Getting error ORA-01722 and ORA-06512 in the procedure - oracle

I am getting error while trying to run this procedure. I am passing 36 to p_nb_months and p_msg_per_loop is taking default value.

Second argument of function add_month must be number data type, so just change your cursor from

The error you got (ORA-01407) means that you are trying to update a column (which is set to NOT NULL) with a NULL value. That won't work. For example:

The only UPDATE in your code is this:
UPDATE zivot_trajni_nalog_ponude SET redni_broj = p_rbr;
Apparently, p_rbr is NULL, redni_broj won't accept it and you got the error.
What to do? Debug your code and see why p_rbr doesn't have a value. A simple "solution" might be

Also, although not related to your problem: don't COMMIT within a loop.
ORA-01407 occurs as you are trying to update/Insert a column to NULL
when the column does not accept NULL values.
To find all the "not null" columns in table ZIVOT_TRAJNI_NALOG_PONUDE, Please check the DDL of the table.

How to access and query objects passed as parameter to a procedure while converting from Oracle to postgresql

I have a procedure in Oracle that I need to convert to Postgresql and need help on it. It paases a collection of objects in a procedure.The procedure then checks if each object is present in a database table or not and if present it gives a message that , that specific element is found/present. if some element that is paassed to the procedure is not present in the table, the procedure just doesnt do anything. I have to write equivalent of that in postgresql. I think the heart of the issue is this statement:

In Oracle a collection can be treated as a table and one can query it but I dont know how to do that in postgresql. When you create a table in Postgres, a type with the same name is also created. So you can simply pass an array of the table's type as a parameter to the function.
Inside the function you can then use unnest() to treat the array like a table.

The row-by-row processing is not a good idea to begin with (neither in Postgres, nor in Oracle). It would be a lot more efficient to get the existing elements in a single query:

ORACLE : How to take a count rows in a table inside a procedure while the table is being populated by another procedure (oracle job)

I want to take count of a table inside a parent procedure while the table is being populated by another/child procedure. This second/chile procedure is started as a job from inside the first/parent.
The above is a simplistic description of certain decisions I need to take inside the first/parent based on the count. Example, If the row-count value of the table read inside the first/parent reaches a certain value I want to kill/remove the second/child job.
However, I am always getting the count(*) = 0 inside the first/parent, even though a select * on the table shows that the child procedure is populating the table.
What could be the reason and what is the way of getting a count ?

All im trying to do is insert some values input by the user to this new table, which is empty.
Also when donation amount is < 10 I want a error out.
Follow these steps.
Run this query select status from all_objects where object_name = 'TBL_USER_TRIGGER' and object_type = 'TRIGGER';
If the status is invalid run alter trigger trigger2 compile;
Then run show errors
It will throw the errors for you. You need to fix those.

Oracle table type to nested table cast error

I declared table type and set a value in it with using loop. I am having an error while I was casting this t_table

Why do you want to do a select onto the the type? You would use the the TABLE() and the CAST rather if you have a collection in a column stored in a table.
You could just loop through the table in your code. Example:

Since l_tab is of type t_table, there's no need for the cast. But that's not your problem.
Your problem is that you're trying to reference a PL/SQL type in SQL, which you simply can't do. You can either remove the select as #hol suggested or make the type a database object (which will allow SQL to access it):

There is a second problem with the initial code, in that you are running a select without telling the code what to do with it. Unlike some other procedural SQL extensions, PL/SQL does not allow you to implicitly return a handle to a resultset (prior to 12c). You must either handle it directly or explicitly return a ref_cursor that points to it. The code above has been update to primitively handle the result of the query.
