I haven't really been able to find anything that shows how to change a background image in inspect element.
My background image is set like the following:
How can I change this background image in inspect element?
Paste the image link in like:

Then you need to uncheck the color of the background. It should work then.
You should be able to click the background-image property value, "url(/images/rate.jpg)", and change the url to the desired image.

I have an button, and I told it which 'image' to use (setting the image in 'background' works too). I would like to make the image inside the button to be smaller than the button. I tried changing the content insets, the title insets, and the image insets, but none of them seem to be working. The content and image insets scoot the image around, but do not make it smaller.
I would like to accomplish this in the main.storyboard, and not do it programmatically, if possible.
Not the best solution but if you need any easy work around you can add the image as an UIImageView and then add a clear button over it with the padding u need
There is requirement where parsys should be added on top of an image. It is like a background image with the provision of parsys so that other components can be dragged and dropped on top of it. I am using html5smartimage for image component. But, no clue yet on how I can get the parsys on top of the image. Please help if you find any ideas. Thanks.
is the image authorable? If so, how do you intend to provide click-area for the authors to change the image vs edit items in the parsys.
If the image isn't authorable, just target the CSS for your parsys and set the image.
If the image is authorable, in edit mode you want the image to be distinct from the parsys and have separate clickable areas. Then in preview/disabled modes you would generate the actually desired markup & CSS to position the parsys content over the background image.
I am currently using the Image control in XAML, when the user taps on the image I want to display another image like a tap effect*, so for example I want to make the image a bit darker or lighter once the user taps on it, how can I do this using the image control?
I've managed to fix this with adding a new image to the mousebuttonup, mousebuttondown and mouseleave event of the image control
You could place a collapsed image with the same size at the same position as the first one. If the user taps the image, you show the previously collapsed image.
If you want to make your first image darker, set the background of your hidden image to black and opacity to 0.25 or something like this. When it gets visible your first image will be slightly darker.
Instead that you can try to customize the style of your button. In Visual State>>Pressed>>You can change the Color or you can give some animation as well.

I want to set an background to my listview that have different size (depending the appearance of softkeyboard). My list view is in between the editboxes and I want my editboxes always to be visible (means I do not want to use adjustPan).
My problem comes in the moment when the android adjust the size of my listview and the background get tweaked. I want my background to remain the same, just to be cropped.
and I want to look something like this
Is there any style that I can add that will make the image act like this, the point is to do NOT do an resize and to fill the whole available area. And to DO something like a CROP , means to show as much as there is an space and then the rest just to be cropped.
I found some workaround for the problem I want to solve. I set the scaleType with "centerCrop" value and it seems to work fine.
I hope this will save time to someone else having this problem...

I would put the listview in a linearlayout and put the background on the linearlayout.
As for the textbox at the top, if you have not figured that out, use relativelayout.

It's not possible to set transparent background for WebBrowser of WP7. To make impression of transparent background I want to do the following workaround. I want:
To find a position and size of WebBrowser on the page.
To get page's background image.
Crop it with values what I found on step 1.
To save result in IsolatedStorage
To parse HTML and place <body background="RESULTBACKGROUND">
MyWebBrowser.NavigateToString(NewHtmlString);
I think this should be a workaround of transparent background and should work.
For now I am trying just to place any .jpg image (let's say test.jpg) on step 5.
But fail. I have "Build Action" property of file set to "Content". It is placed in the root of the project. And <body background="test.jpg"> not working. Back of the WebBrowser is still white.
What I am doing wrong?

2Claus: No! Not only from web. I saved both html file and image file to IsolatedStorage and WebBrowser can show image as a backgroud.
Now the problem is that background cannot be fixed. I tried many differrent things with styles. I also tried to add a fixed div behind my text. Nothing works. The picture is always scrolling with a text. I tried to add onscroll event and pass it scrolled value to move the div in an opposite direction, but div is glued to the page :(

So assuming you're talking about the WebBrowser control, you're forgetting that the HTML only can refer to urls on the world wide web.
So either you need to host your background images on a website, or you need to inject a CSS style that sets the background to either white or black (the two default background-colours of the platform).
For WebBrowser, You don't actually have to save it to the ISO to make changes on the page. You can load it navigate to it normally, and then use InvokeScript to make the changes via custom JS code. It can be a little tricky though, as you will probably need to heavily rely on the eval and stringization. The problem mentioned by Claus is still there - but you need to do some experiments. With the Mango release and SDK 7.1+, the platform support IsoltatedStorage imagesources in the form of is://path/file - maybe - maybe - maybe squared - the webbrowser's renderer udnerstands them too - then setting your bkg's url to such would work. I doubt though, as it could be seen as some minor security breach, etc
I now bumped into the same background fixed image problem. For someone wandering here I solved it placing content into a fixed-height container (div) therefore the container contents is being scrolled and not the html page, leaving background picture "fixed".

Of course background-position and div height is set specifically for a WebBrowser position in page and it's size.
