TeamBuild build error: Unknown ProviderOption:DefiningProjectFullPath. Known ProviderOptions are:skipInvalid - visual-studio-2013

I have a solution created with VS2013 with this projects:
WebApp (Asp.net mvc5 web app)
Common (c# library project)
The solution is versioned on server TFS2013.
I Create and edited a build definition for my solution where i want create 2 build using Release and Debug configuration.
I have configured build definition like this article because i want tranform Web.Config
When i add MSBuild this arguments in my Team Build definition:
/p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:UseWPP_CopyWebApplication=True /p:PipelineDependsOnBuild=False
Now i have this error:
(PackageUsingManifest target) ->
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v12.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets(3883,5): error : Web deployment task failed.
(Unknown ProviderOption:DefiningProjectFullPath. Known ProviderOptions are:skipInvalid.)
If i remove the MSBuild argument it works.
QUESTION: What's could be configured wrong?

I discovered that on my local machine there was Visual Studio 2013 Update 5 while on the server TFS there was Visual Studio 2013 RTM (no update).
I resolved with a update of Visual Studio 2013 at last version (Update 5) on server where is installed TFS.

Publish a Windows Application Package Project via command line

How can I publish the UWP package via command line?
I have a WPF application that is packaged with a Windows Application Package Project that ends up being published to the Microsoft Store.
In order to be accepted in the Store, the WPF project needs to be compiled with a preprocessor directive (that I named as "UWP"), deactivating stuff that are not allowed for Store apps.
I'm in the process of migrating the WPF app from .NET Framework 4.8 to .NET 5 and along with that I'm trying to streamline my publishing process via command line.
Is there any way to configure or update the package to support ARM64?
The app will be published outside the Store as x86, x64 and ARM64 and I intend to do the same for the Store version.
When checking the WAPP, I noticed that ARM64 is not available on the list. As you can see in the screenshot, I was able to create a ARM64 build profile, but the architecture is not available on the table.
What have I tried? (Command line issue)
I tried running this command:
MSBuild.exe C:\Project-UWP\Project.UWP\Project.UWP.wapproj /p:DefineConstants=UWP /p:Configuration=Release;AppxBundle=Always;AppxBundlePlatforms="x86|x64|ARM64" /p:OutDir="..\Publish\UWP"
But got these errors:

Error while building SSIS project using MSBuild during CI/CD implementation

Can someone assist with the following error which i am getting while building SSIS project using msbuild. I am having Visual studio 2015 in the machine. Using MSBuild 14.0
"*
error MSB4041: Th e default XML namespace of the project must be the
MSBuild XML namespace. If the project is authored in the MSBuild 200 3
format, please add

element. If the proje ct has been authored in the old 1.0 or
1.2 format, please convert it to MSBuild 2003 format.
*"
I have gone through some articles online but couldn't find solution with this scenario.
*" I have gone through some articles online but couldn't find solution with this scenario.
I'm afraid the answer is negative. For now this scenario(build SSIS project using msbuild) is not supported.
Someone has post this issue in DC forum, see Support SSIS, SSRS, SSAS in MSBuild. So if you're trying to use azure devops for CI/CD process, please vote and track this issue to get notifications when there's any update. And if you're using other tools for CI/CD process, I suggest you open a new feature request to support SSIS building for stand-alone msbuild tools in local machine.
And here're two workarounds which may help:
1.Since you have VS2015 installed, instead of msbuild command, you can try using devenv command.
For VS2015, we can find devenv.exe and devenv.com in path C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE. Both devenv.exe and devenv.com works for this, but note: Using devenv.exe directly prevents output from appearing on the console.
So devenv.xxx ... xxx.dtproj /build can work to build the SSIS project.
2.We can find binary(Microsoft.SqlServer.IntegrationServices.Build.dll) of the SQL Server Data Tools in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE. Then we can use msbuild UsingTask element to call the tasks defined in that assembly.
The core is to call DeploymentFileCompilerTask task for SSIS build in our custom msbuild target after defining this statement:
<UsingTask TaskName="DeploymentFileCompilerTask" AssemblyFile="C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.SqlServer.IntegrationServices.Build.dll" />
More details please refer to here and here.
Update:
If we have several Database projects and SSIS projects in same solution. Using command like devenv.com xx.dtproj directly will actually build all projects.
So I suggest we use command in this way:
Open Developer command prompt for VS
cd to solution directory
use command: devenv.com SolutionName.sln /Build Development /Project SolutionName\xxx.dtproj /ProjectConfig Development
This will only build the SSIS project actually.
In addition: If you see the message The project 'DatabaseProjectName.sqlproj' will close once model building has paused. If it doesn't affect your build, just ignore it. After my check if won't actually build Database project(the output of database project is empty) if we use command above.

