indexoutofrangeexception after january 2016 windows 10 updates - windows

I am getting indexoutofrangeexception after january 2016 windows 10 update on one of my .net apps. The application was working perfect before the update. Did a system restore and application started working again. Then did the windows 10 updates for january 2016 again and application stops running again. Anybody else running into this issue with windows 10?
Update #1
Dns.GetHostEntry is the culprit, it was broken by jan 2016 windows 10 updates. More details coming soon.
Update # 2
Found it!!! ipv6 address returns as ::1 from Dns.GetHostEntry and breaks code! I hope someone at microsoft is reading this. This only occurs after the jan 2016 windows updates. Also confirmed happening in windows 7.

Does Windows Server 2022 support Powershell 7?
Based on what I've seen so far, it looks like it supports 5.0 out of the box.
I've googled around a bit and it looks like it's supported on Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012, 201 and 2019.
It surprised me to not see Windows Server 2022 listed.
PowerShell 7 is supported in Windows Server 2022 as shown here, along the different install option.
Windows
7.2 (LTS-current)
7.3
7.4 (preview)
Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022

While I cannot answer your question from experience with Server 2022, I think I can safely say "Yes" to your question based on my experience with the downloadable Zip version of PowerShell 7.x.
That downloadable version works on anything and everything Windows I've placed it on, including Windows PE! Download it, unzip it, run the "pwsh.exe" file in it, and start testing your code!

Update or Fix Windows 10 Lite

I have a problem I need help with. Thanks for everyone's interest.
My computer is using windows pro lite version shared on the online community "Windows 10 Pro 1909 (19H2) Build 18363.476 (Lite Edition) x64 - Nov 2019". It has removed many features. I am needing to re-enable Telnet feature in WINdows Features. But it has been completely removed.
Can someone help me to add Telnet back or is it possible to update windows to full version without reinstalling WINdows.

Can not save in VB6 on Windows 2019 Server

Good Afternoon StackOverflow,
I have an End User who is coding in VB6, coding seem to have no issue but when he saves his project it hangs and eventually times out. The VB6 project running on a Windows XP machine and he saves on a Windows 2019 Server. There were no Windows Update but all of the sudden it can not save. The Windows 2019 was fully patched (Latest June patch) Note: saving his project on the local XP Machine has no problem.
We noticed that the files where open by him on on the Server and we can close the session out on the Server. When this happens we can not delete the project files (.bas) it seem like they are locked. The only way to unlock these files is to reboot the Server. We tried to replicate this on a different 2019 Server and it does the same thing.
Any help on this is greatly appreciate.

What are the possibilities for him to start alone?

I already searched the answer here, it was : right click the .exe file and choose unblock.
for the default settings of windows server prevent running exec files.

Visual Studio 15 Preview 5 : License expiration issue

I installed Visual Studio 15 Preview 5 on my office pc successfully and signed in with my hotmail account into it. There it says the license for this pre-release software is licensed to my hotmail account which will end on 31 January 2017 as shown below:
When I installed the same Visual Studio 15 Preview 5 on my home pc and tried setting up the same hotmail account then it gives licensing error. It says
License: Prerelease software. Your license has expired.
Is anyone aware of such an issue? Is there any limitation on configuring Visual Studio 15 preview 5 build on several machines with same live id?
As for me, this error was solved after I've restarted Windows to install the updates. When I logged in after the system restart, VS 15 Preview 5 installer has auto-started and finished its job - and my VS 15 installation is fully working since then.
I was facing the same issue - it seams that the installer doesn't finish successfully.
Starting the installer again told me that it was interrupted.
Running the installer solved the issue for me.
