Pycharm install fail with "Invalid Log Path" - macos

I downloaded a Pycharm community mac OSX version. But after installation, each time I try to open it. It gives me this error. I can't find any information about this error after I google the error.
Thank you.

OK. It turn out be a permission problem. Just chmod 777 the directory(mkdir before). Then this problem is solved

Start --> Search "idea.log". In this file change the path.

XAMPP doesn't work after update to macOS Big Sur

Today I updated my mac to macOS Big Sur and I can't open XAMPP. When I click on app it doesn't give any response.
Do you know how solve this problem?
You can do a clean installation, but you will lose all your old files and databases. I suggest making a backup of this data.
Uninstall old versions of xampp.
Installation of Xampp by the brew
brew install --cask xampp
If you don't have the brew installed
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
HomeBrew
After Big Sur installation if XAMPP is not opening, get newest version of XAMPP (7.4.12) from their web site.
If you end up with error "Error starting “XAMPP” stack: cannot calculate MAC address: signal killed". After installing the latest version, do following:
Go to terminal ->
cd ~/.bitnami/stackman/helpers
Mv hyperkit hyperkit_backup
After that XAMPP opens and tells its the first time opening, but at least I found all the files etc as before Big Sur upgrade.
Install XAMPP 7.4.12, works perfectly in MacOS Big Sur
I had Xampp 7.4.9 and update Mac OS to Big Sur. Xampp didn't want to launch after that. I lost access to all my projects inside of /htdocs folder hidden somewhere in path structure of my virtual machine.
Kindly note I used version 7.4.9-VM (not 7.4.9-Installer) that is why all my files blocked inside of
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp/vm/machine.qcow2
Actually all files are important here:
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp
not only machine.qcow2
My solution is kind a mix of before mentioned solutions because they didn’t help in full.
First of all make a backup - copy old structure (with blocked files) to some directory - all this structure:
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp
(To see hidden files in MacOS use [Command]+[Shift]+[.])
You also can just rename
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/
to something like
/Users/'your_user_name'/.my_blocked_files_bitnami/
As programmers here advised to install 7.4.12-VM I installed this version. Very important to install "Virtual Machine" version (as you can see there are 2 installers for each version of Xampp)
Right after I launched 7.4.12-VM the new directory was created here:
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/
and Xampp will work properly but with no your old projects.
Do not do this step: As programmers here advised to change only one file
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp/vm/machine.qcow2
for me it was not enough - Xampp failed with an error:
ERROR: Error starting "XAMPP" stack: cannot start stack: ssh not accessible
My solution was put whole structure from folder xampp
/Users/'your_user_name'/.my_blocked_files_bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp
to here:
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp
You may before rename your current folder
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp
to something like
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/new_xampp_without_my_projects
Then launch Xampp (Xampp should say something about incopatible versions but allows to continue), start all services, mount the disk. press "Expore" and you should see all your old projects.
Thank you.
You can solve this problem by updating xampp ver 7.2.34 .

Same thing happened to me but the version 7.4.12 seems to be working. I download it from the link I'll but below. I've been reading and the problem seems to be that Big Sur changes some paths that are set by default and so the apps won't launch. Same thing happened to Apache NetBeans.
XAMPP Download Link:
I had the same problem. This is how I solved it:
First, be sure that you back up your files in XAMPP VM. Your files are in
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp/vm/machine.qcow2
Then you can reinstall XAMPP again. I have installed 7.4.12 and it worked fine.
If you see stack error message, this is what you have to do:
Close XAMPP
Open a terminal and remove the stack folder with the following code:
rm -rf ~/.bitnami/stackman
Open XAMPP and check if a new stackman folder is created.
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/
If it does not, then start XAPP and stop again. When the stackman folder is created, override the file below with your backup file.
/Users/'your_user_name'/.bitnami/stackman/machines/xampp/vm/machine.qcow2
Close XAMPP again and restart again.
Voila! Here are your files...
I tried reinstalling XAMPP on MACos Big Sur, and it worked. However, my files are not recovered.
you can type this code in terminal
before this code you should close xampp
rm -rf ~/.bitnami/stackman
if you are getting error message saying:
Cannot calculate MAC Address: Using fd 10 for I/O notifications hv_vm_create HV_ERROR (unspecified error)
you need to download new hyperkit from bitnami and replace the current one
cd /tmp
curl -LJO "https://downloads.bitnami.com/files/hyperkit/hyperkit-testing-`20210430"`
mv /tmp/hyperkit-testing-20210430 ~/.bitnami/stackman/helpers/hyperkit
chmod +x ~/.bitnami/stackman/helpers/hyperkit

Permission denied when trying to run karaf 0.8.1

I downloaded the OpenDaylight Oxygen SR1 Zip file, unzipped the karaf-0.8.1 file, changed my directory to it but when I try to run ./bin/karaf I get:
./bin/karaf: Permission denied
When I try sudo ./bin/karaf I get
sudo: ./bin/karaf: command not found
The weirdest part is that I also have the folder of the previous version, i.e. karaf-0.7.1, in the same Downloads folder and these commands work perfectly fine in there. I would like to use the latest version however. Could anyone help me please?
Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention I'm running it on Mac OS X
On a Unix-like system, you’re better off downloading the tarball: extracting that will give you files with the correct permissions.
In your case, to fix your setup, you need to run
chmod 755 bin/{client,inc,instance,karaf,setenv,set_persistence.sh,shell,start,status,stop}
to restore the permissions as they ship in the tarball.

.local/share/autojump/autojump_errors: No such file or directory

I've got autojump installed but, after upgrading homebrew, every time I issue a shell command (e.g. ls) I now get this:
-bash: /Users/snowcrash/.local/share/autojump/autojump_errors: No such file or directory
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I believe this used to be an issue but according to this GitHub Issue it should be fixed.
Otherwise I recommend you quit your current terminal application and restart. It took that for mine to stop throwing the error after I upgraded.

Mac Terminal Command not Found

I've been using my mac and I realized that some basic commands seem to be missing. I have tried commands including : ping, traceroute, reboot, halt
and they all show
-bash: [SomeCommand]: Command not found
I have installed Xcode and the CommandLineTools package as well. Can somebody help me resolve this problem? Thank you!
Below are some informations of my terminal:
HenrydeMacBook-Air:~ bumpwymac$ $PATH
-bash: /opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/Applications/XCrySDen-1.5.24-bin-semishared:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/opt/X11/bin:/usr/texbin:/Applications/XCrySDen-1.5.24-bin-semishared/scripts:/Applications/XCrySDen-1.5.24-bin-semishared/util: No such file or directory
Thank you!
ping , halt and reboot are all in /sbin. I think your PATH lacks of "/sbin". Here are mine :
/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin:/usr/local/go/bi‌n:.:/Users/frank/work/bin/:/Users/frank/work/bin/:/usr/local/go/bin:

Insecure world writable dir /Users/username in PATH, mode 040777 when running Ruby commands

When I run Ruby commands like gem -v I get this error:
/Users/kristoffer/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.2-p180/bin/gem:4:
warning: Insecure world writable dir
/Users/kristoffer in PATH, mode 040777
1.6.2
First of all I don't understand what this means. /Users/kristoffer is not in my path according to echo $PATH. The result of echo $PATH is:
/Users/kristoffer/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.2-p180/bin:/Users/kristoffer/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.2-p180#global/bin:/Users/kristoffer/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.2-p180/bin:/Users/kristoffer/.rvm/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin
As you can see, the PATH is pretty clean. Just the default path + what RVM added.
I've seen the other posts similar to this where the recommended way to solve the issue is to run chmod go-w path/to/folder
However, I'm pretty sure that it's a bad idea to make my Home folder non-writeable, right? I've repaired permissions using Disk Utility and it didn't find anything wrong with the permissions on my Home folder.
Any idea of what the problem is and how I can fix it?
Your home folder should only be writable by you, not by anyone else. The reason gem is complaining about this is that you have folders in your PATH that are inside your (insecure) home folder, and that means that anyone who wants to could hack you by renaming/moving your .rvm folder and replacing it with an impostor.
To fix your home folder, run chmod go-w /Users/kristoffer. If there are any other insecure folders on the way to anything in your PATH, you should fix them similarly.
BTW, the reason that Disk Utility didn't repair this is that it only repairs files installed as part of the OS (see Apple's KB article on the subject). There is an option to repair home folder permissions if you boot from the install DVD and run Password Reset from the Utilities menu, but I'm not sure if it resets the permissions themselves or just ownership.
I kept getting this in my prompt.
I couldn't get it quite right with my command prompt but this ended up working.
Recently this just happened to me and it has to do with a bug in upgrading to Mac OSX 10.9.3. Looks like the upgrade changes the permissons to the User folder. Here's an explanation and a fix:
http://derflounder.wordpress.com/2014/05/16/users-folder-being-hidden-with-itunes-11-2-installed-and-find-my-mac-enabled/
chmod 755 /Users/<username>
Should fix the problem...
it says that the directory Users/username is insecure, you can fix that by running
sudo chmod go-w Users/username
I found a solution. Like user2952657, I got this warning with vagrant up after upgrading to OSX 10.9.3. Updating iTunes to 11.2.1 was all I needed to do to get the warning to stop.
