I need Visual Studio 2015 Community edition without the update 1, but I can't find it anywhere. Been searching Microsofts pages but all downloads just points to the latest version which includes update 1 (and I want the older tools included before the update 1 came).
Can anyone help?
In answering another question, #BoltClock explains that you can uninstall individual updates via the View Installed Updates window in the Control Panel.
You can install VS with the update and then try uninstalling the update via the Control Panel. I don't know that it will work, so if it does, come back and comment. ;)
Here it is. I found this on microsoft download website.
Detail
Name : VS 2015'without update'.iso
Size : 3.7 GB
Download link :
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48146
If update 3 is already installed into the machine, needs to uninstall it from control panel -> View installed updates.
Fresh installation without any update can be done by steps in following URL.

I have Visual Studio Ultimate/Enterprise installed from a previous engagement. I've now started at a new place who only have licenses form VS Professional. So I need to downgrade but the supported route involves full uninstall and full reinstall which is obviously rather time consuming.
Are there any "clever" (probably unsupported) ways to do the downgrade?
It is not possible to downgrade an installation, as they are different products and can exist side by side. The components downloaded and installed for each product are different.
If you had previously installed VS Pro, as I had, you might be able to go to "Add/Remove Programs" and select "Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise with Updates." Modify->Uninstall worked perfectly for me. Be sure to backup any settings, as some of mine got reset. My extensions stayed the same, though. To be clear, I had VS Pro first, and I installed Enterprise Evaluation side-by-side with it.
I'm in a similar situation, unfortunately there's no supported option besides the uninstall/reinstall route you've already mentioned. You could probably save some time by backing up all your extensions and settings etc. The processes outlined below might be different for more recent versions but I think the process would be similar
Backup and restore settings
Backup and restore extensions
Edit:
This is pretty weird, I'm starting to think that perhaps Drunken Code Monkey's solution is more accurate than I initially thought. I was expecting to have to follow the same process as Schneider described (uninstall / full reinstall), but as soon as the uninstall of VS Enterprise finished, I was able to open VS Pro as normal.
Edit 2:
Turns out it was not as normal, a bunch of things didn't work (creating ASP.NET MVC projects) and I had to do a repair. Not quite as bad as a full reinstall, fortunately.
Just had to do this. You must first uninstall the enterprise edition. Visual Stuido Installer will complete the uninstall and when it's finished will prompt if you'd like to install a different version, such as Community.
Down Grade visual studio from enterprise to Professional
we can download separate professional version of Visual studio EXE.
Professional and enterprise run side by side in our machine but need separate 2 license for those 2.
if you want to downgrade you visual studio from Enterprise to professional just need to install EXe using below link

I hope this helps
Found an answer here. You can download the installer from http://my.visualstudio.com and run it with custom command line arguments. To install update 1, it would be vs_enterprise.exe /OverrideFeedURI http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/2/A/32A1974F-D236-43C1-8981-97DDCBAEF14A/20160225.3/enu/feed.xml.
You should see a notification for VS update 1 in the top right corner of the IDE. It looks like this:
Click this and select VS Update 1.
If you don't see it in the notification center, then go to Tools -> Extensions and Updates and click on the Updates tab. You should see an item for VS Update 1 in the list.
if you have a need to install update 1, without installing update 2.
Download the offline installer, which is a ISO file of about 4 GB.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/C/1/4C113E0D-8590-47AB-B7B8-E41E0AD7936D/vs2015.1.vsu.iso
Open the iso and following folder
ServicedSetupPayloads\OfflineCache\installers\VSU_14.0.24720\en\0
There you can get the update 1 setup.
You downloaded Update 2 RC.
The correct link to download Visual Studio 2015 Update 1 is here: https://www.visualstudio.com/news/vs2015-update1-vs
Sorry for dupplicate.
I installed VS 2013 with Update 3 on disk E. By using a software, I merged disk D and E to one partition. And the data was lost.
But, i restarted my pc, i could still uninstalled some software. VS 2013 is not one of them.
VS said that it needs a source to complete. I can't provide it. Nothing in disk E, it includes VS 2013 source.
After that. I linked to visualstudio.com and download new version. It's VS 2013 with Update 4.
I downloaded iso file, and burned to my usb.
When running as administrator, it shows me 1 error and many warning. Like this:
The form specified for the subject is not one supported or known by the specified trust provider.
The installer was stopped.
I had referenced many relate, some ideas are:
-- Uninstall VS 2013 Update 3. Restart and try to install VS Update 4. I can't do this.
-- Read this link: Visual Studio 2013 Setup: common issues and workarounds. I read and... still didn't see any solution to solve my trouble. The installer didn't tell me "Why" or give me any error code about the problem.
So, my problem is:
I have VS 2013 with Update 3 on my system, and the source was lost. I can't uninstall it.
I want to install new VS 2013 with Update 4 within Update 3. But I don't know how to do that.
Can you give me any solution?
Thanks so much!
I don't understand what is meant by "I want to install new VS 2013 with Update 4 within Update 3". However, I can provide you the steps to uninstall an update of VS 2013.
