I want to create a html page with a lot of questions and answers
The display for this html page must be like this:
+ question one
+ question two
+ question three
clicking to + of the question one appears the answer one and so on
Can I also do this in wordpress content
You can use bullet pointe in html.
<body>
<ul>
<li>Your text</li>
</ul>
</body>
If you want to make a quiz you will need to use javascript though. Html is only for web design and stuff. You can’t do much with html alone.

SO contributors. I am fully aware of the following question How to obtain href values from a div using xpath?, which basically deals with one part of my problem yet for some reason the solution posted there does not work in my case, so I would kindly ask for help in resolving two related issues. In the example below, I would like to get the href value of the "more" hyperlink (http://www.thestraddler.com/201715/piece2.php), which is under the div tag with content class.
<div class="content">
<h3>Against the Renting of Persons: A conversation with David Ellerman</h3>
[1]
</p>
<p>More here.</p>
</div>
In theory I should be able to extract the links under a div tag with
xidel website -e //div[#class="content"]//a/#href
but for some reason it does not work. How can I resolve this and (2nd part) how can I extract the href value of only the "here" hyperlink?
Not even sure I labeled this correctly, I am in the process of converting a site to Umbraco, and there are sections of the site that needs to be edited using the CMS tools in the back end, basically it is a grid with pictures and description text
Here is a sample of the HTML
<div class="hi-icon-effect-1 hi-icon-effect-1a">
<a class="hi-icon">
<img class="img-responsive " id="ImgSales" src="../../Images/sales_icon_circle_grey.png" alt="">
</a>
<p style="padding-left:5px;" id="lblSales" class="">Sales</p>
</div>
What I would like to be able to do is go to the content section of the admin and edit the list of items and configure the image and text for each item.
http://www2.strikemedia.co.za/
If you view the above link and scroll down there will be a grid of items (services) and it is this list that I want to be able to generate.
I am comfortable with all the technologies used in Umbraco, I just do not know the system well enough to do these kinds of modifications, can someone please assist or point me to the resources that will help me build this.
Thanks
You should take a look at the Archetype package: https://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/archetype/
As far as I understand your question you are looking for a way to add X amount of similar items to the contents of a page - for this, Archetype is probably perfect :-)
Once you have your list of items added inside Umbraco, look here: https://github.com/kgiszewski/ArchetypeManual/blob/master/03%20-%20Template%20Usage.md
Use case #1 in this example will allow you to iterate through items and output it with whatever "template" you want (aka the HTML sample you provided).
I'm working on a news publishing site that needs to load in stories from an RSS feed below the current news page. I've been using InfiniteAjaxScroll (http://infiniteajaxscroll.com/) to some success however, I've hit a brick wall. There is not way for me to dynamically change what story should load in next as you scroll down the page.
Does anyone know of any other plugins, tutorials, examples that replicate behavior like this. I've searched but come up with nothing that meets these requirements.
I'm trying to create something similar to what the Daily Beast has implemented on their site.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/11/05/inside-the-democrats-godawful-midterm-election-wipeout.html
How do they know what stories to load in?
Thanks!
If you're using the InfiniteAjaxScroll library, the "next story" is whatever link you define as the next URL which can be dynamic for each story you load.
Imagine your first story's HTML as something like this
<div class="stories">
<div class="story">
...
</div>
</div>
<div id="pagination">
next
</div>
Then in the storyC.html you have
...
<div id="pagination">
next
</div>
Assuming you're using some sort of dynamic backend, you would use some sort logic to grab a related story and just set that URL as the "next" URL.
I have a MVC 3 project and I enable the HTML 5 markup. For the HTML 5 part, it is running fine.
Now I created a partial view and copy and paste some code into it
The first line is
<div id="Header">
I want to use this partial view in my view which is html 4 markup.
The problem comes, the razor engine automatically convert my
<div id="Header">
into
<Header>
I don't want to use HTML 5 for this view but only HTML 4. What should I do?
If you change the div as follows, it won't get swapped out:
<div id="strap">
Which may solve your immediate problem.
why do you want to covert back to:
<div id="Header">
where is the way to go in the future?
If you worried about the compatibility with the older browser, you can simply implement modernizr-2.6.2.js. (which should come with the Visual Studio web projects)
This will make all the basic HTML5 works in older browser.
(tho haven't tested with browser older than IE6)
you could always use a class instead of an id
<div class="header">
this has the added advantage of not making your css (if any) for this element very specific, and also means that the ID cannot be reused.
you can still select your element using jQuery selector using it's class as the selector
$('.header')
question for you: Did you created the Html 4 partial view in Html 5 view? ; If your answer is yes, the problem you mentioned is occurring naturally. When MVC renders your page, he first renders the Html 5 part(the layout master page). As a result, Html5 type doc type will be chosen by default. After that when the Html 4 partial view is rendered, the engine renders it under a mark up support for Html 5.
if i want to summarize what i wanted to say:
<html>
//Html 4 partial view.
</html>
This will make a Html 5 markup view no matter what Html4 code you wrote in that partial view. If i am wrong, let me know. I will learn from my mistakes. thanks.
Can you please use Transitional doctype on the top of your partial view page. Because HTML engine understand the page according to doctype.
I've got a simple one but haven't been able to find an example of a solution that fits exactly what I'm asking. Sorry in advance if this is a repeat.
From my navigation menu, I want each link to reference a specific DIV in a separate page and then pull that DIV and replace the content in the current page.
<ul>
<li>About</li>
<li>Contact</li>
..and so on
</ul>
Elsewhere in the page:
<div id="displayContent">Content refreshes onClick. Previous content fades out, fresh content fades in.</div>
Separate page (content.php):
<div id="about">About content</div>
<div id="contact">Contact content</div>
Agree with brhea, a question is a bit unclear.
If I understood well you're looking for something like this?
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/ajaxcontent.htm
(click car names to see it in action)
OR with jQuery like this:
