Restart SonarQube Server remotely - sonarqube

I implemented SonarQube on the server, and I do most of the configurations remotly. Hence whenever a plugin is installed, a restart of SonarQube is required and every time I have to explicitly (manually) restart the SonarQube server.
Is there a way to restart SonarQube remotely?
For example, like jenkins through http://sonar_url/restart.

Since SonarQube 5.4, you can restart it directly from the UI (Administrators should be able to request a server restart from web console) or using the WS /api/system/restart (WS /api/system/restart should trigger a true restart of SQ).

Available only on development mode (sonar.web.dev=true).

In my SonarQube instance (v5.6), I use the below curl command to restart SonarQube server

how to restart teamcity server

I am a beginner to teamcity. Our Teamcity 9 server stopped working after I installed Gradle. I doubt that it was problem with port or something like that. I removed Gradle but Teamcity didn't work. So I tried to restart Teamcity server. We have two teamcity agents. I stopped agents with:
sudo ./runAll.sh stop
and I stopped the server with sudo ./shutdwon.sh
after that I started server again with ./startup.sh and agents with
sudo ./runAll.sh start
Now when I am writing url address in browser I am getting either connection_timout or connection refused But when I am writing url with explicit IP address like 10.31.24.18:8111 then I am getting
My questions:
1- How can I restart Teamcity and agents so that I am getting same agents and project as before restart in TeamCity UI? Or If I am creating Administrator account now after that I should reconfigure all projects or my projects before restart will be there?
2- Why URL with IP-address is working but URL with domain name server name is not working?
You can restart TeamCity right from the UI: Administration > Diagnostics > Server Restart. You will need to have server admin permissions for that.
using command line
cd /opt/teamcity/bin
(sudo) ./teamcity-server.sh stop

SolrCore is loading running as Windows Service

Logged into Windows Server 2016 as Administrator, I can run Solr from the command line: bin\solr.cmd start -p 8983 -f
I have configured a Solr to run as a Windows Service - running as the same user, with the same command, same startup directory, etc. - however under load, the following error comes back from the upstream application (Sitecore xConnect, though this shouldn't make a difference)

To reiterate, everything works fine when Solr is started from the command line, only when it's run as a Windows Service does it error.
Solr version: 6.6.3
Windows version: Server 2016
Environment: AWS (m5.large EC2 instance)
Sitecore compatibility table says to use Solr 6.6.1 with Sitecore, You should still use 6.6.2 as it fixes a bug in Solr 6.6.1 that can affect the installation of SIF. Read here
I recommend you try again with Solr 6.6.2
It turns out that the service was configured to run without the -f flag. So the process would continually stop and re-spawn.

Jenkins build project "Unable to access to repository"

I am a complete Jenkins noob so if I have missed something completely obvious I apologise in advance!
I am building an intranet web application using Visual Studio 2010 and commit changes using AnkhSVN to a repository stored on a server that is running Visual SVN Server.
Due to budget restrictions this server is also acting as our web server and also running Jenkins. It is connected to our internal network but doesn't have external internet access so I have had to manually install Jenkins plugins and dependencies.
I am trying to build a Jenkins project that would build the web application when it detects a commit but when I enter the repository URL and the user credentials in the source code management window I get the following error message:
Unable to access to repository
However when I enter the url in a browser and enter the same credentials I can access the repository without any errors.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

check if the ip of jenkins server can access the svn ip server....i have the same problem and i found that my ci server can not access the svn server .using ping command
That actually might be okay. For some reason I see similar error message (could be a bug in Jenkins frontend) when edit SCM details for a job in Jenkins, but it does work flawlessly if I actually save and run the job.
Give it a try it might actually work during the build time.

Unable to debug tomcat server using eclipse

I'm using:
Spring Tool Suite Version: 3.2.0.RELEASE
Tomcat v7.0.42
When I just run my tomcat server everything is fine but I'm unable to debug it even locally. It produces following error:
Startich Apache Tomcat v7.0.42 at localhost has encoutered a problem.
Server Apache Tomcat v7.0.42 bat localhost was unable to start within 45 seconds. If the server requires more time, try increasing the timeout in the server editor.
I've tried the following:
increase the timeout.
remove all the apps before starting the debugging.
install new instance of tomcat (the only configuration that I've did on fresh install is turning on Use Tomcat installation and Never publish automatically).
But it didn't help, I still can only run the tomcat, without the debug option. Does anyone know how to make this debugging work?
When I've used new, clear workspace for Spring Tool Suite, debugging started to work.

Jenkins : Selenium GUI tests are not visible on Windows

When I run my selenium test (mvn test) from jenkins (windows) I see only the console output. I don't see the real browsers getting opened . How can I configure jenkins so that I can see the browsers running the test?
I had the same problem, i got the solution after many attempts.
This solution works ONLY on windows XP
If you are using jenkins as a windows service you need to do the following :
1) In windows service select the service of jenkins
2) Open properties window of the service -> Logon-> enable the checkbox "Allow service to interact with desktop"
After then you should reboot the service jenkins

UPDATE:
Actually, I'm working on a an automation tool using Selenium on Windows 10, I've installed Jenkins ver. 2.207 as windows application (EXE file), it's running as windows service and ALL drivers (Chrome, FireFox, IE) are visible during test executions WITHOUT performing a mere configuration on the System or Jenkins
I got the solution. I ran jenkins from command prompt as "java -jar jenkins.war" instead of the windows installer version. Now I can see my browser based tests being executed.
If you are already doing what #Sachin suggests in a comment (i.e. looking at the machine where Jenkins actually runs) and still do not see the browsers, then your problem may be the following:
If you run Jenkins as a service in the background it won't open apps in the foreground. You may either try to run it not as a service in the foreground, or run it as a Local System account and check Allow the service to interact with desktop option. In the latter case you may get into permission problems, though.
Update: To make sure this answer is understood properly by others: Jenkins Windows 'native' installation is not really native. It's a wrapper around Java that runs it as a service.
To interact with desktop GUI, you should launch slave agent via JNLP:

After adding the node in Jenkins (configured as Java Web Start launch), just make a startup batch script on the node machine:

In the case of Windows 7 you should not install jenkins as windows application (because in this recent version, Microsoft decided to give services their own hidden desktop even you enable the functionality "interact with desktop" in jenkins service), you may have to deploy it from a war file as follows:
1) Download jenkins.war from Jenkins official site
2) Deploy it by the command prompt : java -jar {directoryOfJenkinsFile}/jenkins.war
3) Now you can access jenkins administration on http:// localhost:8080

this is an issue for Jenkins. on Windows it is possible to access logon user's session (screen) under system account. to make the UI testing visible, Jenkins needs to bypass UAC (user access
control) at background. this solution works for me with my own service running as system account.
I also faced the same issue earlier in my local machine (Windows 10).
My test was running perfectly from the NetBeans but when I moved to Jenkins it was only running in console mode. I was unable to view the UI.
So for that, you just need to make your local machine as a Jenkins slave by creating a new slave node in your Jenkins and select that node to execute the Jenkins job.
If jenkins installed by windows installer it is showing only Console out put only. To see browsers download jenkins.war file and run java -jar jenkins.war from command line.

You are able to login to the remote machine
You don't see the Jenkins agent window
This slave machine is accessed by many users then try the following,
then try the following suggestion.
Login to slave machine
Go to Task manager
Users
Logout all the users
Then login again.
This worked for me.
