issue with hadoop secondary node - hadoop

I am new to hadoop. When I run wordcount test project, evrything works fine. But, I can't access the JobTracker at http://localhost:50030. in fact, when I get my secondary node log file, I get exception message :
java.io.IOException: Bad edit log manifest (expected txid = 3: [[21,22], [23,24]
[8683,8684], [8685,8686], [8687,8688], [8689,8690], [8691,8692], [8693,8694], [8695,8696], [8697,8698], [8699,8700]]...

Btw, when I run jps, I get 53745 JobHistoryServer 77259 Jps
UPDATE : here's my config
in core-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>hadoop.tmp.dir</name>
<value>/usr/local/Cellar/hadoop/hdfs/tmp</value>
<description>A base for other temporary directories.</description>

<name>mapred.job.tracker</name>
<value>localhost:9010</value>
</property>
</configuration>
and nothing is set in my yarn-site.xml

If you are using latest version of Hadoop, then Job Tracker will not be available. Job tracker is replaced by Resource Manager and History Server.
If you want to access past job details, go to http://hostname:19888. This is the web UI address for job history server.
Please refer Hadoop Cluster Setup for further details.

"ERROR: Cannot set priority of secondarynamenode process 31231"

I have a problem with Hadoop. I am on mac OS and I have a problem when I want to launch my node.
I installed Hadoop this way :
brew install hadoop
I also configured the different files like this :
hadoop-env.sh :
export HADOOP_OPTS="$HADOOP_OPTS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Djava.security.krb5.realm= -Djava.security.krb5.kdc="
export JAVA_HOME="/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-17.0.2.jdk/Contents/Home"
core-site.xml :
<!-- Put site-specific property overrides in this file. --><configuration>
<property>
<name>hadoop.tmp.dir</name>
<value>/usr/local/Cellar/hadoop/hdfs/tmp</value>
<description>A base for other temporary directories</description>
</property>
<property>
<name>fs.default.name</name>
<value>hdfs://localhost:8020</value>
</property>
</configuration>
mapred-site.xml :
<configuration>
<property>
<name>mapreduce.framework.name</name>
<value>localhost:8021</value>
</property>
</configuration>
hdfs-site.xml :
<configuration>
<property>
<name>dfs.replication</name>
<value>1</value>
</property>
</configuration>
I finally executed this command:
hdfs namenode -format
Finally when I want to launch the command ./start-dfs.sh I get this error :
"ERROR: Cannot set priority of secondarynamenode process 31231"
I would like to specify that my main node launches correctly :
I can't find a solution on the internet.
Has anyone faced the same situation as me?
I tried all the solutions but doesn't work : localhost: ERROR: Cannot set priority of datanode process 32156
Sincerely,
For people who had the same problems as me, here is a tuto that might work:

Hadoop 3.2.1 Multinode Cluster Nodemanager is not running

I have Hadoop 3.2.1 installed on Ubuntu 16.04lts and my cluster has 18 datanodes and 1 master.
After running:
$ start-dfs.sh
$ start-yarn.sh
$ jps
On master I get the following:
ResourceManager
NameNode
SecondaryNameNodecode
jps
And on datanodes:
DataNode
jps
All the nodes seems to be live:
NameNode Overview Web Page
But when I reach the Cluster overview, none of my datanodes seems to be active:
Cluster Overview
My configurations files:
core-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>hadoop.tmp.dir</name>
<value>/home/hadoop/hadoop-3.2.1/tmp</value>
</property>
<property>

</property>
</configuration>
The namenode and datanode directories exists on every host (master and datanodes)

</property>
<property>
<name>yarn.nodemanager.resource.memory-mb</name>
<value>2048</value>
</property>
</configuration>
Also I have configured hadoop-env.sh for JAVA_HOME Path and all the other variables are in .bashrc file (also in every host).
I have modified the /etc/hosts file to include all the hosts with their IPs and hostnames and finally I have also modified the workers file to include all the IPs of the datanodes.
The first time I have formatted the NameNode, the directories for the hdfs-site.xml was wrong (I had the datanode dir twice), so hdfs make its own directories under /tmp/hdfs/ (if I remember correctly). But I fixed this with formating again the NameNode with the corect directories.