MSBuild 2015 fails packaging web app from VS2010

I have a build server that until recently had up to .Net 4.5.1 and VS2010/VS2012 installed. I ran MSBuild to build and package web apps as follows:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\12.0\Bin\MSBuild.exe" Hartford.Pace.sln /nologo /v:n /p:Configuration=Release /p:DeployOnBuild=True /p:CreatePackageOnPublish=True /p:AutoParameterizationWebConfigConnectionStrings=False /p:EnableNuGetPackageRestore=True
I recently updated the build server to include Frameworks through 4.6.1 and VS2013/VS2015. Everything was installed in sequence. I updated the build command to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\14.0\Bin\MSBuild.exe" Hartford.Pace.sln /nologo /v:n /p:Configuration=Release /p:DeployOnBuild=True /p:CreatePackageOnPublish=True /p:AutoParameterizationWebConfigConnectionStrings=False /p:EnableNuGetPackageRestore=True /p:VisualStudioVersion=10.0
And now I'm getting the following error only for VS2010 web apps:
"d:\a5\bi_hartsource_pace\Microsoft_Build_Web_App\trunk\Hartford.Pace.sln" (default target) (1) ->
"d:\a5\bi_hartsource_pace\Microsoft_Build_Web_App\trunk\Hartford.Pace.Services\Hartford.Pace.Services.csproj" (default target) (2) ->
(PackageUsingManifest target) ->
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets(3009,5): error : Web deployment task failed. (Unknown ProviderOption:DefiningProjectFullPath. Known ProviderOptions are:.) [d:\a5\bi_hartsource_pace\Microsoft_Build_Web_App\trunk\Hartford.Pace.Services\Hartford.Pace.Services.csproj]
Which points to a problem with the packaging target files. I checked them and none of them were changed by the update.
Does anyone know of side-by-side issues with VS2010 and VS2015? I'd like to upgrade the VS2010 Solutions but it's not my code and I need to build existing apps without modification.
Is this the best method for packaging an app without having the developers create publishing profiles or running anything at their end? This is supposed to be a fully automated build and deploy process. It has been working for three years with no issues but I'm open to suggestions that I can implement entirely on my build server without involving changing files in the source code (including csproj or other controlling files).
Add /p:VisualStudioVersion=10.0

