Msvcr100d.dll missing when build project in VS2013 - visual-studio-2013

I use VS2013 on Win 8.1 (I don't install VS2010).
I have solution file(version 2010). When run in on VS2013, I have just converted to version 2013.
I click run my project, success but show error "MSVCR100D.dll missing"
Please, help me to fix this error.

You're missing the redistributable package that is installed with VS2010. You can download the package here, which should include that dll: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328

mfc120d.dll is missing after opening my project exe

I have a MFC vc++ project and I have exe file for this project using Visual Studio 2013. When I open the project exe it is working fine on my development machine.
But when I open this exe in my customer's machine, I'm getting this error message:
The program can't start because mfc120d.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
I noticed that my project exe file is working if the system has Visual Studio installed. I also installed "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013", but even then I'm getting same error. Please suggest a solution.
This is because you deployed a debug version of your app. If this was intentional (to be able to debug remotely? ) you can find and deploy the mfc120d.dll from your VS2013 installation directory.
Otherwise just build the Release configuration and you should be fine.

Visual Studio 2017 does not detect Windows Driver Kit installation

I already have Visual Studio 2017 professional with Desktop Development with C++ installed.
I am trying to build the Virtual Serial project found here:
https://github.com/Microsoft/Windows-driver-samples/tree/master/serial/VirtualSerial
When I try to build it, I get the error:
Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State
Error MSB8020 The build tools for WindowsUserModeDriver10.0 (Platform Toolset = 'WindowsUserModeDriver10.0') cannot be found. To build using the WindowsUserModeDriver10.0 build tools, please install WindowsUserModeDriver10.0 build tools. Alternatively, you may upgrade to the current Visual Studio tools by selecting the Project menu or right-click the solution, and then selecting "Retarget solution". virtualserial C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise\Common7\IDE\VC\VCTargets\Microsoft.Cpp.Platform.targets
I cannot find any instructions on installation aside from this website.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/download-the-wdk
I downloaded the WDK for Windows 10, version 1803.
I closed VS2017 and ran the installer.
When running the installer I got the message in the screenshot below, I clicked Next to continue installing
After running the installer, the project still does not build, with the same error: WindowsUserModeDriver10.0 is not installed.
What am I missing during installation? Is this the correct installer for regular VS2017 (not community edition)?
Thanks,
I know this is old, but I recently fell into this rabbit hole. What worked for me was uninstalling all of the WDKs, rebooting, and installing WDK 1803 (the wdksetup.exe program downloaded from Other WDK downloads shows version 10.0.17134.1 in properties). That WDK installer specifically calls out VS 2017 when you add the Visual Studio integration at the end of the install process.
In my situation, I installed vs2022 with SDK 19041 and WDK 19041.
After some testing, I realized that VS2022 only supports WDK 22621(so on this date). So I installed WDK 22621 and SDK 22621, and problem solved.
If you still can't find Kernel Driver Build option, try run this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Vsix\VS2022\10.0.22621.0\WDK.vsix(WDK 19041 only has VS2019). It's a Visual Studio's extension.
According to this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware-winpc/windows-wdk-on-visual-studio-2017-community/fdbd2b44-e57a-4849-903d-04001205a764
WDK is not currently supported by visual studio 2017.
This is ridiculous

install White error using Nuget in Visual Studio 2015

I try to install white in VS 2015, using the command
Install-Package TestStack.White
But it always show the error message below:
I already tried following to fix the problem, but can not work:
1) uninstall the visual studio, and reinstall
2) remove the nuget and install again
How do I fix this problem?
Anyone has idea of how to fixing this problem?
You should use this command with a solution is open in Visual Studio 2015. Just as the error message mention that “Install-Package : The current environment doesn't have a solution open.”, If you do not have a project that is open, nuget does not know where to install the package.
You can check my test results below, the first installation without a solution open, then second installation with TestStackWhite solution open:
Hope this can help you.

