn't giving away fully-fledged Windows copies for free :)
One option is to join MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network subscription) to get access to all Windows versions in all languages etc. You can install those you need in separate Parallels virtual machines (VMWare and virtualbox would work as well).
This allows you to install the exact version some customer happens to have, e.g. certain old Windows Server with certain IE version, etc to replicate the environment for testing and regression testing.
I would say that virtual machine installations are a must so you get the exact complete real thing.
MSDN has different options, "OS only" would be probably enough for this need (I had other needs for Windows development tools as well so got the full MSDN). MSDN has a cost (on the order of $1k/year) but was worth it to get access to everything for development and testing purposes.
PS. The only fun thing was that as a Mac-based UNIX developer I had many versions of Windows and many versions of Linux installed on my MacBook, but only one installation of OSX ;-) Some people also thought it was fun to see a "Mac developer" with "MSDN subscription", but whatever gets the work done, is the way to go.
