Execute wamp without asking Admin password (windows) - windows

I have a problem executing WampServer on my user computer
is there a way to permit the user execute WampServer and to restart Apache server without having to enter Admin password ?

login as an administrator;
Install wamp
Download subinacl.exe from microsoft:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=23510
grant permissions to the regular user account to manage the WAMP services:
(subinacl.exe is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Resource Kits\Tools)
subinacl /SERVICE \MachineName\wampapache /GRANT=domainname.com\username=F
subinacl /SERVICE \MachineName\wampmysql /GRANT=domainname.com\username=F
logout and log back in as the user. They should now be able to launch the WAMP taskbar application and control the WAMP service.

Access denied when using runas on Windows Server 2022

This is something I encountered after upgrading our servers from 2016/2019 to 2022:
When I tried to open our Active Directory with another user, it would always deny the access even though the user has full admin rights.
I do not know what exactly they changed or why it is happening.
Since I do not have access to the Group Policy (outsourced IT), I had to do the following for every server:
Stop the seclogon service (if running) over the console with net stop seclogon
You need to open the console with admin rights for this to work. Paste the following wrapped command into the console and press enter:
sc sdset seclogon D:(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWRPDTLOCRRC;;;IU)(A;;CCLCSWDTLOCRRC;;;SU)(A;;CCLCSWRPDTLOCRRC;;;AU)S:(AU;FA;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;WD)
The runas command will now work again.

You can use offline nt password and registry editor. Here http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/ is the original source.

How to setup FTP on xampp

i want to make a server using xampp. i have already installed xampp and setting port 8080. php and mysql work fine but i can't access ftp from internet. Can you please suggest way how can I do this?
XAMPP comes preloaded with the FileZilla FTP server. Here is how to setup the service, and create an account.
Enable the FileZilla FTP Service through the XAMPP Control Panel to make it startup automatically (check the checkbox next to filezilla to install the service). Then manually start the service.
Create an ftp account through the FileZilla Server Interface (its the essentially the filezilla control panel). There is a link to it Start Menu in XAMPP folder. Then go to Users->Add User->Stuff->Done.
Try connecting to the server (localhost, port 21).
XAMPP for linux and mac comes with ProFTPD. Make sure to start the service from XAMPP control panel -> manage servers.
Further complete instructions can be found at localhost XAMPP dashboard -> How-to guides -> Configure FTP Access. I have pasted them below :
Open a new Linux terminal and ensure you are logged in as root.
Create a new group named ftp. This group will contain those user accounts allowed to upload files via FTP.
groupadd ftp
Add your account (in this example, susan) to the new group. Add other users if needed.
usermod -a -G ftp susan
Change the ownership and permissions of the htdocs/ subdirectory of the XAMPP installation directory (typically, /opt/lampp) so that it is writable by the the new ftp group.
cd /opt/lampp
chown root.ftp htdocs
chmod 775 htdocs
Ensure that proFTPD is running in the XAMPP control panel.
You can now transfer files to the XAMPP server using the steps below:
Start an FTP client like winSCP or FileZilla and enter connection details as below.
If you’re connecting to the server from the same system, use
"127.0.0.1" as the host address. If you’re connecting from a different
system, use the network hostname or IP address of the XAMPP server.
Use "21" as the port.
Enter your Linux username and password as your FTP credentials.
Your FTP client should now connect to the server and enter the /opt/lampp/htdocs/ directory, which is the default Web server document root.
Transfer the file from your home directory to the server using normal FTP transfer conventions. If you’re using a graphical FTP client, you can usually drag and drop the file from one directory to the other. If you’re using a command-line FTP client, you can use the FTP PUT command.
Once the file is successfully transferred, you should be able to see it in action.
I launched ubuntu Xampp server on AWS amazon.
And met the same problem with FTP, even though add user to group ftp SFTP and set permissions, owner group of htdocs folder.
Finally find the reason in inbound rules in security group, added All TCP, 0 - 65535 rule(0.0.0.0/0,::/0) , then working right!
On XAMPP click "Start" and after "Admin".
Login to localhost (127.0.0.1) without password, with second port, not with 21.
Add users and passwords, change your settings. Quit.

MySql 5.6 Windows reset root password for the service

I did all this: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/resetting-permissions.html
The mysqld is running in the command prompt and I can connect with the new password. But, the database is gone.
Luckily i found my root password again, and tried to login (with workbench) when the service is running normally with the "networkservice" user. Now I wonder why I can't change the password for the networkservice instance. It seems that the database is hooked up to that windows user.
I installed the mysql with the installation wizard.I have tried a lot of things, I cant reset the password for the MySQL 5.6 service running on Windows 8. I have tried running the reset as administrator in cmd, and it starts an instance in the command prompt, I can connect with the new password, but it's not the same as the MySql56 service...
I have tried to run start paramters in the service options, but it seems that windows are ignoring it when starting the services.
Any suggestions why?
I needed to change the defaults-file destination to the hidden folder: C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6\my.ini

Re-enable Remote Desktop Windows Firewall Rule on Windows Azure

I have disabled the remote desktop firewall rule in a Windows Azure virtual machine. As you would expect, I can no longer remote desktop in to the server.
Does anyone know if it is possible to re-enable the Remote Desktop Windows firewall rule?
What I have tried
As a long shot, I have downloaded the Windows Azure CLI but can't see anything in there that would do it but have not found anything.
I have also tried to execute the following command against the MSSQL server:
EXEC xp_cmdshell 'netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="remote desktop" new enable=Yes';
GO
I am getting the following message from the query:
The requested operation requires elevation (Run as administrator).
Please tell me I don't have to re-create the site (which is backed up).
If you're using a VM inside a resource group with the new azure portal, you can do this:
Click reset password
Change mode to "Reset configuration only"
Click update and wipe your sweat off :)
It turns out that all I needed to do was to PowerShell into the Azure VM.
Steps:
Make sure PowerShell is enabled in the Endpoints section of the Azure portal.
Get the server's certificate (PowerShell needs this for remote commands). You can get the server certificate by going to your domains' URL: https://yourdomaing.cloudapp.net:12345 (where :12345 is the port that PowerShell uses).
Export the SSL certificate of the site as a .CER file and install it on your local machine.
Save it to the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" store on your machine.
Open PowerShell with administrative privileges on your local machine and type:
Enter-PSSession -ComputerName yourdomain.cloudapp.net -Port 5986 -Credential YourUserName -UseSSL
A login popup will appear, enter your VM's login credentials here.
You will now be able to execute commands against the Azure VM. In my case, I ran netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="remote desktop" new enable=Yes and exited the PowerShell session and was able to remotely connect to my machine.
