I was checking Analytics stats for my Magento store and found a few weird URLs with dozens of hits. The URLs where like this:
/domain.com
/checkout/cart/domain.com
Now I don't understand why Analytics is tracking those URLs as I cannot replicate this from my Magento store. I checked all the links manually and also checked my server logs, but can't find a clue about what is happening.
I'm using Magento Community 1.6 on a Nginx server, with Redis caching set. I also use Cloudflare.
Any clues?
Thanks in advance!

I am currently experiencing some problems with my Google search implementation due to a recent change to HSTS for my entire shop.
How can I create a Google sitmeap in Magento which uses the 'https://' links instead of 'http://' ?
I have already deleted my sitemap and generated a new one. It still suses http:// links.
In Google search console I see that only 8 of my 45 sites have been indexed so far..
Appreciate your help!
The sitemap links are generated using the {{unsecure_base_url}}. Make sure you change this value from http://yoursite.com to https://yoursite.com found at System->Configuration->Web Unsecure Base URL. Also, make sure both Use Secure URLs in Frontend and Backend options are set to "Yes".
I am trying to fix 404 pages through Webmaster tools however Magento seems to be linking to bad 404 pages somewhere. I don't believe users will be able to access these however spiders seem to be and I need to stop this somehow.
Here is an example of the link:
http://www.kidsrooms.co.uk/catalog/product/view/id/400/s/deluxe-pirate-ship-and-accessories/category/444/%s
Any responses will be greatly appreciated.
first truncate core_url_rewrite table manually from sql side, then reindex from admin panel.
All old and unwanted URl will updated.
I have a magento install on a staging environment, everything is working except the catalog backend page and the frontend layered navigation. Look at the image below. There is a backend within the backend. When visiting the page it refreshes to infinity. See this identical problem
My first guess is there is a bug in the template file but an identical template file on my local machine does not cause any issues. Additionally the database between my local and staging site are identical minus the core_config_url. The only difference is local I am running Apache and on staging I am running nginx.
The second issue which I imagine is related is that the filters on the frontend catalog page dont work. They are visible but clicking on them reloads the page without changing the products.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
UPDATE: After switching from NGINX to Apache the issue disappeared. I still would like to figure out what is causing the problem
I take for granted that you had already tried different browsers/clearing your browser cache and Magento cache (empty the cache directory), etc.
Are you sure you put the correct value in the cookie_domain setting? Many users that had your same problem seem to have setted up an incorrect value in that setting.
Take a look here and let me know.
I have found that usually this is caused by a server-side error on the ajax request. If there is any kind of error response returned, it will just continue to spin. Either check your Chrome console for a 500 response, or look in your server's error logs.
Im having an issue with SSL links in Magento.
I have SSL setup and working...all usual settings.
When i view the source of a page, i can still see HTTP links...and this is invalidating the SSL.
The urls in question (relating to currnecy, store switcher, navigation) are all given out by Magento functions. Such as:
getCategoryUrl();
getSwitchCurrencyUrl();
Does anyone know what may be wrong...is their something i may have missed?
Need any more info, pls let me know...
thanks
Shaun
This is a good thing in the fact that it 'help' prevent search engine from seeing links to your catalog and product page as also been https (causing duplicate content). Also to my knowledge, only if you have resources (images, css, js) it will affect (invalidate) your ssl (because of browser cookies). If you view source on a page with ssl magento will automatically convert those resources to https
I have enabled the SEO friendly URL on Magento 1.6 and it's working perfectly for category.
But the product URLs are showing the old URL format.
My current product URL looks like:
http://example.com/catalog/product/view/id/123/s/uppa-baby-vista-stroller/category/133/
What I should be like is:
http://example.com/uppa-baby-vista-stroller.html
I've already re-indexed the catalog and cleared the cache, but it's not rewriting the products with the SEO friendlier version of URLs.
I assume you are magneto default code.
After enabling SEO friendly URL don't forget to re-index from Magento admin.
The issue is that URL rewrites are not occurring,
Are you running Enterprise Edition 1.13?
If yes, more than likely your issue is with Magento's reindexing not occurring automatically. In 1.13, the reindexing occurs with a cron job. You must set up cron to run on your local server so that it will run automatically. To check if it has been setup, go to System->Index Management and check to see the last time product url reindexing has occurred. The reindex is what sets up the URL rewrites, you can check in the database to confirm that reindexing never happened (specifically in Enterprise Edition, look at tables enterprise_url_rewrite, enterprise_url_rewrite_redirect, and enterprise_url_rewrite_redirect_rewrite. See if these tables have rewrites for each of your products). If your products don't appear to have url rewrites in these tables, than reindexing never happened. My guess is that this is your issue if you are running EE 1.13. Follow this link to set up cron.
how to set cron job for reindex
If you are running Magento prior to EE 1.13 OR any version of Community edition, make sure that SEO Friendly URLs are enabled AND that you have reindexed. If this still doesn't work, make sure the Magento Core code hasn't been modified.
