Cannot get spring-data-neo4j to connect to remote database - spring

I am building a small proof of concept Spring Boot app which is supposed to connect to a Neo4j instance and perform some basic operations on a couple of different Nodes. If I have the main application class wired to create an embedded Neo4j service using the following code, everything works fine. (this is based on the working example https://spring.io/guides/gs/accessing-neo4j-data-rest/)

This is the only code sample I can find though for connecting to a Neo4j server from spring boot. If I try connecting to a remote server, the code fails to start with the exception at the end of this question. Our plan is to run a centralized Neo4j instance which is obviously a common production requirement.
How can or should I configure my bean to connect to a remote Neo4j database or is anyone aware of a solid working example of this kind of setup?

I have seen several references to using SpringCypherRestGraphDatabase so I have this being handled in my Main application class is as follows:

Please share your application as github-project for testing. Perhaps it is also a dependency issue of the spring-boot-starter? Which boot version are you using??
Perhaps you can check mvn dependency:tree if there is any older version of SDN pulled in and if so, update the neo4-version-property for the spring-boot-starter.

The reference which you are giving doesn't contain Neo4j URL.
Hence Here is Application.properties file to connect to your Neo4j.
spring.data.neo4j.uri=bolt://localhost
spring.data.neo4j.username=neo4j
spring.data.neo4j.password=Your_Password
Start your Neo4j Database as a console application which will run on localhost:7474 port most probably.
command to start:
neo4j console
Also check the dependency. As the latest version work with only

Spring boot 2 with apache camel application start error

I have a requirement where I need to listen to a active mq and call rest post api for the data I have recieved as body, for this I have created simple spring boot 2.x application and trying to start a router, but application is failing to start.
My understanding about registering a Router is to anottate a class with #Component and it should implement camel RouteBuilder

Try removing the camel-spring dependency. This should be pulled transitively through camel-spring-boot-starter.
The error message could be a problem with different Camel versions. For example if ${camel.version} in your POM is not defined or not equal to 2.24.0 you could have mixed Camel versions for camel-spring and camel-core.
If there will be any resource can't able to downloaded in your system so for this you have to uninstall the application and delete all the files from c/program-file/ and then install it again. Hope it will help you out from this issue.

ElasticSearchHighLevelClient springboot Autoconfiguration not working

I am trying to autoconfigure elasticsearch high-level rest client using this documentation

You should add the stacktrace for the NullPointerException.
You did not write which versions you use (Spring Boot, Spring Data Elasticsearch). But the current Spring Boot 2.2.2 targets Spring Data Elasticsearch 3.2.x which uses Elasticsearch 6.8.5. So this won't work with an Elasticsearch 7 cluster. Support for Elasticsearch 7 is coming with the next version (Spring Data Elasticsearch 4.0)
I hope you are using spring-boot-autoconfigure dependency because RestHighLevelClient bean is initialized by this library based on the presence of RestHighLevelClient in the classpath. Check the dependency tree for the presence of spring-boot-autoconfigure.

Mockito cannot mock this class: interface

I'm having an issue with mockito and powermock, I can mock an abstract class with a final static method with no problems. When trying to mock an Interface as with WebIServerSession I'm getting the stacktrace below. I've had a look at other issues in powermock github repo and it seems to be related with the jvm version. I've already upgraded to the latest 1.8 java version as stated in https://github.com/mockito/mockito/issues/636 and I'm still getting the same error. Might it be related with Powermock compatibility with Mockito 2?

Ignore the warning of overriding managed version in pom.xml
Make sure your interface visibility is public.
I am not sure that it will be the solution in your case. I got the same issue when I was testing in Android Studio.
My solution was replace core-mockito with
androidTestImplementation "org.mockito:mockito-android:2.25.0"
Then it started working perfect.
It may be solution for those who are testing for Android Studio and having the same issue.

I also experienced this problem when trying to mock a non-public interface, and the error message didn't make sense, as all my tests in another suite passed correctly while mocking the same interface.
In my case I had to downgrade the Mockito Core library and revert it again to make it work. Here are the steps I took:
Find the Mockito Core dependency in the module level build.gradle file entry:
testImplementation 'org.mockito:mockito-core:2.25.0'
Downgrade to another valid version, in my example 2.23.0:
testImplementation 'org.mockito:mockito-core:2.23.0'
Do a Gradle sync and wait for completion
Revert the Mockito Core dependency to the same version you had before (or newer):
testImplementation 'org.mockito:mockito-core:2.25.0'
Sync the project again
Run the tests again
I had a similar issue. I was surprisingly having:
Mockito cannot mock this class: interface javax.servlet.ServletContext.
This was only when I ran my test in my IDE (IntelliJ Idea). If I tried to run it via maven command - it passed.
To make the test work in IntelliJ Idea I just changed the configurations:
Set Shorten command line to JAR manifest.
It's Strange but after adding below line in build.gradle file it work for me

I also have this problem by using IDEA, finally choose Shorten command line: "JAR manifest" solved

Testing Neo4j with Spring Boot and embedded driver

Problem
I build an application using a Neo4j database. I like to test some custom Cypher queries using Spring Boot's #DataNeo4jTest annotation (see also Spring Boot Test - Neo4j), but I run in either one of the following problems:
The test tries to connect to a Neo4j instance using the BOLT driver.
The test fails to load the embedded driver.
Details
My dependencies are managed with Maven following the Spring Data Neo4j Reference Documentation. Section 10.3.1 of the SDN documentation explains:
By default, SDN will use the BOLT driver to connect to Neo4j and you don’t need to declare it as a separate dependency in your pom. If you want to use the embedded or HTTP drivers in your production application, you must add the following dependencies as well. (This dependency on the embedded driver is not required if you only want to use the embedded driver for testing. See the section on Testing below for more information).

Without the test/resources/application.yml I get the following exception, which I assume is caused by using the BOLT driver:

I have found a solution to my problem. It seems as if the BOLT driver is used as default for testing as well - which is confusing given the Spring Data Neo4j (SDN) documentation. Finally, the pom.xml of the GitHub project movies-java-spring-data-neo4j helped me. I added the following test dependency to my pom.xml:

</dependency>
I kept the test/resources/application.yml but removed the line:
spring.data.neo4j.uri: file:///neo4j.db
Now, the test context starts with the embedded driver, and creates a temporary database file like file:/C:/Users/Me/AppData/Local/Temp/neo4j.db6943517458205762238/, which is awesome. I can get a clean database instance for every test method.
I hope this answer will help others, who have the same problem. I'm happy to provide more details if necessary.

using embedded amqp swith spring boot and camel

I want to integration test a custom camel component and therefor need an embedded/in memory messanging I can easily use to test from/to endpoints.
I am hoping that I can achieve this via spring-boot-amqp-starter.
I used this example for a start, which has the dependencies:

This is working, when I use regular Listener annotations in spring, I have a sender using the template and a consumer logging the messages.
Now I go one step further and use camel, but it does not recognize the vm:embedded broker but tries to connect to tcp://localhost, which is not running.

Update:
I use dependency management imports for spring-boot-dependencies (1.5.9)
and camel-spring-boot-dependencies (2.20.1).
This has been fixed in newer versions of activemq-camel when you use that with Spring Boot. Now the activemq-camel component will honor the spring boot configuration of the spring.activemq.* settings.
