Failure to transfer aopalliance - maven

I have just started with creating a spring maven project.
I am getting the following error in my pom.xml:
Failure to transfer aopalliance:aopalliance:jar:1.0 from
https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2 was cached in the local
repository, resolution will not be reattempted until the update
interval of central has elapsed or updates are forced.
Original error:
Could not transfer artifact aopalliance:aopalliance:jar:1.0 from/to central
The operation was cancelled.
My pom.xml is like this :

This is maven import error occurred because you don't have all those dependencies and their transitive dependencies in your local repository.
To fix this, you need to force Maven to pull all dependencies. Open Command Prompt and navigate to the root folder of your project where pom.xml file exists. Run below command:
mvn package
This will download the missing dependencies from remote repository.

I faced the same issue when I cancelled the the download of one of my project dependencies.
Following steps worked for me:
1. Remove the dependency(that you cancelled download) from pom.xml and
build(package or install).
2. Add the dependency back to pom.xml
3. Build(package or install) again.

Project Build Error : Non-resolvable parent POM

I am working on a spring boot application.
The maven version i use is 3.3.9. In settings.xml i have configured the proxy as well.
The maven build is getting SUCCESS in command prompt. But when i try to import the project to eclipse am getting project build error.
Methods i have tried to resolve the error:
used maven->Update maven project (no improvement)
In eclipse i have changed the location of local m2 repository
as windows->preferences->maven->user settings and pointed it to C:\apache-maven-3.3.9\conf\settings.xml (no improvement)
Tried executing mvn eclipse:eclipse command. But it failed.
used the command in cmd mvn clean install -U

Check your internet connection and ensure that you are able to access http://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/ with your browser. If yes, check if you need to configure a proxy server. If no, you should contact your internet provider.
see documentation ,for how to configure a proxy server for Maven:
Also delete the .m2 local Directory and run mvn clean install again
UPDATE : Right click on the project --> Maven --> Update project.
It worked for me after deleting the .m2 local Directory and then run mvn clean install again.
I have noticed that the windows system user did not have privileges to create the folders .m2 or any other folder in c:\users\user folder. So I elevated the privileges of the system user as admin and it all worked fine.

Unable to import org.springframework.web.multipart.MultipartFile;

I am using spring boot for rest API.. The rest API's uses the service methods...for service methods I have a different project - spring MVC application.. the jar is being created and provided to spring boot application.. I want to write some logic on MultipartFile But the problem is I unable to import the file MultipartFile inside spring MVC application(the jar project)
Take a look at the pom.xml

Use https://start.spring.io/ to create your initial POM / Spring Boot application.
You can add dependencies later as required.
I think, you are trying to run your application on local.
Spring boot application has inbuilt tomcat server.
In order to run your application in eclipse,
1) Right click on your project --> 2) Go to Run as --> 3) Java application
Your application will start.
Add dependency of devTools as well in your pom, so that if you make any changes in your code the server will be restarted automatically.
you do not need to deploy spring-boot project in tomcat, spring-boot is having is own server to run the application.
so when you deploy application on server, with the help of maven we can build and run the spring-boot application.
here is the command to run build and run the application in linux.
nohup mvn clean spring-boot:run
if you want to restart server you need to kill port id
lsof -i : appPortNumber
kill -9 processIdOfPort

To remove extra dependencies inherited from spring-boot-starter-parent

<parent>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-parent</artifactId>
<version>1.2.6.RELEASE</version>
<relativePath/> <!-- lookup parent from repository -->
When spring-boot-starter-parent is used as parent, then it includes many unnecessary dependencies. Like in my case it fetches the dependencies for
(spring-mobile-device , spring-social-facebook , spring-social-linkedin , org.apache.activemq ) which i don't want.
If I open my effective POM(with get's auto created) , it's contains hell lot of dependencies which i don't want.
Is there any way to remove the unnecessary dependencies which are not used in the project? Is there a tool to identify such dependencies?
Any help is appreciated :)
Thanks

spring-boot-starter-parent doesn't declare any dependencies. However, via spring-boot-dependencies, it does provide dependency management for a wide-range of potential dependencies.
From Maven's documentation:
The dependency management section is a mechanism for centralizing dependency information. When you have a set of projects that inherits a common parent it's possible to put all information about the dependency in the common POM and have simpler references to the artifacts in the child POMs
The references to artifacts can be simpler as, thanks to the dependency management, there's no need to declare a version. For example:
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
<dependency>
<dependencies>
If you don't specify a version, Maven will use the version that's configured in the dependency management.
Only when you add an entry in your pom's <dependencies> section will your project actually have that dependency and Maven will download it as part of the build.

Use Spring boot only for development

I am kind of newbie to maven configuration and using spring-boot .
I want to use spring boot but I only want it to be active for development, when I deploy the artifact to other environments like QA or Production I want to generate a war, and I dont want to have any spring-boot dependecy.
How could I accomplish this ?
This is my current pom.xml

I have heard a bit about maven profiles , but I am not sure how it works, and if it is the best solutions for this use case. Basically what I want, It is to introduce spring-boot dependencies only for development stage and keep the current ones for production and qa stages.
Thanks!
You really can't have a dynamic parent. However, just setting spring boot as parent will not bring you any dependencies, it will only provide you access to the properties and dependencyManagement and will help you manage dependency versions easier.
