I need to create a project in a application using j meter but in HTTP request parameter contains "created on(date & time)" If I give the details and compiled the testplan no error is shown but project is not created. How can I give time stamps for multiple projects created by multiple users simultaneously. Is there any listener to get time stamps automatically.
JMeter provides __time function to generate timestamp in arbitrary format controllable via SimpleDateFormat patterns.
For more information on this and other JMeter functions see How to Use JMeter Functions post series.

While doing Testing I need to taken the token from Oath API and use it in another subsequent API's which is successfully done. But when HTML report is generated through CLI the Oath API's Response time and Throughput is also calculated, is there a way we can ignore that request ?
Add to requests JSR223 PostProcessor below them which will ignore request/response
prev.setIgnore()
prev - (SampleResult) - gives access to the previous SampleResult
Call this method to tell JMeter to ignore this SampleResult by Listeners
There are following options:
Add JSR223 PostProcessor as a child of the Sampler(s) you need to exclude from Listeners/test results/whatever and put the following code into "Script" area:
prev.setIgnore()
Use FilterResults Tool (available via JMeter Plugins project, can be installed using JMeter Plugins Manager), it allows excluding sample results basing on strings or regular expressions or time offsets or both
JMeter .jtl result files are basically CSV files, you can use your favourite text editor or tool like MS Excel to remove the result entries you're not interested in
Please guide me whether is there any way to get the response data from jmeter to robotframework? I have integrated robotframework with jmeter and my use case is to do the data base validation using robotframework for that i want to get the unique id which i recieved in jmeter responce data.Due to some use case i cannot perform Database validation in jmeter itself.
I Dont see any keyword in the documentation,
https://kowalpy.github.io/Robot-Framework-JMeter-Library/JMeterLib.html
I don't think the plugin offers such functionality so the most straightforward way is writing your unique id into a file, depending on how you're getting the ID you can:
Use Save Responses to a file listener - it stores the whole response into a separate file
Use Sample Variables property - it adds specified JMeter Variable(s) values as a separate column(s) in the .jtl results file
Use Flexible File Writer listener where you have the full freedom to choose regarding what, where and how to store
Once done you can read the file using OperatingSystem library and do whatever you need with this ID
I have a scenario where one of the test REST API returns a transaction_Id, this transaction Id I need to pass in my next request(API Request), also upload the file as well. This upload file has name format like ${transaction_Id}_1_1_bkg.raw,without correct format backend server may not be able to analyze the data.
Since I have to run a load test, these transaction Ids will generate at run time and the same I have to change the file name and upload it as well.
Did any one had face this challenge before in Jmeter to change the file name at run time and upload it, if yes, what was the solution.
Thanks,
Akshat
You could copy the file to a new one with the desired name using JSR223 PreProcessor like
org.apache.commons.io.FileUtils.copyFile(new File('template_bkg.raw'), new File(vars.get('transaction_Id') + '_1_1_bkg.raw'))
where vars stands for JMeterVariables class instance, see the JavaDoc for more information on all existing functions and Top 8 JMeter Java Classes You Should Be Using with Groovy article to learn more about JMeter API shorthands available for the JSR223 Test Elements.
Once upload is finished you can delete the file using JSR223 PostProcessor
I have just tried jmeter examples using ant task. I got the HTML output. Now,
I built my application using c#.net,asp.net,javascript,jQuery,Ajax,Json etc.
This is the url http://localhost/test/pagemanager.aspx which shows my
LOGIN Screen. Once after login, the user can access over multiple menus(pages) to access like checking their personal data, overall student details like batch wise, registering a new student etc... My URL http://localhost/test/pagemanager.aspxremains constant at every time.
The site can be accessed by multiple users for multiple times. I needs to find a load testing. Can some one give me a configuration step to find load testng to my application.
Thanks in advance.
First of all I would recommend recording your test scenario steps starting from login via JMeter build-in HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder.
See JMeter Proxy Step by Step guide for detailed instructions.
Once you have recorded test flow you'll need to do some correlation as the nature of ASP.NET applications assumes mandatory dynamic parameters like VIEWSTATE. So you'll need to extract VIEWSTATE and similar from previous server response and add it to next request.
See ASP.NET Login Testing with JMeter for more details.
Im new to JMeter and have just created a test plan using the proxy server.
The test plan covers a fairly long user journey on a web app with a lot of pages, images, scripts and css being requested, because of this when I run the test plan and view the results in a listener such as the 'View Results Tree' the sampler list is very long and if I try and use a graph there are so many results its hard to make out individual values.
Is there a way in JMeter where I could group all the requests related to a page under that page and only have to page name display in the listener but still have the ability to drill into an individual page and see the details for each sample?
Thanks.
For this you can use Transaction Controller:
https://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/component_reference.html#Transaction_Controller
Keep Include duration of timer and pre-post processors in generated sample unchecked.
If you're looking to learn jmeter correctly, this book will help you.
I agree with PMD, Transaction controller is exactly what you need.
You can achieve that automatically (while you're saving your test) if you enable jMeter proxy's option Put each group in a new transaction controller.
A couple of more details (about jMeter Plugins' listeners I regularly use) here:
Define a group of requests in order to obtain a total time in Jmeter
You can use the tool BADBOY tool to record your test and there you can easily bifurcate/ remove the unwanted content.
From BADBOY you can directly Export the recorded script to JMeter by simply from
File menu>>Exort To JMeter
This is what currently we are following and is a bit easy to use.
