Unable to build Maven project - maven

Hi I am getting this error while creating a maven project, can any one help please.
Steps-> Create a Java project -> right click and select Configure -> Convert to Maven project
Errors occurred during the build.
Errors running builder 'Maven Project Builder' on project 'Test'.
Could not calculate build plan: Plugin org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:2.5 or one of its dependencies could not be resolved: Failed to read artifact descriptor for org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:jar:2.5

Is this in Eclipse? If so check your Maven installation preferences under "Window - Preferences - Maven - Installation". To match the behaviour of running maven from the command line, you should add your external maven installation here.

Not able to create a Maven Project. I am using eclipse photon

Error thrown is

I have checked maven installation using cmd and it shows there. I think some issue with pom.xml or settings.xml is there but not sure. I am new to Maven.

maven project setup configuration in eclipse

I am unable to find the reason for this error. Can anybody please help me on this regard?

Maven Build Error when I move my project to another system

I am trying to setup Maven Project in another system which is perfectly working in my system.
But when I try to run in another system. It is throwing below error:

Note: I want to use Maven version 3.3.9 in the new system (I want to upgrade).

I am new to the maven, like to create spring integration using maven in eclipse(mars). But getting below while creating the maven project in my local machine. Kindly help me on this.
