I'm trying to create a "Configuration.ini" file to automate a future SQL Server Express 2014 installation. I have found several posts from all over the 'Net that tell me to go thru the installation as normal, choose all my settings, and before it's ready to install, the "Ready to Install" text on the left-hand corner of the screen will be bold and there will be a TextBox on the bottom with a path to the configuration file. As it turns out, neither one of these are showing up on the screen, and the Setup is not creating a Configuration.ini file. Why is it not creating an .ini file for me?
I found a post on codeproject.com that answered my question (http://www.codeproject.com/Questions/713204/SQL-Server-How-to-generate-a-configuration-fi) . When launching the setup.exe file for SQL Server 2014 Express, you need to pass in the following parameters when running the setup.exe in order for it to create a configuration.ini file:
Setup.exe /ACTION=INSTALL /UIMODE=Normal
When you pass in these parameters to the setup, not only will it create a Configuration.ini file for you, but you will be presented with a more detailed installation wizard with more options, including an option to either specify a "free" edition, or enter a product key.
Here is a screenshot of the what the wizard will look like when it show a link to the configuration.ini file

We have a laravel app (Version 5.5*) deployed in WIndows Server 2012 R2. But our development stack is LEMP. Same codebase works fine in development STACK but fails in WINDOWS SERVER.
Problem:
In our App, there is a REPORT DOWNLOAD queueable job which reads data from database table and generates an excel file using box/spout package(version 2.7) depending on user input date range (daily, weekly, monthly, etc) .
When running the queue:work command from cmd as administrator,
$writer->openToFile(‘path/to/file’) throws an error : failed to open stream : no such file or directory.
See this image for code snippet throwing error
Solutions I tried:
Setting right permissions(full control Read & write) for Storage folder of my project (For Users, IIS_IUSRS,IUSR)
Setting right permissions(full control Read & write) for C:windows\Temp folder (For Users, IIS_IUSRS,IUSR)
Created symlink for storage folder inside public
FYI:
OS: windows server 2012 r2
PHP: 7.2*
Laravel: 5.5.*
box/Spout package: 2.7.*
** AT LAST GOT THE SOLUTION AFTER GOING THROUGH ANSWERS OF OTHER QUESTIONS RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM **
You can follow the following procedure:
Go to IIS Manager
Select your desired project (For example: myexampledomain.com) listed under Sites
Go to Security tab and you'll see the users listed with their permissions on the folder.
Now, click Edit button to go to a new window and click Add. In the text box, type IIS AppPool\MyApplicationPoolName.In our example it should be IIS AppPool\myexampledomain.com.
Click Check Name and you'll see the test change with underline.
Click Ok. Add the appropriate permission(Modify, read, write) to the newly created user.
That's it!!!
Thanks to all for responding.

I have installed TestLink(testlink-1.9.15) and Mantis(mantisbt-1.3.3) on XAMPP successfully. Both of them can be launched in browser separately.
I want to integrate Mantis with TestLink. To do this I followed the doc "tl-bts-howto.pdf" which is located at \testlink\docs folder. In that PDF I found the following lines to configure Mantis in TestLink:
Step 2 – Test Link – Configure Mantis interface
Edit file /cfg/mantis.cfg.php
But, unfortunately I did not find any file named "mantis.cfg.php" in cfg folder of TestLink.
What can I do? Is there any way to configure/integrate Mantis with TestLink?
Prerequisite: Successful installation of XAMPP
Install and configure TestLink and Mantis on XAMPP
Browse TestLink on a browser and log in (In my case it was http://localhost:8077/testlink/ )
Click "Issue Tracker Management" link at the left
Click Create button -> Enter a Issue Tracker name as your choice (I inputted as "mantis - (Interface:db)")
Select "mantis (Interface: db) from the Type drop down and enter the text in Configuration text area mentioned in screenshot attached herewith.
Lastly click Save button to save
Note: In the above configuration text, be specific for individual information. It may vary person to person.
You can get the configuration example by clicking "Show configuration example" link
mantis.cfg.php is not part of Mantis. You can see this in the testlink source.
I'm using Visual Studio 2010 to write SSRS reports on my PC (Win 7 32-bit, if relevant?) for deployment to a standalone SSRS (non-Sharepoint).
I have written a report in "Report Project1" folder and when the user clicks on a textbox I would like to open a report that exists in a different folder (let's call it "Live").
In the Text Box Properties dialog box I have selected Action and clicked the Go to report button. I'm not to sure what to put under Specify a report?
If I put /Live/report2 then I get error "Could not find a part of the path 'H:\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\Report Project1\Report Project1\bin\Debug\Live\report2.rdl'."
If I put ../Live/report2 (Live and Report Project1 are at same level) then I get the same error.
If I put http://< servername >/ReportServer/Live/report2 then I get the error "The given path's format is not supported."
Can anybody put me right?
Try /Reports/Live/report2
If you specify a full path on a report server running in native mode, you must give it the path from the Home folder.
Here's a helpful link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd220423.aspx
Otherwise, you can achieve the same goal by using the go to url action. Just provide it the url to the subreport and send your parameters as part of the url.
I am getting this error while installing oracle 11g enterprise edition on windows 7 professional 64 bit. I checked the registry as some people have mention but the correct thing is already there. If try starting the service from Services.msc it says the service wss not found also
I ran into this same issue and this solved it:
When you get the error pop-up, leave it opened, open regedit and modify the ImagePath in the following key to point to the proper location:
computer\hkey_local_machine\system\controlset001\service\OracleMTSRecoveryService
The proper location may be something like this:
C:\app\myaccount\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\omtsreco.exe

The oracle download was split into two parts.
If you tried to install with only one part it will show many bugs and after installation oracle won't work.
Download two parts of oracle from the official site and extract in same place. The files will merge automatically into the same folder.
Now install the oracle. If you already installed the oracle once. It should taken some path like below.
In my system it took "E:\app\INDP\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1..."
If you are installing second time installation will take path, "E:\app\INDP\product\11.2.0\dbhome_2..."
Now the above erorr will come because of registry.
So, now yo need to edit the registry value like below.
ctrl+R will bring the run window. Type regedit and press ok
Then Under Computer, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM ->ControlSet001-> Services -> OracleMTSRecoveryService.
Double click on ImagePath. It will prompt a window with old path or with wrong path under value data.
Now, you need to edit it with your curent path like below.
E:\app\INDP\product\11.2.0\dbhome_2\bin\omtsreco.exe OracleMTSRecoveryService
Now press "retry" button of the window, which shown that error. Now, it will work like charm.
I have my installer and is working fine.
What I want to add more is that I want to show the work done by installer on installer screen (Example, installing Microsoft SQL Server 2005, we get the files being copied, moved, registry entry created,......)
Similarly I want to show this on my installer.
So can anyone help me on this to how to show all these at runtime on installer screen.
Thanks,
Sunil
Just copying my answer to the same question on wix-users list:
Use ProgressText element.
The 'Template' attribute is the place to put tokens to reflect the progress. See the standard InstallFiles action for example.
The table "ActionData messages" lists the possible tokens for this action.
Sample:
<ProgressText Action="InstallFiles" Template="File: [9][1]">!(loc.InstallFilesActionText)</ProgressText>
Outputs:
File: C:\Program Files\MyApp\bin\my.dll
etc.
Hope this helps,
