I have a situation that user go to page with Kendo Grid and he can add new item to this Grid. Before he refresh page - new items are visible at the top of the Grid (stantard Kendo UI way)
I want to mark newly added rows, for example I want to have them shown in different colour than the "old' ones.
Is is possible to do this?

We are using pop up editor in the Kendo Grid control to edit the record.
My kendo grid has the below extra Controls as below.
Kendo dropdownlist
Div control
Add button
Remove button
A dropdown which has list of values that user will select and press the ADD button which is next to it.
then those values will be added to div control dynamically at runtime.
click on update in the editor, My controller updation action is getting fired.
Now i want to remove the items from the div tag using the Remove button. this time my controller update method is not firing.
I suspect that the changes in div is not firing the change event as the div control items dynamically added and removed.
How can i trigger the change event in the Remove button click function in jquery once i removed the div elements.
Please help me on this, trying this since 2 weaks.
I am using a kendo grid to display my data. I want to show another kendo grid inside one cell of my kendo grid. Is there anyway I can achieve this?
There is a 'way' (using the "template" option of the corresponding Grid column), however I would suggest to instead use Grid hierarchy to show details about current row:
Grid: hierarchy demo
Nesting another Grid inside cells of current Grid is not a good idea as it will not be usable, it will reduce the page performance etc.
I'm trying to use certain Bootstrap elements inside a Kendo Grid, it is Bootstrap dropdown buttons.The problem is the dropdown are always positioned below the row below or above. How can i find solution for this problem
I have a Kendo grid that when you click on a row, I would like it to update the contents of another grid on the page. How would you write a function to tell the grid to update the second grid? As an example, the first grid would be a list of states and the second grid would show all of the cities within the selected state.
Just bind the click event on the rows of your first table :
$("#states tbody").on("click", "tr", changeState);
and then change the data of your second table accordingly :
$("#cities").data("kendoGrid").dataSource.data(getListOfCities());
Here is just some sample code : jsFiddle
We are using Kendo UI MVC and need to filter a large number of records and display them in a read-only DataGrid. The page has MultiSelect widgets that each let the user select from a list of distinct values for a specific database column. After the user has entered his selections in the MultiSelect widgets he will click a 'refresh' button to update the grid. The Grid's DataSource.Ajax.Read method should pass the user's selections to the server and display the results in the Grid.
I know how to populate the MultiSelect widgets and how to return data from the server via Ajax but I'm unclear on how to pass the user's selections to Grid.DataSource.Read().
What is the best way for the button to pass the user's selections to the DataSource, fire the Read method, and display the results in the Grid?
EDIT: Putting the widgets inside the Grid's ToolBar will meet our needs.
Embed the widgets in Grid.Toolbar.Template
