Hi I want to list emails using context io.But some times it returns zero messages and show blank page.So I decided to do it using ajax.
Step1 :First I take the count of messages
Step2 : Check if count>0
Step 3: if count>0 =>list message
Step 4 : else again take count and repeat step 3 and 4
My code is,
$(function() {
var contid='<?php echo $_GET['contextio_token'];?>';
$("#ajaxloader").html('<img src="<?php echo base_url();?>images/ajax-loader.gif" style="width:60px;">');
$.ajax({
type:"POST",
url:"<?php echo base_url();?>index.php/gmailControl/countContext",
data:"contxtid="+contid,
success:function(result){
if(result>0)
{
viewContextIO();
}
else
{
refreshContext();
}
}});
});
function refreshContext(){
var contid='<?php echo $_GET['contextio_token'];?>';
$("#ajaxloader").html('<img src="<?php echo base_url();?>images/ajax-loader.gif" style="width:60px;">');
$.ajax({
type:"POST",
url:"<?php echo base_url();?>index.php/gmailControl/countContext",
data:"contxtid="+contid,
success:function(result){//alert(result);
if(result>0)
{viewContextIO(); }
else
{
setTimeout(refreshContext, 10000);
}
}});
}
function viewContextIO()
{
var contid='<?php echo $_GET['contextio_token'];?>';
$("#ajaxloader").html('<img src="<?php echo base_url();?>images/ajax-loader.gif" style="width:60px;">');
$.ajax({
type:"POST",
url:"<?php echo base_url();?>index.php/gmailControl/view_contextIOmsg",
data:"contxtid="+contid,
success:function(result){//alert(result);
$("#ajaxloader").html('');
$("#contextmsgcnt").html(result);
}});
}
But some times it takes more than 30 refresh and finally got a 500 internal server error.
I think it is the problem of server overloading.Is it a correct logic or is any other solution?any one please help me
If you're not seeing messages when using one of the API libraries then there's likely a problem with the account connection. Too many requests to the server can cause the email provider to throttle access to the account from outside services.
If you're still having problems just email us at support#context.io.

This ajax post is working in localhost but not in godaddy server. I dont know how to solve this kind of issues. Please let me know how rectify this issue.
Ajax is not working in many places. Locally all of files are working very fine.
I am new to php. Anyone can help me to fix this bug?
Thanks in Advance
function advanced_addTopic(cid) {
$.ajax({
url: "assets/php/checkSubtopicStatus.php", // Url to which the request is send
type: "POST", // Type of request to be send, called as method
data: {'cid':cid}, // Data sent to server, a set of key/value pairs (i.e. form fields
success: function(data) // A function to be called if request succeeds
{
if(data==="True"){
$("#subtopicDiv").html($("#subtopicDiv"+cid).html());
$("#advanced_testid").val(cid);
var hiddenCourse=$("#createTest").attr('class');
$("#courseHidden").val(hiddenCourse);
$("#advanced_addquestionModal").modal('show');
$("#subtopic").focus();
$("#question").focus();
var tempVal=$("#getID").text();
$("#advanced_courseHidden").val(cid);
} else {
alert("Create subtopics to insert questions!");
}
}
});
My PHP CODE IS:
<?php
class loginValidation {
function validate()
{
ob_start();
session_start();
include "../../connection.php";
$id=$_POST['cid'];
$query = mysql_query("select * from advanced_subtopic where testid='$id'");
if(mysql_num_rows($query)>0){
echo "True";
} else {
echo "False";
}
}}$loginValidation=new loginValidation;
$loginValidation->validate();
?>
Using Ajax URLs like
url: "http://domainname.com/assets/php/checkSubtopicStatus.php";
If you use your domain name HTTPS enter the same as an Ajax URL.
Trying to implement sending sms features in my ecommerce store.
I use service called esteria.lv and they provided me with API link that looks like this: http://api1.esteria.lv/send?api-key=api_key&sender=example.com&number=11223344&text=message
If the message is sent then it outputs message ID, now it outputs error number 3(unable to authenticate).
To get it working with my ecommerce store, I found this resource: http://www.ajax-cross-origin.com/examples/cross-origin.htm, and made this code:
$(function() {
$( '#btn' ).click(function(){
$.ajax({
crossOrigin: true,
url: 'http://api1.esteria.lv/send?api-key=api_key&sender=example.com&number=11223344&text=message',
success: function(data) {
$( '#test' ).html(data);
}
});
});
});
It works, but the problem is, it sends 6 messages (requests) instead of just one. I need just 1 request and one sent sms. Anyone have any suggestions?
To answer your comment, this is what you should do.
In your javascript you should have an ajax call to your server
// collect sms data
$.ajax({
url: 'yourserver/handlesms',
method: 'post',
data: {
sender: 'email#mail.com',
number: '1234567',
message: 'Test message'
}
}).then(function (data) {
alert("Message sent!");
});
In your server you should have an handler for sending the sms, something like (I don't know what's your platform, I'll just write a really simple php example)
$data = $_POST;
$apiKey = '12345643223213ds';
$endpoint = 'http://api1.esteria.lv/send';
// Create new curl request
$ch = curl_init($endpoint);
// curl settings, add your data, api key etc...
$result = curl_exec($ch);
// Result will contain the response from your api call
// Then you can send a result back to your client (js)
echo json_encode(['status' => 'Message sent!']);
This is just an example, the server code depends on your platform.
In this case you don't have any cross origin request (all the js request will be sent to your server, that then is in charge of contacting your sms provider and send the messages.
The problem that's executed 6 times I think depends on something else but it's hard to say without looking at the rest of the code (you can try debugging the click event on #btn and see how many times is executed every time you click on the button.
I have a link on click of which a request should go to web server and on successful execution a redirection should happen. I have used ajax for this but I am getting NS_Binding_Aborted error in HTTpFox.
The code:
<a id="lnkredirect" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="myfunction();">Some text</a>
The ajax code:
function myfunction(){
$.ajax({
url: Web server Url,
type: 'POST',
datatype: 'JSON',
timeout: 20000,
data: null,
success: function{ $("#lnkredirect").attr('href','redirection link...');},
error : function{ $("#lnkredirect").attr('href','redirection link...');}
)};
return true;
}
The redirection is happening but I am getting NS_Binding_Aborted error in Firefox. In both success and error scenario, the redirection should happen but why NS_Binding_Aborted is coming, I am not sure of this. NS_Binding_Aborted error should come only if one event is cancelling some prior running event but I have already suppressed href of the link and redirecting it once the ajax request is executed, so there should be only one server call and NS_Binding_Aborted should not come. Please let me know where am I going wrong?
I got a similar trouble, also while using both a href and a XmlHttpRequest inside a onclick. My XMLHttpRequest was aborted (ns_binding_aborted) and thus never reached status 200. I also could see that my XHR was "blocked by devtools" in Firefox console.
This was because the page was reloaded (by the href) before it could finish its job (what was in the onclick).
I had something like this:
<script type="text/javascript">
function incrementNumberOfDownloads() {
var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) { // 4 = request ended, 200 = success
//update displayed number of downloads
document.getElementById("numberOfDownloads").innerHTML = this.responseText;
}
};
xhttp.open("GET", "incrementNumberOfDownloads.php", true);
xhttp.send();
return true;
}
</script>
<p id="numberOfDownloads">42</p>
Download my file !
I fixed the problem by adding a target="_blank" to my download link, so that the page is no more reloaded when clicking, enabling the XMLHttpRequest to finish with success.
This is caused by another request that abort your request. Generally when your goal is reload data o all page just end request and don'ts is synchronized request, a little novell error.
In this case the "return " sentence is the problem, the return sentence must be in success seccion.
My issue fixed, when I've changed calling native js form submit event to jQuery submit event.
// this code
form[0].dispatchEvent(new Event("submit"));
// changed to
form.submit();
I've been developing an application locally and am running into trouble on the actual server.
Whenever I submit an AJAX request with jQuery it gives me an error with error status:0 and and statusText: 'error'.
The Chrome inspector doesn't even show a response code for the request, it just says failed.
When I inspect it closer, I notice that all of the data was sent and the PHP file actually processed it. For example, in the request below, the user was indeed created. The bad response code is preventing other requests from executing (since they depend on a 'successful' response).
Here is a sample request:
var cct = $.cookie('ttc_csrf_cookie'); // csrf protection
var sUrl = "<?= base_url(); ?>user/create/";
var serialized = {
name: me.name,
email: me.email,
oauth_provider: 'facebook',
oauth_uid: me.id,
ttc_csrf_token: cct
};
$.ajax({
url: sUrl,
type: "POST",
data: serialized,
error: function(someStuffHere) {
//* THIS CODE RUNS. SHOWS ERROR STATUS: 0 */
},
success: function(user_id) {
//******** THIS HERE NEVER RUNS ***********///
}
});
And here is the corresponding PHP code:
public function create() {
if($this->input->post()) {
$user['name'] = $this->input->post('name');
$user['email'] = $this->input->post('email');
$user['oauth_provider'] = $this->input->post('oauth_provider');
$user['oauth_uid'] = $this->input->post('oauth_uid');
$user['last_activity'] = date('Y-m-d H:i:s');
$user_id = $this->Users->create_user($user);
$this->session->set_userdata('user_id', $user_id);
echo $user_id;
}
}
These two snippets are only an example. All AJAX requests won't work on the live sever.
What could it possibly be? Thanks!
UPDATE: I've narrowed it down and the issue occurs when echo'ing a result. When I comment out the echo, no error is thrown (but, of course, no result is sent).
Turns out that the issue was caused by the compress_output option in CodeIgniter. When it's set to true, the echo's don't work. Thanks for everyone that tried to help!
I'm trying to run some tests on some Ajax code we have written, now obviously when tested locally it runs very fast and is great. I need to enforce a delay of 3 seconds so that I can see that the loader is being displayed and the user experiance is good enough.
I have tried the following but recieve the error "Useless settimeout" any other suggestions to achieve this? Any browser plugins?
$('#formAddPost').submit(function() {
//Load the values and check them
var title = $(this).find('#Title');
var description = $(this).find('#Description');
var catId = $(this).find('#Categories');
if (ValidateField(title) == false || ValidateField(description) == false) {
$('.error-message').show();
return false;
}
$('.error-message').hide();
//Show the loading icon
$('.add-post').hide();
$('.add-post-loader').show();
//Temp for testing - allows the showing to the loader icon
setTimeout(MakeAJAXCall(title.val(), catId.val(), description.val()), 1500);
return false;
});
function MakeAJAXCall(title, catId, description) {
$.ajax({
url: "/Message/CreatePost/",
cache: false,
type: "POST",
data: ("title=" + title + "&description=" + description + "&categories=" + catId + "&ajax=1?"),
dataType: "html",
success: function(msg) {
$('#TableMessageList').replaceWith(msg);
$('.add-post-loader').hide();
$('.add-post').show();
}
});
}
As you're testing your page for a delay in the server response, can you put a delay in the server side code instead of client side?
You might be able to do that using fiddler.
The examples scripts include some samples that pause the response.
Would this tool from jsFiddle.net be helpful?
