How to root Amazon Fire TV after the most recent update? I have tried xda-developers recommendations but I have encountered that after the most recent update, the suggested apks to root the device don't work anymore.

see http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-root-the-amazon-fire-tv/ however it looks like with the more recent firmware updates Amazon have locked the device down so it can't be rooted, so unless you have an earlier build you're out of luck

We recently purchased a Chromecast to cast to our old (but very good) computer monitor as a substitute TV. Unfortunately, the monitor doesn't support HDCP, so the Chromecast OS refuses to display anything. Is there anything we can do in software (I hear root can be achieved) to disable this requirement?
There is no official way of doing that; if you consider the reason behind the HDCP requirement, you'll realize that Google will not enable any means to disable that.

I foolishly ran the following code
file.remove(list.files())
Is there any way of retrieving the deleted files. I am working in windows XP + R 2.15.0
You need to get a NTFS (or FAT32, though unlikely) file recovery software. Restoration and Undelete Plus are a few of them