Can you call an earlier version of MSBuild from 2013 from TFS build definition

Our company just migrated our project from a TFS 2012 server to 2013 TFS server as well as our build controllers (2012 servers to 2013). I know within VS2013 MSBuild is now part of the application however I have a need to also reference older build machines that build some of our SSIS and SSAS projects as part of deployment. The challenge I have is these projects use Business Intelligence for 2008R2 and I cannot migrate the solution/projects forward.
Within my analytic's solution which was authored in VS2010 I have the following build command:
<Target Name="BeforeBuild">
<!-- Build SSIS Package-->
<Exec Command=""C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" "$(MSBuildProjectDirectory)\..\AnalyticsSSAS\AnalyticsSSAS.dwproj" /Build" />
</Target>
<PropertyGroup>
<PostBuildEvent>xcopy "$(ProjectDir)..\AnalyticsSSAS\bin\*.*" /y</PostBuildEvent>
</PropertyGroup>
When I try to run a build using the 2013 definition the build fails and states that the msbiuld taks EXEC is not recognized. I can open the solution and projects individually and build them (running 2010) with no issues 2013 wants to migrate the solution to which I can't do.
Here is the actual message generated in the build log file:
"f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Analytics.sln" (default target) (1) ->
"f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Database\Dashboards\SSASBuild\SSASBuild.csproj" (default target) (2) ->
(BeforeBuild target) ->
f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Database\Dashboards\SSASBuild\SSASBuild.csproj(85,5): error MSB3073: The command ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" "f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Database\Dashboards\SSASBuild\..\AnalyticsSSAS\AnalyticsSSAS.dwproj" /Build" exited with code 1.
"f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Analytics.sln" (default target) (1) ->
"f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Database\Dashboards\SSISBuild\SSISBuild.csproj" (default target) (3) ->
f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Database\Dashboards\SSISBuild\SSISBuild.csproj(84,5): error MSB3073: The command ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" "f:\blds\26\DevCI\src\Database\Dashboards\SSISBuild\..\AnalyticsSSIS\AnalyticsSSIS.dtproj" /Build" exited with code 1.
I suspect from what I have read that MSBuild in VS2013 will not allow for a lower version of MSBuild v9.0 to be referenced without migrating the project to a newer version.
Has anyone seen this before and is there any workaround for this type of build?
-cheers
I think there are many solution, but the basic idea is to force using the old MSBuild version.
Custom Build Template (old style)
Add an MSBuild activity and set the ToolPath Property to the old version. You must expose a list of solutions to build as Template arguments.
Script (new style)
Write a post-build (or pre-build) script that invokes the proper MSBuild version with the path to the solution.

Publish doesn't work from build definition VS2012

What I thought would be simple is not. All I am trying to do is get MSBuild to copy website files to another server after my build.
In my Build definition Under Process --> Advance --> MSBuild Arguments I put
/p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile
It builds fine but it never copies files to destination
BUT when I run this command locally, IT WORKS!!!!!
msbuild /p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile
I have VS 2012 installed in Build Server so I think all the necessary files are there.
What is the problem?
UPDATE 1
Output in build log file
Run MSBuild for Project
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\MSBuild.exe /nologo /noconsolelogger "C:\Builds\1\MyProject\MyProject\src\MyProject.sln" /nr:False /fl /flp:"logfile=C:\Builds\1\MyProject\MyProject\src\MyProject.log;encoding=Unicode;verbosity=detailed" /p:SkipInvalidConfigurations=true /p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile /p:VisualStudioVersion=11.0 /m /p:OutDir="C:\Builds\1\MyProject\MyProject\bin\\" /p:RunCodeAnalysis="False" /p:VCBuildOverride="C:\Builds\1\MyProject\MyProject\src\MyProject.sln.vsprops" /dl:WorkflowCentralLogger,"E:\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 11.0\Tools\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Build.Server.Logger.dll";"Verbosity=Detailed;BuildUri=vstfs:///Build/Build/64;InformationNodeId=20178;TargetsNotLogged=GetNativeManifest,GetCopyToOutputDirectoryItems,GetTargetPath;TFSUrl=http://abc-tfs-p:8080/tfs/defaultcollection;"*WorkflowForwardingLogger,"E:\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 11.0\Tools\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Build.Server.Logger.dll";"Verbosity=Detailed;"
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Created new website project
Made sure it worked on local machine
using development server
Checked code in TFS
Created a build definition using all the default settings Under the Process -->
Advance --> MSBuild Arguments I put
/p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile
The publish profile copies the changeset to a remote server.
Installing the Web Tools 2012.2 update on the build server fixed this issue for me after I read this post and Scott Gu's Blog. I don't have Visual Studio installed on the server but installing the update got my DeployOnBuild working. I hope that helps.
