Install specific old version of Xamarin.Android - xamarin

TL;DR Is there a way to find the specific Xamarin.Android download link for a specific version mentioned in the release notes?
I would like to patch an app that was build using Xamarin.Android v4.20.0.34 so I need to downgrade my toolset (In future I'll take a snapshot of my build agent VM)
I can find the 4.20 release notes but the downloads referred to in the KB article How do I downgrade to an older version of Xamarin? are all version 3.11.xxxx:
I think that when I had this issue before, based on the stack answer to Downgrade Xamarin.Android I managed to guess the URL for the download I required.
Is there a way to find the specific Xamarin.Android download for a specific version mentioned in the release notes?
Edit
Is there an unofficial list?

We (Xamarin) do not list the unsupported versions of Xamarin tools in the store page.
However, you can email hello#xamarin.com or support email to get installers for old versions

Please use the below url to download specific versions of Xamarin Android.

How to use an older version of Xamarin.iOS with Visual Studio Mac?

Hi i mistakenly upgraded Visual Studio for Mac to 8.5.2 (build 13) which has Xamarin.iOS Version: 13.16.0.13 (Visual Studio Community).
Turns out this doesn't work with XCode 11.3.1 and needs XCode 11.4, which means I will need to upgrade the OS from Mojave to Catalina; i'm not ready to upgrade the OS just yet..
I have tried searching on the Microsoft website, but cant see any obvious links to downgrade or select a different Xamarin.iOS version
How can i roll back the Xamarin.iOS to a version that is compatible with XCode 11.3?
To use an older version of Xamarin.iOS you need to download it from a link.
It's very difficult to answer this question, because the answer need a link..
And Link-only answers can become invalid if the linked page changes...
So, First you need to find the version number of your wanted Xamarin.iOS.
Here you can see all release Version tags from the official
xamarin github repository.
https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/tags
Then you need to found the Microsoft official patern link from their official download .pkg repository used by Visual Studio.
The official Microsoft pkg repository : https://aka.ms/xvs/pkg
The patern link : https://aka.ms/xvs/pkg/<framework>/<version>.
Finally, you need to create your own link regardless you framework and version
Example:
Xamarin.iOS: https://aka.ms/xvs/pkg/macios/15.4.0.0
But you need to found out your own link by your self.
You can also try from the github

Xamarin Android target version

I am receiving the error message below when trying to release a Xamarin Android app on the Play Developer Console
Upload failed
Your app currently targets API level 26 and must target
at least API level 28 to ensure that it is built on the latest APIs
optimised for security and performance. Change your app's target API
level to at least 28. Find out how.
I have the following settings in VS for Mac
Also, all of the Xamarin.Android libraries that I am using are v28.0.0.3.
It must be an issue with your Android support libraries or the version. Can you ensure the below and try to publish it with a new version?
Ensure the latest SDK (API level 28) is installed in your Android SDK Manager
Ensure you have the latest Android Support libraries and Build tools installed.
Set your Android Target version to API level 28 and Minimum Android version to something lesser than that.
Following points you should note:
When Google play talks about target Android version it is talking about the Target Framework in your Android Project Properties.
The error message that you are getting has nothing to do with what version of support libraries that you have. But when you target the latest version you might want to have the support libraries of the same version.
Adding all the SDK's that your Android app is going to support is recommended which means if you Min Android support version is 21 per se and you want to target the latest version then make sure that your Android SDK has all these sdks's so that there are no issues while parsing your APK in the desired version.
I wouldn't recommend that your min Android version is set to version 9 because of the fact 90% of the devices do not have this version of SDK which means none of them will be able to install or use your APP. Which if you ask me should never be the case. Supporting the widest possible audience is always the best call.
After making the above changes your app should work fine. Feel free to get back to me if you have any questions or queries...

Need lower version of visual studio for mac

I just want to download a lower version of Visual Studio for Mac. The current version is 7.5.1 and I want to download 7.4.3.
Can anyone tell me where can I get that download file or link?
From some guesswork I found it by using this URL :
https://dl.xamarin.com/VsMac/VisualStudioForMac-7.4.2.12.dmg
Not installed it tho.
From this, comment on the 9th May link seems like you have to open a support ticket?!?!
As an update on this topic, all of the recent previous Xamarin.iOS,
Xamarin.Android, and Xamarin.Mac packages are available in the
archives on the open source continuous builds server (under the
Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.MaciOS tabs). And the Mono Framework MDK
is similarly available in the Mono Project download archive. I have
now updated the 15.7 Release Xamarin Release Blog post to provide the
links to those locations. In many cases, the latest version of Visual
Studio for Mac will be backwards compatible with previous versions of
the Xamarin SDKs, so you can in many cases just install those earlier
Xamarin SDK versions over the current versions and leave Visual Studio
for Mac and Mono Framework MDK at the latest.
If you do need to get an older version of Visual Studio for Mac
itself, the best option at this time is still to create a support
incident to request the version you'd like. The updated info for
creating a Visual Studio for Mac support incident is to go to
Technical Support > Product: Visual Studio > Assisted Support on
https://www.visualstudio.com/vs/support/ and then select Visual Studio
Community/Professional/Enterprise 2017 for Mac.
I used to download previous releases from my Xamarin account page
which now doesn't seem to exist anymore.
At the moment, the direct link to the old downloads page
(https://store.xamarin.com/account/my/subscription/downloads) is not
yet set to redirect, so it is still possible to access that page, but
indeed that page is considered deprecated in favor of the open source
continuous builds archive at this time, and the previous versions
provided on that page are from the earlier Xamarin 15.5 Release rather
than the Xamarin 15.6 Release.

MvvmCross Community Plugin for Sqlite with Unified API

I've recently taken a client with an existing app using MvvmCross and the Community.Plugins.Sqlite. It looks like the old 3.1.1 version is all that is in nuget, which supports the classic ios api. Is there a version anywhere for the unified api?
Wally
The Community code supports iOS unified but you have to download the latest source and compile. We are debating whether or not to just swap out Sqlite-net for one of the PCL options.

Xamarin: Unable to add HotTuna.StarterPack

I am trying to install the MVVMCross.HotTuna.StarterPack on my Xamarin (Mac) Solution using the NuGet, but i ain't successful. The package was installed in the Xamarin.Android project successfully but while i try the same to do with the iOS and PCL project, it doesn't add. Any Idea on whats going wrong? Thanks!
That nuget package requires nuget 2.5 which isn't yet finished/released for Xamarin Studio - track https://github.com/mrward/monodevelop-nuget-addin/issues/13 for updates
It will also probably require fixes from Xamarin - they've not yet released PCL support, but it is in development. You can ask their forum and/or support for updates on this.
In the meantime:
you can develop for MvvmCross using VS on the PC - see http://mvvmcross.wordpress.com/
you can develop using binaries (not nuget) on the Mac - see http://slodge.blogspot.com/2013/05/xamarin-studio-quick-run-through-for.html
For Xamarin.Mac/MonoMac support, there's no PCL support currently available - so the only way to get this working currently is to fork the MvvmCross solution and to compile the PCL libraries for the appropriate Mac project.