Hadoop: datanode not starting on slave

I have two VMs setup with Ubuntu 12.04. I am trying to setup Hadoop multinode, but after executing hadoop/sbin/start-dfs.shI see following process on my master:
20612 DataNode
20404 NameNode
20889 SecondaryNameNode
21372 Jps
However, there is nothing in the slave. Also when I do hdfs dfsadmin -report, I only see:
Live datanodes (1):
Name: 10.222.208.221:9866 (master)
Hostname: master
I checked logs, my start-dfs.sh does not even try to start datanode on my slave.
I am using following configuration:
#/etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.222.208.221 master
10.222.208.68 slave-1
changed hostanme in /etc/hostname in respective systems
Also, I am able to ping slave-1 from master system and vice-versa using ping.
/hadoop/etc/hadoop/core-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>fs.defaultFS</name>
<value>hdfs://master:9000</value>
</property>
</configuration>
#hadoop/etc/hdfs-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>dfs.namenode.name.dir</name>
<value>file:///hadoop/data/namenode</value>
<description>NameNode directory</description>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.datanode.data.dir</name>
<value>file:///hadoop/data/datanode</value>
<description>DataNode directory</description>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.replication</name>
<value>3</value>
</property>
</configuration>
/hadoop/etc/hadoop/mapred-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>mapred.job.tracker</name>
<value>master:9001</value>
</property>
</configuration>
I have also added master and slave-1 in /hadoop/etc/master and /hadoop/etc/slaveson both my master and slave system.
I have also tried cleaning data/* and then hdfs namenode -format before start-dfs.sh, still the problem persists.
Also, I have Network adapter setting marked as Bridged adapter.
Any possible reason datanode not starting on slave?
Can't claim to have the answer, but I found this "start-all.sh" and "start-dfs.sh" from master node do not start the slave node services?
Changed my slaves file to workers file and everything clicked in.
It seems you are using hadoop-2.x.x or above, so, try this configuration. And by default masters file( hadoop-2.x.x/etc/hadoop/masters) won't available on hadoop-2.x.x onwards.
hadoop-2.x.x/etc/hadoop/core-site.xml:
<configuration>
<property>
<name>fs.default.name</name>
<value>hdfs://master:9000</value>
</property>
</configuration>
~/etc/hadoop/hdfs-site.xml:
<configuration>
<property>
<name>dfs.namenode.name.dir</name>
<value>file:///hadoop/data/namenode</value>
<description>NameNode directory</description>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.datanode.data.dir</name>
<value>file:///hadoop/data/datanode</value>
<description>DataNode directory</description>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.replication</name>
<value>2</value>
</property>
</configuration>
~/etc/hadoop/mapred-site.xml:
<property>
<name>mapreduce.framework.name</name>
<value>yarn</value>
</property>
~/etc/hadoop/yarn-site.xml:
<property>
<name>yarn.resourcemanager.hostname</name>
<value>master</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>yarn.nodemanager.aux-services</name>
<value>mapreduce_shuffle</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>yarn.nodemanager.aux-services.mapreduce.shuffle.class</name>
<value>org.apache.hadoop.mapred.ShuffleHandler</value>
</property>
~/etc/hadoop/slaves
slave-1
copy all the above configured file from master and replace it on slave on this path hadoop-2.x.x/etc/hadoop/.

Pseudo Distributed Mode Hadoop

I have installed Pseudo Distributed mode Hadoop 2.7.3 in Mac & did all Configuration which is specified in Plural Sight. I Copied Csv file from Local to hdfs. But next day when i searched for files , it is not present in hdfs and removed automatically. Is there any other conf setting so that my files are not loss?
core-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>fs.defaultFS</name>
<value>hdfs://localhost:9000</value>
</property>
</configuration>
hdfs-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>dfs.replication</name>
<value>1</value>
</property>
</configuration>
Thanks,
Add these properties to hdfs-site.xml
<property>
<name>dfs.namenode.name.dir</name>
<value>/home/username/hadoop-dfs/name</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.datanode.data.dir</name>
<value>/home/username/hadoop-dfs/data</value>
</property>
The metadata and data blocks are stored under /tmp by default as it is the value of hadoop.tmp.dir. The contents inside /tmp are deleted on reboot.
After adding these properties, format the namenode and start the services.

Hadoop 2.5.1 job stuck at map 0% and reduce 0%

I am trying to run a word count example. My current testing setup is:
NameNode and ResourceManager on one machine (10.38.41.134).
DataNode and NodeManager on another (10.38.41.135).
They can ssh between them without passwords.
When reading the logs, I don't get any warnings, except a security warning (I didn't set it up for testing) and a containermanager.AuxServices 'mapreduce_shuffle' warning. Upon submitting the example job, nodes react to it and output logs, which suggests that they can communicate well. NodeManager outputs memory usage, but the job doesn't budge.
Where should I even start looking for problems? Everything else I could find is either old or non-relevant. I followed the official cluster setup tutorial for version 2.5.1 which left way too many questions unanswered.
My conf files are following:
core-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>fs.defaultFS</name>
<value>hdfs://10.38.41.134:9000</value>
</property>
</configuration>

<configuration>
<property>
<name>dfs.namenode.rpc-bind-host</name>
<value>0.0.0.0</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.namenode.servicerpc-bind-host</name>
<value>0.0.0.0</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.replication</name>

</property>
<property>
<name>dfs.namenode.datanode.registration.ip-hostname-check</name>
<value>false</value>

</configuration>

<configuration>
<property>
<name>mapreduce.framework.name</name>
<value>yarn</value>
<description>The runtime framework for executing MapReduce jobs.

</description>
</property>
</configuration>
yarn-site.xml
<configuration>
<property>
<name>yarn.nodemanager.delete.debug-delay-sec</name>
<value>300</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>yarn.nodemanager.aux-services</name>
<value>mapreduce_shuffle</value>
</property>
<property>

</property>
<property>
<name>mapreduce.jobtracker.address</name>
<value>10.38.41.134:50030</value>
</property>
</configuration>
Everything else is default.
I suggest you first try to get it working with a single server cluster so it's easier to debug.
When that is working, continue with two nodes.
As already suggested, memory might be an issue. Without tweaking the settings, it seems some 2GB is the minimum and I'd recommend at least 4GB per server. Also remember to check also the job's logs (under logs/userlogs, especially syslog).
P.S. I share your frustration about old / non-relevant documentation.
