svg.selectAll("[#trk*_sldrs_r]"); regular expression correct syntax? - d3.js

I got
var t = svg.selectAll("[id^='t']");
to bring back all elements whose id starts with "t". However my
var t = svg.selectAll("[#trk*_sldrs_r]");
errors and does not bring back elements with ids of "trk1_sldrs_r" and "trk2_sldrs_r". Appreciate the correct syntax. Thanks.

Conditional XPath on multiple elements

I am trying to use xpath to set an exchange property from the value of one element, depending on what the value is in another element...
So in my case i want an xpath to identify the PartyID where the RoleCode = 60. And another xpath expression to find the PartyID for where the RoleCode = Z60.
I would have used [1] etc but the send cannot guarantee the order the segments will be in.
Help is much appreciated!
<RegisteredProductCollection>
<RegisteredProduct>
<Status>1</Status>
<AddressLine2>test</AddressLine2>
<AddressLine1>37</AddressLine1>
<RegisteredProductPartyInformation>
<RegisteredProductPartyInformation>
<PartyID>9000028253</PartyID>
<RoleCode>60</RoleCode>
</RegisteredProductPartyInformation>
<RegisteredProductPartyInformation>
<PartyID>1288219</PartyID>
<RoleCode>Z60</RoleCode>
</RegisteredProductPartyInformation>
</RegisteredProductPartyInformation>
<PostalCode>3200</PostalCode>
<Country>NZ</Country>
<ProductID>G02411</ProductID>
<SerialID>1234124124</SerialID>
<City>test</City>
<ReferenceDate>20200514000000</ReferenceDate>
<District>wai</District>
</RegisteredProduct>
</RegisteredProductCollection>
You can use these XPath-1.0 expressions:
//RegisteredProductPartyInformation[RoleCode='60']/PartyID
and
//RegisteredProductPartyInformation[RoleCode='Z60']/PartyID
Change the ' to " if necessary.

Indesign Scripting: View array's actual content (strings) in ExtendScript console

I'm a beginning learner of InDesign scripting and would like to help myself with debugging, but my attempts seem to run into walls. Hope someone has some insights that will help me going forward.
I'm working on a little project that loops through some selected tables, puts the 3 tables into an array/variable (accomplished that) and then loops through the content of those tables to find a GREP match and store those in an array/variable (for further uses I won't get into now)
My main objective at this point: See exactly what text characters the .findGrep(); function is catching and display those in the Javascript Console of the ExtendScript Toolkit app.
So here's a bit of the journey up to this point, including codes tried and suggestions from others. (All of my attempted uses of these has failed...why I'm here now... and why this is long; my apologies)
Initial try.
var myTables = []; (in Data Browser this shows values of [object Table], [object Table], [object Table]
var myFinds = [];
var myTest = [];
var myCharacters = [];
app.findGrepPreferences = null;
app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "\"";
for (x = 0; x < myTables.length; x++) {
var myFinds = myTables[x].findGrep();
$.writeln(myFinds);
};
Notes on this code: Because not every table has the characters in the findWhat, sometimes in this loop myFinds has nothing, but when it does have something, it shows this in console [object Character],[object Character],[object Character]
So someone (firstHelp) gave me this: And it did not work... error thrown on .contents.toString(); *"undefined is not an object" which I thought, "ok, yes I see at times in the loop myFinds has nothing in it... more on this later"
var stringArray = [];
for( var n=0; n<myFinds.length; n++ ) {
stringArray[n] = myFinds[n].contents.toString();
};
$.writeln(myFinds.join("\r"));
Code revamp Gave up on the $.writeln(myFinds); within the loop and tried this in order to gather Grep finds in a variable/array that could be dealt with outside of loop.
for (x = 0; x < myTables.length; x++) {
$.writeln(myTables[x].cells.firstItem().texts[0].contents[0]);
myFinds.push(myTables[x].findGrep());
};
$.writeln(myFinds);
ExtendScript Toolkit console now showing this for myFinds:
*myFinds = [Array], [object Character], [object Character], [object...
+ (object symbol) 0 =
+ (object symbol) 1 = [object Character], [object Character], [object Character]
+ (object symbol) 2 =
+ (object symbol) _proto_ =*
*again tried the .contents.toString(); on the myFinds and still the same error, "undefined..." including targeting the array when it clearly had something in it.
**So then I get this tipoff...(but no helpful code to apply to what I already have)
"you are dealing with arrays of arrays mixed with texts.
So you have to check with each item of the result array if it is text
or another array of texts.
If it is an array loop that array."
And later this bit of code that is supposed to "flatten" my array... a = [].concat.apply([],a);
Replacing a with myFinds like this, myFinds = [].concat.apply([],myFinds); did absolutely nothing. The array and its contents showed no change in the console... and I have no idea how to loop through each item of this array within an array, find out if it's text or another array and then show its real contents to console.
Really...how many loops and if/thens etc do I need to run on one array to show its actual contents in the console? But I know I struggle with breaking down every little step I want, to its minute scripting granularity and so my ignorance regularly impedes me. I welcome any suggestions/tips to move me closer to my **main objective" as stated above. Thanks
Regarding the first help. The real reason why you get an error while accessing content property is that you don’t check the type of the object and presume it will be a Text object. As the findGrep may not find a Text occurrence, you actually get an empty array. And Array.prototype.contents doesn’t exist hence the error.
Then $.writeln is legacy of Adobe ExtendScript toolkit, the IDE for ExtendScript. This product is no longer de eloped and maintained by Adobe. You should consider using other logging techniques such as the Visual Studio ExtendScript plugin which will allow you to use breakpoints and everything you need.

