Could you try using: spring-boot-starter-parent with 1.5.x.RELEASE since you are using Spring Cloud Dalston.RELEASE ?

Jongo Maven dependency causing run time issue

I have a Maven project where I am using the Jongo dependency with the following POM.
<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/xsd/maven-4.0.0.xsd">

<properties>
<project.build.sourceEncoding>UTF-8</project.build.sourceEncoding>
<maven.compiler.source>1.7</maven.compiler.source>
<maven.compiler.target>1.7</maven.compiler.target>
</properties>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<version>4.11</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>com.yammer.dropwizard</groupId>
<artifactId>dropwizard-core</artifactId>
<version>0.6.2</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>net.vz.mongodb.jackson</groupId>
<artifactId>mongo-jackson-mapper</artifactId>
<version>1.4.2</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.jongo</groupId>
<artifactId>jongo</artifactId>
<version>1.2</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.joda</groupId>
<artifactId>joda-money</artifactId>
<version>0.10.0</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.jersey.jersey-test-framework</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-test-framework-core</artifactId>

</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>javax</groupId>
<artifactId>javaee-api</artifactId>
<version>7.0</version>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
</project>
Now when I run my Main class , I get the following error in eclipse , although the project is built successfully using Maven , this error shows up when I run the Main class. I am using JDK 1.7 ,any ideas ?
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.VerifyError: (class: org/jongo/marshall/jackson/configuration/AbstractMappingBuilder, method: <init> signature: ()V) Incompatible argument to function

I removed the following dependency and it solved my problem.

Include latest version of spring and hibernate in project using maven

How to include latest version of spring and hibernate in project using maven, what all dependencies are needed to be added in pom file.
You can create pom.xml file like this.
<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd">
<modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion>
<groupId>com.test</groupId>
<artifactId>SpringHibernateAnnotations</artifactId>
<packaging>war</packaging>
<version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
<name>SpringHibernateAnnotations Maven Webapp</name>
<url>http://maven.apache.org</url>
<properties>
<spring.version>4.0.5.RELEASE</spring.version>
<hibernate.version>4.3.5.Final</hibernate.version>
<log4j.version>1.2.17</log4j.version>
<jdk.version>1.7</jdk.version>
<context.path>SpringHibernateAnnotations</context.path>
</properties>
<build>
<finalName>${pom.artifactId}</finalName>
<plugins>
<!-- Maven compiler plugin -->
<plugin>
<artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
<configuration>
<source>${jdk.version}</source>
<target>${jdk.version}</target>
</configuration>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>log4j</groupId>
<artifactId>log4j</artifactId>
<version>${log4j.version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-orm</artifactId>
<version>${spring.version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-jdbc</artifactId>
<version>${spring.version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-web</artifactId>
<version>${spring.version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-entitymanager</artifactId>
<version>${hibernate.version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-webmvc</artifactId>
<version>${spring.version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>jstl</groupId>
<artifactId>jstl</artifactId>
<version>1.2</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>mysql</groupId>
<artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId>
<version>5.1.6</version>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
</project>
You can change version according to your requirements.
Go to Maven Central Search, search for Spring and Hibernate and find the latest versions.

Missing dependencies in "testing Java persistence" guide

I am studying Arquillian platform. To do examples I use Eclipse. I first successfully followed
http://arquillian.org/guides/getting_started/
and after that, I tried to do code examples in
http://arquillian.org/guides/testing_java_persistence/
but I am having library dependency troubles:
import org.jboss.arquillian.container.test.api.Deployment;
import org.jboss.arquillian.junit.Arquillian;
are not recognized by Eclipse.
This is the pom.xml file
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/xsd/maven-4.0.0.xsd">

</configuration>
</plugin>

<artifactId>slf4j-simple</artifactId>
<version>1.6.4</version>

</dependency>
</dependencies>
</project>
The Arquillian BOM should be present as a dependency in the dependencyManagement section of your POM, and not as an ordinary dependendcy, like so:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/xsd/maven-4.0.0.xsd">
<modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion>
...
<dependencyManagement>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.jboss.arquillian</groupId>
<artifactId>arquillian-bom</artifactId>
<version>1.1.1.Final</version>
<scope>import</scope>
<type>pom</type>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
</dependencyManagement>
...
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<version>4.8.1</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
...
<dependency>
<groupId>org.jboss.arquillian.junit</groupId>
<artifactId>arquillian-junit-container</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.jboss.arquillian.container</groupId>
<artifactId>arquillian-weld-ee-embedded-1.1</artifactId>
<version>1.0.0.CR3</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
...
</dependencies>
</project>
Note the use of the Arquillian BOM and the arquillian-junit-container dependency (whose version is specified via the BOM). Not using the Arquillian BOM would require you to specify the version of the arquillian-junit-container dependency. The other required depdendencies are junit:junit and an Arquillian container adapter (in your case, the Weld embedded container adapter).
