My Visual Studio taskbar previews are like this:
It is showing since the last boot, as Windows was crashed last time, and the latest extension I have installed is VSCommands, but I don't think that is causing the problem.
There is no other issue, btw. Can anyone help please?
OS: Windows Technical Preview Build 10074.
VS: Visual Studio Professional 2013 Update 4.
If you need any more info, let me know.
VSCommands changes the VS taskbar previews to show the solution, branch and current file name. The feature is called "Solution Badges" and can be disabled from the VSCommands options page.

Recently i have been experiencing a weird issue with Visual studio for mac.
While doing any development a small window appears out of no where on Visual studio and stays there. And i can't do any code writing until i kill the Visual studio. Or may be i don't know the solution to this problem. I tried searching the internet but could not find any solution to this. I have attached a screenshot of the window below.
If any one has encountered and resolved this issue please help. Because this has become irritating.
This is a known issue and has been fixed.
You can check this link: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/Visual-Studio-for-Mac-freezes/1461790.
This issue is fixed with the Visual Studio 2022 for Mac Preview 1 release.
I'm a new to SSIS development and I'm using a 64-bit computer on Windows 7. I wanted to change a script task, but when clicking on the 'Edit Script' button nothing happens.
Here is the ScriptLanguage searched:
I tried a new installation VS2012 and SSDT_BI2012, as suggested on different forums, but that doesn't fixed my issue.
If anyone had the same issue can you guide me to the resolution?
If you need additional information please let me know.
Thank you
I had the same problem. Here is what I did to fix this issue:
Go to the control panel and locate the instance of Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA).
In your case you should look for something like "Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2012"
Right click on the VSTA component and select "Change"
In the next popup click "Repair"
In my case the problem was with Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2017:
Once I repaired this VSTA installation everything worked correctly.
I had the same problem. I tried to repair the Visual Studio with the installation, but it didn't work.
After, the solution that worked for me:
Install the SSDT in a new instance of Visual studio.
I have Visual Studio 2013 which included "PreEmptive Dotfuscator and Analytics".
It's always worked fine for me until recently.
Suddenly it will not open from Visual Studio, icon or commandline.
Even when I manually open it, it does not show up in the task manager.
It simply does nothing.
There's nothing in the Event Viewer logs.
Visual Studio shows no error.
Basically, I can't even begin to find the problem.
I tried to find a download to attempt to reinstall it but all I've seen on the website for this version is that it's included in VS2013.
There's other sites in search results which claim to have the installer but none I trust.
Has anyone had this issue in the past?
It's Visual Studio 2013 Professional on Windows 8.1.
I'm not sure how to address this so I would greatly appreciate any possible input.
Thanks in advance!
You can try uninstalling, wiping the settings, and reinstalling. Dotfuscator Community Edition is uninstallable via the Windows control panel. Once uninstalled, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\PreEmptive Solutions. You may be able to reinstall it as a component via the Visual Studio installer. If not, it is actually a standalone installer, so if you have a Visual Studio disc or .iso, it will be in \packages\Dotfuscator.
All of my coworkers can see in Visual Studio 2012 Solution Explorer when anybody else has code checked out.
The icon changes from Checked In to Checked Out By Another Person in Another Place.
But my Visual Studio does not update to change the icon when this takes place. I went to another coworkers desk and had them check out a file and then I went back to mine and the icon did not update. I checked out one of my files and it was correctly displayed on their screen.
Is this a bug in Visual Studio 2012?
Is there an option I can click in TFS, Visual Studio, or elsewhere where I can turn this option on?
It is quite annoying working with multiple developers and I do not know when somebody else has a file checked out.
I am currently running Visual Studio Professional 2012 - Version 11.0.61030.00 Update 4
When I open the VS2010 I cannot open any menu options.
try to open Visual Studio in Compabilty Mode.
i didn't experience any issue with it so far.
what are the reason behind using visual studio 2010 on windows 8 RP?
visual studio 2012 should be sufficient except that is might still have some bug.
Curiously the VS2010 is working accordingly in Windows 8. I´ve not done nothing to correct this.