Problems with '._ElementUnicodeResult'

While trying to help another user out with some question, I ran into the following problem myself:
The object is to find the country of origin of a list of wines on the page. So we start with:
import requests
from lxml import etree
url = "https://www.winepeople.com.au/wines/Dry-Red/_/N-1z13zte"
res = requests.get(url)
content = res.content
res = requests.get(url)
tree = etree.fromstring(content, parser=etree.HTMLParser())
tree_struct = etree.ElementTree(tree)
Next, for reasons I'll get into in a separate question, I'm trying to compare the xpath of two elements with certain attributes. So:
wine = tree.xpath("//div[contains(#class, 'row wine-attributes')]")
country = tree.xpath("//div/text()[contains(., 'Australia')]")
So far, so good. What are we dealing with here?
type(wine),type(country)
>> (list, list)
They are both lists. Let's check the type of the first element in each list:
type(wine[0]),type(country[0])
>> (lxml.etree._Element, lxml.etree._ElementUnicodeResult)
And this is where the problem starts. Because, as mentioned, I need to find the xpath of the first elements of the wine and country lists. And when I run:
tree_struct.getpath(wine[0])
The output is, as expected:
'/html/body/div[13]/div/div/div[2]/div[6]/div[1]/div/div/div[2]/div[2]'
But with the other:
tree_struct.getpath(country[0])
The output is:
TypeError: Argument 'element' has incorrect type (expected
lxml.etree._Element, got lxml.etree._ElementUnicodeResult)
I couldn't find much information about _ElementUnicodeResult), so what is it? And, more importantly, how do I fix the code so that I get an xpath for that node?
You're selecting a text() node instead of an element node. This is why you end up with a lxml.etree._ElementUnicodeResult type instead of a lxml.etree._Element type.
Try changing your xpath to the following in order to select the div element instead of the text() child node of div...
country = tree.xpath("//div[contains(., 'Australia')]")

linq expression for string array always results in "The name 'result' does not exist in the current context"

I'm trying to get certain keys from the Request.Form.AllKeys string array by using the following:
var result = keys.Where(key => key.StartsWith("added"));
The result is "The name 'result' does not exist in the current context" no matter what I do.
I've also tried:
var result = (from keys in Request.Form.AllKeys
where keys.StartsWith("added")
select keys).ToArray();
Same thing.
I'm new to Linq and Lambda expressions and all, so please forgive the ignorance.
Regards,
Jacques
I found the answer to my question: Delayed execution.
When I actually executed the code and then followed it up by using result.Any() the expression was executed and turned out the correct results.

How to click on an AutoCompleteExtender with Watin

For my acceptance testing I'm writing text into the auto complete extender and I need to click on the populated list.
In order to populate the list I have to use AppendText instead of TypeText, otherwise the textbox looses focus before the list is populated.
Now my problem is when I try to click on the populated list. I've tried searching the UL element and clicking on it; but it's not firing the click event on the list.
Then I tried to search the list by tagname and value:
Element element = Browser.Element(Find.By("tagname", "li") && Find.ByValue("lookupString"));
but it's not finding it, has anyone been able to do what I'm trying to do?
The shorter version of that is:
string lookupString = "string in list";
Element list = Browser.Element("li", Find.ByText(new Regex(lookupString)));
list.MouseDown();
Regexs will do a partial match so you don't need to specify .* either side and use string.Format. This assumes however that the lookupString doesn't contain any characters special to Regexs, they'd need to be escaped.
In case someone has the same problem. It works with the next code:
string lookupString = "string in list";
Regex lookup = new Regex(string.Format(".*{0}.*", lookupString));
Element list = Browser.Element("li", Find.ByText(lookup));
list.MouseDown();