Go to Control Panel->Programs->Programs and Features.
Now on the left you will see View installed updates on the top left of the side bar as shown below.
Now under VS 2013, you should be able to see all the updates. Right click an update and click Uninstall.
Good Luck!
As downloadable here but to be an online installtion process.
I'm looking to ways to download the package offline and/or the standalone .iso installation file - similarly to how we can do with Visual Studio 2012 updates here.
How can I do that?
ps.
A google search give me nowhere helpful at this time.
In brief the answer is this download link.
As I have met this question many times for Visual Studio versions, I note down here the full process to access them all from A to Z.
Google search for visual studio updates as here
Go for links from visualstudio.com as here
Search for updates on the page - pick up the search result Overview of Visual Studio 2013 updates‎ which lists all latest Visual Studio updates.
Choose the version to open the download page.
Look for Installation Instruction section, SCROLL DOWN below to the part that says Download the ISO image directly
Enjoy your .iso - it's done here.
Google search
Go down for .iso downloading
I found one way to do this via this article by storing the downloaded files. Though not a way to have iso file though.
VS 2013 Update 2 offline ISO - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=393220
VS 2013 Update 3 offline ISO - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=403041
For more current releases/updates (e.g. MSVC 2013 update 4 etc.) Microsoft recommends adding the '/layout' option when running the online installer from the command prompt:
<executable name> /layout
This command downloads all the packages for the installation, which makes it possible to install them offline thereafter.
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=519391
that's it ! the update 5 direct Link .. it's 6GB ISO
I got this link for update 3 from Xinystudio:
Visual Studio 2013 update 3 offline iso
I know the OP is asking for update 2 but I thought this may present a better alternative.
If you have a number of people in your team that will need the udpate, it is a good idea to get someone to download the file to a local share and then share the location with yours team, as this file takes quite a while to download normally, and you are not able to use Visual Studio while the download has started.
One other way to do this is to go to the "Overview of Visual Studio 2013 updates" page (link below) and download the latest VS update.
"Overview of Visual Studio 2013 updates" - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2829760.
On this page click on "Download the latest Visual Studio 2013 update package now" and you will be redirected to the VS update page, where you will be able to download the file.
VS 2013 Update 5 direct link:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=48129
So if you have downloaded the file to C:\downloads, go to the command prompt and navigate to C:\downloads (or shift + right-click on the folder, then selecting "open command window here" .
Once you are in this folder, type the following command:
VS2013.5.exe /layout
This should bring up the Visual Studio Update window, and the download will then start.
From this link do the following:
I installed Visual Studio 2013 Professional as a Trial version while waiting for my company to complete the license purchase.
They completed the purchase of 4 licenses (64 bit), but were not given Product Keys. Instead, there is a particular .iso file with the license or product key embedded in some way.
I want to avoid having to uninstall Visual Studio 2013 only to reinstall Visual Studio 2013 and re-setup all my settings. Is this possible? Is there a way to extract the license/product key from the .iso or from other coworkers desktops that did a clean install?
Here is what I have tried (with 2 coworker installations):
Looking for the license info in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\Licenses\*
but it is unique on both computers.
Looking for the Product Key in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\Registration\2000.0x0000\PIDKEY
One install had one, which my install said was invalid when attempting to use it. The other install had a blank PIDKEY.
Looking inside SW_DVD5_Visual_Studio_Pro_2013_English_MLF_X19-20996.ISO but I see no mention of a License or Product Key.
Checking their Help > Register Product in Visual Studio, which simply says
License: Product key applied
Tried doing an install/repair from the ISO but it says:
The product version that you are trying to set up is earlier than the version already installed on this computer.
Likely because of the Visual Studio 2013 Update 1 and 2
Again, I would really like to avoid the multi-hour process of reinstalling VS 2013. Is there any way?
I solved this, without having to completely reinstall Visual Studio 2013.
For those who may come across this in the future, the following steps worked for me:
Run the ISO (or vs_professional.exe).
If you get the error below, you need to update the Windows Registry to trick the installer into thinking you still have the base version. If you don't get this error, skip to step 3
Click the link for 'examine the log file' and look near the bottom of the log, for this line:
open regedit.exe and do an Edit > Find... for that GUID. In my case it was {6dff50d0-3bc3-4a92-b724-bf6d6a99de4f}. This was found in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall{6dff50d0-3bc3-4a92-b724-bf6d6a99de4f}
Edit the BundleVersion value and change it to a lower version. I changed mine from 12.0.21005.13 to 12.0.21000.13:
Exit the registry
Run the ISO (or vs_professional.exe) again. If it has a repair button like the image below, you can skip to step 4.
Otherwise you have to let the installer fix the registry. I did this by "installing" at least one feature, even though I think I already had all features (they were not detected). This took about 20 minutes.
Run the ISO (or vs_professional.exe) again. This time repair should be visible.
Click Repair and let it update your installation and apply its embedded license key. This took about 20 minutes.
Now when you run Visual Studio 2013, it should indicate that a license key was applied, under Help > Register Product:
Hope this helps somebody in the future!
