I developed web application where I need to allow users to embed their google analytics dashboard. In order to access analytics dashboard I need client_id and service_email.
Is there a way to grab client_id and service_email using OAuth, I don't want to force users to manually create client_id so they can integrate dashboard.
Just to mention I'm using Laravel 4.
I get what's the issue here.
You actually have to set up a new project in https://console.developers.google.com. That is where you actually enable OAuth to Access Google Analytics API. The client_id and service_email you are referring to are actually the developer's one, which are accessible under Project > API & auth > Credentials in the Dashboard.
There's quite a lot to take in. I'll be available to clarify concepts for you.

I'm working on a Laravel site where users could connect their Google account and manage their Google calendars directly from within the site. I found https://github.com/spatie/laravel-google-calendar but I'm not sure that it really meets my needs.
That package doesn't seem to follow the authentication flow (OAuth 2) I'm used to with other APIs. It uses service accounts and stores credentials in JSON files where I usually save access and refresh tokens in my users table.
So am I missing something or is that package not made for that kind of site ?
How can I programmatically retrieve information about an OAuth client given its appId (xxxx.apps.googleusercontent.com). I am interested in retrieving Google API scopes the app is requesting (e.g.: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email) along with marketplace ratings and user coun t (if applicable).

I believe you can only access those stats if you own the app/add-on. Assuming that you're working on a GSute add-on, if you deploy the app via GSuite Marketplace you'll have to explicitly specify the scopes your app requires and you can check those scopes from your Google Console. I believe that there is also a dashboard available to the app developer (probable from Google Console) with analytic data related to performance.
I received this message for the second time and i still dont understand why. Can someone help me?
Action required: Critical problem with your Google Cloud/API project
Youtube API (id: tonal-topic-123301)
Dear Developer, We have recently
detected that your Google Cloud/API project Youtube API (id:
tonal-topic-123301) is using a Google product name as the project name
shown to users on the OAuth consent screen, which violates the Google
API Services: User Data Policy. You can fix the problem by revising
the project name and other relevant content so that the OAuth consent
screen shown to users accurately reflects the identity of your
application. To revise the project name visible to users, please take
the following steps:
Please review the Google API Services: User Data Policy, specifically
the following section- "Do not make false or misleading statements
about any entities that have allegedly authorized or managed your
application. You must accurately represent the company, organization,
or other authority that manages your application. Making false
representations about client credentials to Google or Google users is
grounds for suspension."
Sign in to the Google Cloud Platform Console.
Select your project.
On the Home Page Dashboard, select Go to APIs overview under APIs.
In API manager, select Credentials on the left bar, then select OAuth
consent screen. Change the name in the field under Product name shown
to users and then click on Save. We will suspend your Cloud project in
3 days unless you correct the problem. Please submit an appeal if you
have any questions. Please note that you should be logged in as the
project owner to access the appeals page. For more help on submitting
an appeal or to learn more about the process check the Policy
Violation FAQ. Please take a moment to review the Google API Services:
User Data Policy, the Google API Terms of Service, the Google Cloud
Terms of Service and the applicable Terms of Service for the specific
Google API you are using so that you do not violate our terms and
policies in the future.
This is obviously a naming issue regarding something in the google product range.
You Should be able to re-name your project to solve this.
If not, try a Google forum or help pages.
The problem you are having is that Google does not allow you to use a Google product name as the name of your in your application. Users can become confused and assume your third party application was created by them.
How to fix it:
Go to Google Developer console find the credentials screen. Click on the Oauth consent screen tab at the top rename your application.
Note: If you don't do this google is going to shut down your application they are very picky about this.
I have this example - Embed API Third Party Visualizations - working locally and on a test server, but I'm unsure of what I need to do to ONLY display our organization's Google Analytics data instead of the user's personal GA account.
I created the project and clientID within our org's Google Account, but I'm obviously not understanding something big here.
I'm completely new to both GA's API and oAuth in general, so while I'm sure this has been answered multiple times, I wasn't completely sure which direction to look in. If someone can give a helpful nudge in the right direction I'll happily be on my way.
Thanks everyone!
Embeded API uses Oauth2 to authenticate. Oauth2 requires that a user give you access to their Google Analytics data.
You want to show your person Google Analytics data to other users. Normally I would say you should use a Service account, a service account gives the application direct access to a specific account it has to be set up like you would add a user to Google Analyitcs. The problem is the Embeded API uses JavaScript, for security reasons its probably not a good idea to use a service account with JavaScript. I also think it may be against Googles terms of service to use a service account with JavaScript. That being said I have never found anyone who has gotten a service account to work with JavaScript probably for the reasons I just stated.
Drop the embedded API and switch to a server sided language of some kind and code it yourself. What you want to do cant be done with the embedded API.
I am using Oracle ADF Essentials with Glassfish server. How to authorize users against their google account. I came across Google OAuth API . How do I go about with Google's OAuth2 using Oracle ADF. After authentication I would also need to access the user's youtube profile (like uploading videos under his profile, get the user uploaded youtube video), thats later, I need authentication first ;)
Thanks
If all you need is authentication, see https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2Login
That’s at the REST level; the Google APIs java library takes care of this at a higher level: http://code.google.com/p/google-api-java-client/