Nuget versioning issue with package restore

I am unable to install a package (using package restore) due to some kind of versioning issue with Nuget. Here are the steps I took:
build project:
error : The schema version of 'MagicalUnicorn.MvcErrorToolkit' is incompatible with version 1.6.21205.9031 of NuGet. Please upgrade NuGet to the latest version from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=213942.
Extension manager says version is: 2.0.30619.9119.
Ok, restart VS as administrator, extension manager uninstall nuget.
restart VS as administrator again, search for nuget and install.
Extension manager again says version is: 2.0.30619.9119.
rebuild project:
error : The schema version of 'MagicalUnicorn.MvcErrorToolkit' is incompatible with version 1.6.21205.9031 of NuGet. Please upgrade NuGet to the latest version from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=213942.
Ok, so restart VS as administrator, extension manager uninstall nuget again.
This time download from http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/27077b70-9dad-4c64-adcf-c7cf6bc9970c
Run the installer, all seems ok.
Grr! Any ideas?
It looks like problem in nuget command line tool. When you enable 'Nuget package restore' feature it adds .nuget folder to you solution with nuget.exe. And when you compile project this tool is using to download missing packages, not VS extension is used here. So try update this tool from command line:
cd .nuget
nuget.exe update -Self
Procedure screenshot:
The following worked for me in Visual Studio 2012:
Run VS 2012 as Administrator
Click Tools -- Extensions and Updates
In the left nav, Updates -- Visual Studio Gallery
Click Update on NuGet Package Manager
Install the update
Restart Visual Studio
None of the offered solutions worked for me (Visual Studio 2013, Nuget Package Manager Version 2.8.5).
I had same error but it was saying I had version 2.5.4.
I fixed it by going to Tools > Nuget Manager Console > Nuget Package Console. This open's up a command line window. At the top of the window was a prompt to download missing packages for my project.
Pressed the download button and errors went away upon build.
I was facing the same issue. I resolved it by selecting Tools on VS 2010 Menu --> Library Package Manager --> Package Manager Settings --> Check "Automatically check for updates". After that I restarted VS and was prompted for Nuget Update Installation. Once the update was installed, the Nuget package, HTTP Client in my case, got installed smoothly.
I faced to this problem and I checked all answers that were this page and at the end my problem did not solved. After lot of search on web I could update my nuget from original site
http://docs.nuget.org/docs/start-here/installing-nuget
and for example for vs2010 :
http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/27077b70-9dad-4c64-adcf-c7cf6bc9970c
At this site select your version of VS and then update it .
Note : before installing nuget, close all Visual Studios and after install,Open your project.
Thanks
This above did not work for me, completely. There is one last step that is IMPORTANT to note. After downloading the latest nuget version, you may notice that the same error prints in the output window. The reason is due to the .nuget folder containing a NuGet.exe which specifies a version number.
The solution (for me and perhaps to those of your that did not resolve your issue with the above directions), is to
Delete the .nuget folder from you solution.
Right click your web project and click Enable Nuget Restore.
The directions above should cause a NEW .nuget folder to be added, this time the NuGet.exe should be the newest version of nuget that you downloaded.

Can't open the VSVim project

I have a clean install of Visual Studio 2010 with C# and F# installed and I am getting the following error when I try to open the solution cloned from github.
D:\projects\VsVim\VsVim\VsVim.csproj :
error : The project file
'D:\projects\VsVim\VsVim\VsVim.csproj'
cannot be opened.
The project type is not supported by
this installation.
Is there a way to get more information about what exactly I am missing so that I can install the components?
You probably need to install the Visual Studio 2010 SDK.
Noah is correct that the most likely problem is you need to install the Visual Studio SDK. The full steps to getting VsVim to open and compile are the following (taken from the README.txt file in the enlistment).
Install the Visual Studio SDK
Run the script Populate-References.ps1 from the enlistment root directory
Open the Solution.
